      I believe the emperor is on the throne, but he doesn't look as bad as he does.
      He's just emoing on the throne because he was betrayed.
      The nikaea verdict wasn't the emperor's being stupid and throwing magnus to the ruinous powers, but him stupidly trying to prevent it.
      He see's the future like psychers do, but with limits, so he only saw magnus being approached by tzeench "if I tell him not to do it he won't do the only thing he could to warn me and fuck my webway program."
      Also, the whole cabal thing makes no sense, their vision makes zero sense because it's not like the eldar being eaten did chaos any bad. My guess is that they just saw one future and thought they saw 2 possibilities and interpreted everything wrong because psychers are stupid nerd cunts and profecies are unreliable.
      And the whole "alpharius joined the cabal" is just post hoc rationalization that the alpha legion itself cooked to troll the retarded inquisition and custodies.
      My head cannon is that the alpha legion was never loyalist or traitor, always rogue for the sole sake of trolling everyone and each other.

    I love that Alpharius/Omegon are the embodiment of the “Just as Planned” meme. But as an Eldar player since 2nd Edition, I really have to lament that “killing an Avatar of Khaine in single combat” is now sadly really easy, in the fluff, and on the table. ... Basically any generic space marine Veteran/Terminator/Captain with a thunder hammer & storm shield can do it if they get the charge. I think our dead Bloody-Handed God REALLY needs to spend some time bulking up in the Craftworld gyms before 9th Edition.

    While Alpharius and Omegon did disguise themselves on a regular basis, other Primarchs were able to see through the disguise, even if not necessarily immediately. So if Orar was Omegon in disguise, Guilliman would likely eventually recognize him as Omegon. So when Guilliman slew Omegon, he’s almost certainly correct. But perhaps the slaying of Omegon is the cover story concocted by Omegon and Guilliman and shortly after, Orar appears.

    • @SonsOfLorgar
      @SonsOfLorgar 4 роки тому +13

      That would make sense, however, it depends on if Omegon would be able to convince Guilliman to belive him and trust his loyalty, I think that would have required the presense of Sanguinius or Malcador in person to psycically verify Omegons claims.

    • @Sam-bp2st
      @Sam-bp2st 4 роки тому +14

      Perhaps then when Guillimen found out that Orar was in fact Omegon then he would've been kicked out of the legion instead of killed for defecting from the traitor sides but in honour of his service,he keeps some of the alpha legionaries and makes a chapter of Omegons gene seed.
      Edit: Also when he was 'killed' Guillimen lied so as to hide suspicions of Omegon still being alive and the same goes with Orar

      Alternative Theory: Omegon was a Loyalist Remnant of the Alpha Legion who, working in collusion with Malcador, attempted to infiltrate the Traitor legions and sunder them into tribal warlords whose bickering would ensure their destruction, believing his brother-Primarch was also an agent of this plan, and would explain why he was so bitter at Alpharius in the coming war. Possibly, even, Omegon had been an agent since the rumors of Horus's defection began and the Emperor remained recalcitrant to admit his brightest son could have fallen. However, with the unity of the Traitor legions behind Horus proving too strong to divide into factions, Omegon sabotaged what he could before he and a cadre of his remnant Loyalists were "slain" by the Ultramarines in what was actually a covert reinforcement of Loyalist Ultramarine forces.

    • @Erraddo
      @Erraddo 4 роки тому +3

      Alpharius and Omegon have been reportedly killed more than two times, so make of that what you will.
      Also, in a HH novel, one feels the other disappearing, during a fight with Guilliman. He presumes him dead. What if guilliman found a way to help him hide? Just started throwing blanks at him,he's still hiding 10k years later?

    • @WASDLeftClick
      @WASDLeftClick 3 роки тому +2

      The original records could easily have been lost for a reason as mundane as the paper they were written on crumbling into dust over time because the servitor who was supposed to be maintaining them or bringing them out for preservation had a glitch and simply walked past them for a few hundred years. Then some Adeptus Administratum menial discovered the crumbling, mold-damaged, illegible remains of the records one day and simply covered up their existence in order to save his own hide from disciplinary action. Any digital records held by cogitators could have suffered a similar fate, or simply could have not existed in the first place.

    The Alpha Legion was an Ultramarines cloning project, set up by the Emperor, that's why Guilliman and Alpharius were so close... Lol Could be, but no, jokes aside. Even if it was Omegon who was Orar or Orar never existed, he could have just gone to Rob and asked forgiveness or said he was switching sides and just been rolled into the Ultramarines. Without so much as an issue, as did at least one loyalist member of the Iron Warriors and his Grand Battalion. So, even if they are Alpha Legion bois, it doesn't really change a hell of a lot. Both the Alpha Legion and Ultramarines were all about flexibility and mutable tactics.

