After watching Love to Hate You I only have to look at Yoo Teo and I start grinning from ear to ear 😁 it’s one of the best things I’ve seen and my face hurt from laughing while watching it (I did all 10 episodes back to back in one day). I love his German accent when he speaks English.
English is a dominant language around the world. Most people that can’t speak the language feels as though something is missing. You don’t find many people wanting to learn other languages like they want to learn English.
Lmao, no. Most Canadians speak English, but can't speak French despite it being a part of their education system. If speaking a foreign language wasn't such a big deal in the Entertainment industry, it wouldn't have been such a selling point that Timothy Chalamet, Brad Pitt etc. can speak a foreign language.
Don't diminish their achievement, it is a big deal to be able to speak more than one language and speak it fluently. Being bilingual or trilingual is a sign if intelligence, not everyone has the ability.
Ok Taec-yeon grew up in the USA..so of course his English is great. Ahn hype-seop grew up in Canada..again of course his English is great. I’m impressed by all of them, but a little bit extra of Yoo Teo. English and German are two very different languages, so to master them both is very impressive!
Thank you! I've been waiting for him to show up on these lists because his American English is perfect, with no trace of a Korean accent (unlike some other people on these videos touted as speaking "flawless" English). Guess he learned it from middle school on through university and film school in the US. Anyway, his perfect English is all over The Roundup, but also in a recent comedy show in Korea in which he recites the lyrics to the pop song Barbie Girl (sexily, I might add).
Yim Siwan had very natural English speaking in a variety show (when he and Yeo Jin Goo went to Hawaii). Even in Emergency Declaration, the perfect accent in English about having a bomb had his voice.
C'mon, stop saying that some of the actors "mastered" or have " impeccable" accents when they clearly do not. It's a disservice to actual actors who are truly bilingual like Krystal or Ahn Hyo-seop(Paul Ahn),or Choi Woo-shik who are Korean-American or Canadian.
Yes! Thank you for this comment. The best is when they have Kpop stars saying a few lines they memorized for whatever they are filming or an event and the video claims they can speak 8 languages. 😂
Just 3 people on this list are good native English speakers. The actor from Penthouse is definitely a native. But it is a great thing they all picked up English (because it can be hard to learn a foreign language) and not many people keep up, some even give up.
What saddens me as an English teacher and polyglot is the fact that Koreans don't believe in themselves much. They've been taught to believe they won't be able to speak fluent English unless they're born in a country where English is the first language o at least study there. All it takes is to attend a decent class with a decent English teacher. Why make it so hard? I always wonder
It's because Korean grammar is completely different from English grammar. I've been teaching English to foreign students for 15 years, and in my experience, Korean students make the same mistakes in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation regardless of age, gender, or background. There are words in English that are incredibly difficult for them to pronounce because they don't produce those sounds in Korean, and they tend to add extra syllables to certain words. Not to mention they have loads of Konglish that they mistake for correct English. So those are pretty hard habits to break. The English language education system in Korea is not exactly top notch, that's why most of them go to private academies or even international schools so they can learn English at an early age. It is not easy for them to learn English at all. And it's worse for Japanese students because they have stronger accents so they have more difficulty pronouncing certain words. So I can understand where they're coming from.
There’s a difference between knowing a language perfectly or decently as opposed to speaking it with a lot of difficulty and for many of these actors they know English but it’s with a great difficulty. I consider someone with good or great English once they can speak, understand and say the words correctly and clearly without the need to find their words, and without the use of an interpreter. Because in the case of most actors who are not native English speakers tend to lose their English overtime due to not keeping it in practice so I don’t consider them people that can speak great, good or even decent English in my opinion.
@@alazjaw.8968 Exactly but that is only the case for a few of these actors, obviously the ones who were abroad for a period of time are the ones with great to okay English the rest just have what people consider “knowing enough to get by” meaning it’s not great nor decent it’s just enough to carry on somewhat of a conversation.
@@alazjaw.8968 - As a native English speaker, I confirm what the op has stated. I have not lived in my native country for quite a few years, however I am ALWAYS able to express my thoughts best of all and with the LEAST effort if I can drop back to English. The only time I struggle in English is if I am attempting to express a word or sentiment that does not really exist in English (like the Spanish or Italian term 'simpatico' for example.) But other than difficulties based on a cultural frame of reference, my brain is 'architected' in English at the core. 😊 Yes, most of the celebrities referenced in the video and by a lot of other commenters are mostly passibly OK. Even in the video it was evident that several of them communicate in English with varying degrees of difficulty. That itself is telling because they were mostly delivering scripted lines. If they were somewhat shaky delivering rehearsed lines, it would be even more challenging if they needed to express their thoughts extemporaneously in an interview or elsewhere. They are still to be commended for having skills in English. It is just that many of the entertainers who were featured in the video would not necessarily be classified as 'fluent'. ... When I heard him speak his lines I thought that he had been raised bilingual. Ma Dong Seok should be on this list as well, he used to live in San Antonio Texas as mentioned in one of his interviews, he had a small role playing a bouncer in the series Sense8 and he's also in Eternals the MCU movie
Also not to forget Steve Noh Sanghyun, who played Isak in 'Pachinko'. He speaks great English too coz he grew up in the US. He spoke a lot of English in the variety show 'Dopojarak'.
