The Republic of Korea has a long history and has been invaded by many times by many countries. Although it was not a powerful country, Korea has become a powerful country that almost all people in the world know. Thank you for remembering. from Koreans.🇰🇷
Korea was my neighbor, and I was playing as America. He did literally nothing wrong towards me aside from giving up our friendship due to me aggressively stealing his technology. For some reason however, I hated his guts. Maybe it's because his military was so crushably weak for most of the game, but I celebrated my science victory by nuking his capitol and taking his neighboing city in less than five turns. It was the first and only war I ever took part in. Now, a lot of people had denounced me prior for my agressively stealing, taking over the congress, becoming friends with Polynesia (who everyone also hated because I don't know, Poly gets around fast after all), and wonder grabbing, yet surprisingly I won the respect of everyone by going to war with Korea. Then everyone denounced him, declared war on him, and crushed the rest of his empire. I *still* don't know what Korea did wrong, but apparently, *I'm the hero.*
In my saves, Sejong never really bothers anyone and is just generally easy to get along with. He just sits there and works his way toward scientific victory

The Korea AI acts pretty strange sometimes. Instead of creating a solid territoty with cities next to each other, it scatters its cities all over the damn place and gets destroyed relatively easily. Anyone else notice this?
Calcifer the Fire Demon I believe you are referring to the Battle of Myeongryang (명량해전), 1597AD. Contrary to popular belief, no turtle ships took part in this battle - most of the Korean warships were lost due to an earlier fiasco by another Korean admiral, the aftermath of which Admiral Yi had to deal with. This makes the outcome even more astonishing. 13 Panokseons under the command of Admiral Yi Sun-shin went against >133 Japanese warships and destroyed at least 30 of them, most likely a lot more. (Modesty was an important virtue back then.) The Japanese fleet was devastated and had to retreat, while the losses on the Korean side were minimal. Not a single ship was lost, and of the casualties, only 2 deaths and 3 wounded were reported from the flagship. It is not clear whether this represents all of the Korean casualties or just those of the flagship, but either way it is a pretty amazing result coming from such a seemingly hopeless and dire battle.
+Justin8e8(Just A Cardboard Box) secularism is a policy in rationalism. It provides 2 science for each specialist, if you are Korea it stacks providing 4 SCIENCE PER TURN
Actually, contrary to popular belief, the reunification of the Korean Peninsula may mean rather destructive outcomes for South Korea. Of course, the minerals, ores, land, and practically free manual labor in North Korea could mean good things for South Korea's industry. However, one must take into consideration the backlash that this action could have on South Korea's economy and infrastructure. Trying to bring North Korea up to speed could cost South Korea up to 2 decades of economical progress
Yes, it would be very heavy in the early years but in the end it would bring many benefits: it would slow the aging of the Korea population, Korea would enjoy those same 2 decades you mention with high economic growth as the North has to be developed (if well managed, investments could create a boom for years). Geopolitically speaking, the region could lesser the tensions if the unified state takes a more neutral approach (not too much for the USA nor for China). Maintaining the status quo is the easiest thing but the most dangerous one long term. Korea for Koreans.
@Citylife10 It's a pity his voice acting isn't as great. Oh well. I do agree the visual representation of Sejong is great in this game. Quite happy with that at least.