    *The Lost Sons Of Omegon? - 40K Theories* This epic video completely fits with my feelings about my favorite Legion. That they were the prototype Primaris Marines (Improved Black Op Marines) created by the Emperor himself rather than Caul's hidden Primaris production. 'Alpha and Omega' meaning the beginning AND the end! More effective per Marine than any other and smarter too, Even the War Master would be humiliated by their skills and they always went for less killing and less losses to achieve success starting our even as hidden security at Terra to maintain order when unknown rebellions appeared before Alpharius turns up. When put together with The False Origins Of Alpharius - 40K Theories one gets a better picture of why things are why they are. Omegon being more pro Emperor having been raised with him and Alpharius pro War Master for his time with Horus.
    Also watch these; (40 Facts and Lore about Alpharius Warhammer 40k and The False Origins Of Alpharius - 40K Theories 40k Stories - Legions: The Alpha Legion The Fate Of Omegon - 40K Theories The Sons Of Omegon - 40K Theories-) It is incredible because DESPITE the confusion and lack of certainty ALL potential connections of the Alphas are limited to, the Emperor perhaps HIMSELF raising Omegon vs Alpharius's friendship to Horus and the love hate relationship to Gullimans Ultramarines AND THE GREY KNIGHTS! Not only that but the fact that The Alphas Marines like the Primaris are SUPERIOR and larger than the others but their earlier superiority being focused on genius and flexibility over purely technical and the physical and being trained as SQUADS not individuals.
    I keep seeing parallels with Isaac Asimov's secret hidden 2nd foundation, there to take over if the first (equivalent to Ultramarines) failed. I increasingly find the other Space Marines to be rather stupid and boring and limited TOOLS! See 'Dog Brain Dorn' lecturing Alpharius on 99% perfection not being good enough after HIS total disasters like 'The Cage'. With idiot Primarchs of power but zero insight the Empire was in trouble. The Alphas have everything in one diluted force! The Alphas seem to feel this way too and have no interest in their brain dead battle brothers. The Emperor fucked up again but knew it. Hence the Grey Knights and the Alphas and Ultramarines! The more I know the more I love them. What a potential they have.
    I believe the expression 'Omega' points to their being the last legion (XXth). While 'Alpha' pointing to their being the FIRST of the NEO Marines (think Primaris)! We need to see the rational pro evolution, since and knowledge Ultramarines team up with the equally rational Alphas. Both despise the rot of the Present religious nut job Empire, little better than Chaos or the Dark Eldar at times. Both Legions believe in rational co operation with Xenos (resurrecting Gulliman) and of returning to an evolving rational Galaxy sharing the Emperors own hatred of religious insanity, whether loyalist or Chaos. Knowing how the Eldar created Slaanesh and the Humans insanity and cruelty fed Chaos , I believe both Legions have already co operated, consciously or not on numerous unknown occasions even while fighting each other in other areas.
    Therefor it is not surprising that NOTHING since Kathleen Kennedy's abortion of Star Wars has pissed me off so much as seeing the horrible tendency of recent GW stories attempting to kill the variety and contradictions that make up the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. In both the Space Marines AND Chaos. Nothing makes me so angry as seeing DEMON PRINCE Alphas or Nurgle etc mutations. Sure some of the lost renegades perhaps but NOT of the actual still functioning Alphas who are disciplined and organized, a central part of their very character. We do not want simplistic Chaos vs Simplistic Space Marines. It is the same with the Primaris. The danger is the loss of all that LORE and creativity to push toys over story.
    We who are thinking consumers fear another intellectual abortion like the Age OF SHITMIRE; OR Kennedy's vs Lucas Star Wars or the vile Chibnalls Dr Who abortion vs the genius of RTD's NU Dr Who in 2005 to 2009 with Ecclestone and Tennent. Stopped because the show offended both Tony Blair (the model for Simm's excellent Master' as UK PM sociopath) and David Cameron by criticizing the UK's growing police state and MSM brainwashing. So the question is bigger than just taste and aesthetics. It is a question of the death of creativity and culture that nurtures and inspires us all replaced with marketing, re boots and 'narratives'. We want THOUGHTFUL exciting stories! The Alphas are very interesting, intelligent and unique. Please don't turn them into mutant 'Stupids' please Games Workshop! Variety IS the spice of life.

    I love this entire thread of theories. What the Alpha Legion did or did not do is so in ticing because they're so sneaky.
    As it is, Malcador's messing around is always a good pretext for considering heretic legions rejoining their loyalist brothers under different names.