First of all Korean actors/idols who lived in English speaking countries and went to school there it's obvious that they should speak English. How about example of famous Koreans who didn't go to another country to learn a second language. For example, Kim Namjoon (RM) who did not live in English speaking country, he actually learned English in Korea and to be honest speaks better and with less heavy accent compared to few others.
I can't see what is so fascinating about this!!! The majority of these actors lived abroad so it's obvious they would speak fluent English. Moreover, as an actor or actress, speaking English fluently is a must
If they were raised or lived a long time in an English speaking country than it's a given. But if they weren't and can speak it fluently with a good accent then it is an achievement to be sure. Not everyone has the gift of being able to speak different languages.
As much as I love actors speaking different languages when it comes to acting honestly its not that difficult especially if you have a dialect coach. What impresses me is when they can express the right emotions while speaking their lines. Some actors focus so much on speaking the lines that the emotions dont really match. Id rather them stick to their original language if its going to just come out cold. I may be a bit harsh but thats just my opinion
They have my hugh respect, because for Koreans it's so hard to learn English and I also got some Korean only frends, who still struggle with English. Now that I learn Korean for one year, I understand them so good
I*m more surprised with the actors that learnt it on their own. The ones who lived in English speaking countries learnt it naturally, though! Learning a new language is a kind of training, it requires perseverance and repetition. All my respect for the people who work hard on it!
There are other Korean Actors/Actresses who weren’t included in here-I forgot the name of this actress from Penthouse, Ok Teacyon, Choi Woosik, The main actress from True Beauty, Siwon -these are the actors/tress I know who speaks english well.
I'm from the USA and was not impressed with Hyun Bin's English. I heard part of his speech when he was in Switzerland for the watch company. His English was not fluent or smooth, there was a lot of hesitation and a strong accent. I should talk! I speak some French and Spanish, very badly!! 😂😂😂
Hyo Joo's pronunciation is so clear and so smooth. Its not her first language but she speaks more naturally than the people who try too hard to put on a fake American accent and its wierd how the ones who lived in English speaking countries have stronger accents. I also liked Jun Yeol. Again, he speaks comfortably and is easy to understand. And I kinda smiled at Yoon Teo because he speaks fluent English but with a German accent!
Most of these actors grew up or studied abroad and that doesn't count. I teach English to foreign students for a living and it's obvious from their accent and grasp of the English language that they either studied in international schools or abroad. Most Koreans who only studied English in their local schools or private academies can't speak the language as fluently or easily. To me, the Korean actor that should be admired for his English skills is Lee Byung Hun. He had to learn to speak the language for his Hollywood roles and yet he has almost perfect and clear pronunciation, and his grammar is not at all bad. He's the one I always use as an example to my Korean students because you don't need an American/British accent to be good at English, you just need to be able to speak and express yourself clearly using the right words, pronunciation, and grammatical structure to avoid misunderstanding when communicating with native speakers.
Ma Dong Seok? Lee Byun Hun? Bae Doona? Kim Yun Jin...who have been in Hollywood films. Choi Woo Shik, Park Min Young, Ahn Hyo Seop, Han Yeo Seul, Lee Seo Jin, Shin Se Kyung, Choi Si Won, Youn Yuh Jung, Ok Taecyeon. Jeon Jong Seo. These actors/actresses deserve just as much recognition
At least, these actors/actresses are not arrogant just because they can speak English. Just like any languages, it can be acquired by anyone over time of using or exposed to it. The most important is not to be so arrogant to the extent of being mean to others just because of it.
1. some were born or studied in a foreign country. Know other languages. 2. Self thought But also some just because you know some sentences doesn’t mean they are fluent. It’s like saying because I know how to ask where the bathroom is or how much a item is I’m fluent in Korean. I can go up to some and talk to them in English and maybe they can’t even answer. Some just study lines of dramas or movies.
Thank you... For making Jang Geun Seuk was on the list. He's quite good at speaking English & pronunciation though he's a Korean. He's also a good communication in Japanese Language.
All Of The Actors again they surprised me again with their flurrent English talking and speaking and they are doing such a good job at it once again i am so inpressed with Them once again i love it so much
I'm not surprised. I think overseas most students study english in some form. It's only in the US where learning another language is not pushed. Sad to say I wish I spoke and understood another language. I know just enough to say my name and ask for the restroom in Spanish and French. Soon Korean.
To the losers who say "English is nothing New or it's not intelligent" yeah well try learning literally a language you aren't familiar with. That's a talent and an achievement. ❤

Also not to forget Steve Noh Sanghyun, who played Isak in 'Pachinko'. He speaks great English too coz he grew up in the US. He spoke a lot of English in the variety show 'Dopojarak'.
