Thanks for the tips. Another way to keep picnic items cold inside a cooler chest, is to use frozen ballons. Add water to balloons & freeze them. Frozen balloons are better on bare hands than reaching inside a cooler chest full of ice cubes and melted water.
I ended up using rubbing alcohol instead as i already had some without realising it. In England it's called surgical spirit for some reason. worked a treat, thanks.
If your gonna use salt in the water then boil the salt & add corn starch & keep whisking into it turns into a thick goop let it cool then put it in the bag you want to use. Add food coloring of course if you want.