    Can't imagine a hidden Primarch infiltrating the Ultras and rising to captain without Guiliman noticing! The Primarchs can sense each other. Of course he could have been in on it, giving Omegon sanctuary as it were, whilst claiming that he'd 'killed' him. That would be true in a sense - Bob being involved in the 'death' of the old identity. Guiliman and Dorn had done something similar before in absorbing the legionaries of the 2nd and 11th when their Primarchs were .... [whatever happened to them].

    I had a character in Black Crusade who was an Alpha Legionaire, and was on a quest to recover Alpharius' weapon, the Pale Spear.
    The GM ended up going with it being split into pieces to give me a little scavenger hunt, and, since all the Primarchs had latent, if weak, Psychic Powers, it seemed that the Alpha Legion all going "I am Alpharius" wasn't quite a lie, as his own remnants of his Psychic Presence basically possessed each Legionaire, and as I gathered more pieces of the Pale Spear I'd become more and more like the Primarch.
    It was a really cool idea, and I rather like it

    It would fit the mythology if Alpharius joined/infiltrated the traitors and Omegon is still working/fighting for the Imperium. Mind that exactly half the legions joined chaos, while the other half stayed loyal - a metaphor that in every human being, good and evil are ever fighting, but are in balance.

    Another point against Orar being Omegon is (if i'm right) that chapters are supposed to send a fraction of their genetic stock to Terra for conservation and purity check. Meaning that at some point the magos biologis in check may have realize that it's not Ultramarines genetic origin (may not be able to determine which original legion, but at least saying it's not Ultramarine).
    And to be fair with that theory, I also said supposed, because some chapters have no problem to middle finger the administratum laws, should they found them not fitting their views.

    Going through it I suppose it would make sense for Alpharius to go one way, and Omegon the other way. Even if it is sort of meh to me. Like Alpharius wouldn’t know the hand of his brother in events. I prefer to think they play these games against each other so that they can move in two separate directions apparently to the prognosticators and powers. All the while playing a greater game together. Two hands moving as one, though not through apparent observation. A magicians trick.

  • @questofknowledge8788

    One problem with this idea. It is mentioned at one point that the two brother primarchs had switched places with each other. Meaning the Omegon could actually be Alfarius in this case (please excuse spelling of names), and the one who died during the heresy being Omegon.

    • @40KTheories
      @40KTheories  3 роки тому

      Praetorian of Dorn confirms that it was Alpharius who died, as Omegon (who was on the other side of the galaxy at the time) psychically felt Alpharius die at the hands of Dorn. Omegon would then take up the mantle/name of Alpharius for himself soon after in order to deceive Horus into believing he was the real "Alpharius".

  • @headlibrarian1996

    I think the notion of missing records makes no sense in most cases, because it requires that multiple sources separated by light years of space all lose the information. With respect to Orar, this requires the Ultramarines central records on Macragge, the Sons of Orar themselves, the records of any Ultramarine fleets Orar was stationed on, the records of any allied Space Marine Chapters and their fleets, and any records held in Sector or Terran hands, all somehow manage to have information on Orar disappear. Absent specific action being taken to destroy these records it seems unlikely. This same problem occurs in many 40k contexts. I think the writers/editors, in their desire to create mystery, haven't really thought through the scale of data destruction required.

    Wouldn't it be great if every chapter that uses the Omega icon are secretly members of the loyalist Alpha Legion. With Omegon himself now posing as one of the Custodes that now protect Guilluman or one of the Custodes that guards the Emperor. Having his "proxy" chapter legions acquire battle honors as redemption in order to prove their loyalty enough for Omegon to unmask himself to Guilluman.

  • @randomusername3445

    What if Omegon after becoming completely disillusioned with the heresy and not wanting his loyal sons who were also tricked hunted down like dogs infiltrated loyalist Imperium forces and founded several successor chapters with loyal alpha legionnaires as the primary members. This way the legion could still carry on without having to worry about being treated adversely by the Imperium.

    Could the twin primarchs be perpetuals? Seems pretty sketch that, if Orar was Omegon, he would just die in some random combat. Sounds like a set up to me. Having primarchs that would use their perpetual state to their advantage by "faking" their death would be very advantageous. Also it seems like Big E liked to do things in pairs with overlapping traits and similar quirks for primarchs. Well, for the most part. Vulcan can't be the only perpetual primarch, right?

      When the White Scars arrived at Prospero to see the results of it's destruction, they encountered Arvida upon it's surface. Arvida would then accompany the White Scars and fight alongside them as they made their journey to Terra. (Source: Scars)
      The Scars even offered to induct him into the legion proper with his own set of armour painted in their colours, but Arvida declined, partly out of respect and partly because he could no longer remove his own armour because of the Flesh Change, but was still nonetheless regarded as an honorary member of the fifth legion (Source: Path of Heaven)