Jang Geun Suk,Ryu Jun Yeol,
I Know Yoon Teo as Ragas from Arthdal Chronicles he's the father of Joonki there..He was so remarkable
Really need to watch Kim Ji Hoon in more dramas and movies
Ahn Hyo Seop also speaks English fluently
First of all Korean actors/idols who lived in English speaking countries and went to school there it's obvious that they should speak English. How about example of famous Koreans who didn't go to another country to learn a second language. For example, Kim Namjoon (RM) who did not live in English speaking country, he actually learned English in Korea and to be honest speaks better and with less heavy accent compared to few others.
Lee.Byyng Hun is a Hollywood star. He speaks fluent English in those western films.
In Asia only Filipinos are linguistic
As much as I love actors speaking different languages when it comes to acting honestly its not that difficult especially if you have a dialect coach. What impresses me is when they can express the right emotions while speaking their lines. Some actors focus so much on speaking the lines that the emotions dont really match. Id rather them stick to their original language if its going to just come out cold. I may be a bit harsh but thats just my opinion
Jung Ryeo Won looks very much like Christy Chung! Wow!
Choi Wooshik can also speak English fluently without his Korean accent.
He's Canadian, isn't he?
@@unihrini yeah he is, did not know about that. All this time, I thought he was a citizen of Korea 😅
They have my hugh respect, because for Koreans it's so hard to learn English and I also got some Korean only frends, who still struggle with English. Now that I learn Korean for one year, I understand them so good
How about Park Bo Gum?? He can speak quite good English!
What is so great if a person can speak english?its an attitude that is more important than language, looks, wealth
Learning in many of languages is a bonus.
Do u mean lee ji ah? She's good too.. Love her & Park eun seok accent very much.. ☺️
What about Ok Taecyeon...he speak english eloquently.
Not him visiting my country and I didn't know😢😢😢. Please come back to Namibia and most definitely Windhoek 😊😊
I loved Yeo Teo's speaking english with English accent👏👏👏👏
English is not skill but its also a great benefits everywhere when can speaking English
English are international languages
Great work😊
I'm from the USA and was not impressed with Hyun Bin's English. I heard part of his speech when he was in Switzerland for the watch company. His English was not fluent or smooth, there was a lot of hesitation and a strong accent. I should talk! I speak some French and Spanish, very badly!! 😂😂😂
English is the most easy language to learn, is not a big deal!!
Most of them migrated to English speaking countries since their childhood, so I think its normal to speak English fluently 😂
I was watching my lovely liar and I couldn't understand a word of what he was saying! 😅
He needed someone to help him pronounce it better
Yoo Teo is freaking good at english for sure
Son Sukku, Bae Doona, GongYoo, Ok Taecyeon, Lee Byung Hoon, Choi Woo Sik, they're good
Jang Geun Suk ❤❤❤
I like all of them, but my favorite and Kim Ji Hoon
These days it's good to know how to speak more than 1 language. You can go further in life and have more benefits from it. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
Park Eun Seok like a native speaker❤
Ma Dong Seok? Lee Byun Hun? Bae Doona? Kim Yun Jin...who have been in Hollywood films. Choi Woo Shik, Park Min Young, Ahn Hyo Seop, Han Yeo Seul, Lee Seo Jin, Shin Se Kyung, Choi Si Won, Youn Yuh Jung, Ok Taecyeon. Jeon Jong Seo. These actors/actresses deserve just as much recognition
Park Bo Gum speaks English pretty well, and so does Song Joong-ki.
All of them are impressive!
No Rowoon included? I heard him speak English the other day in a video clip. Flawless.
Park Eon Seok, Ok Taeyeon and Ahn Hyoseop.
At least, these actors/actresses are not arrogant just because they can speak English. Just like any languages, it can be acquired by anyone over time of using or exposed to it. The most important is not to be so arrogant to the extent of being mean to others just because of it.
KangDaniel he speaks English amazing!
Krystal Jung and OK Taec-yeon are both very fluent
1. some were born or studied in a foreign country. Know other languages.
2. Self thought
But also some just because you know some sentences doesn’t mean they are fluent.
It’s like saying because I know how to ask where the bathroom is or how much a item is I’m fluent in Korean. I can go up to some and talk to them in English and maybe they can’t even answer. Some just study lines of dramas or movies.
What about son sukku😢 He speaks the most sexiest english
Choi Woo Sik & Ok Taec-yeon should be on the list
Choi woo shik is canadian 😅
One more actor is Ahn Hyo Seop, speaks English fluently
Thank you... For making Jang Geun Seuk was on the list. He's quite good at speaking English & pronunciation though he's a Korean. He's also a good communication in Japanese Language.
I love and miss him. I wonder why he no longer stars in any dramas
@@fauzianalwoga the newest drama already aired sister. The title was Bait (Decoy) season 1. But i still cannot find where to watch.
Lee soo jin...WooJin..speak fluently English
All Of The Actors again they surprised me again with their flurrent English talking and speaking and they are doing such a good job at it once again i am so inpressed with Them once again i love it so much
I didn't know being able to speak English is something mind-blowing
You missed a lot. There's Ok Taek Yeon, Choi Siwon, Choi Seung Heun (T. O. P), Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yoo, Cha Eun Woo among others.
I love Siwon's accent. So natural.
