I can totally appreciate the ASMRtists who do all the extras and hand motions and stuff, but I always really love when someone has the gift of sounding almost like unintentional ASMR, the way many of us first experienced it.

I have to say, seeing you use stuff that we use in the Army on a regular basis was pretty neat. Compass, map etc. The beads we use as a pace counter (move a bead up/down every 100 meters). The write in the rain notebook is also a staple. The only issue I've discovered is that gel pens struggle to write on it and not smear. Your standard ballpoint pen or marker is usually the way to go

I would love to watch!

Good video. I would prioritize a good sleeping bag, some quality clothing, socks, more food, and a proper tent over a lot of the other stuff. Also, one real working knife could replace all your knifes and the axe. Learn to whistle and drop the two whistles. Get a gun, fishing equipment and a good medical kit in the pack. Also I see little need for a shovel and the saw chain realistically speaking, and these items weigh a ton. Also, I've never needed a stove when I've gone camping so can't see why it would be necessary in a survival pack. Also no need for a plates, or frying pan, weight adds up and it takes space in the pack, just eat directly from the packages of food or fry fish/meat directly on the fire, and get at kettle for boiling water. You can store shit in it when not in use.

I'm not sure you care, but I have some suggestions. This is coming from someone who has done amateur Search and Rescue and spent a lot of time in the woods.
1.) I would try to get a hatchet with a heavier head, this will make the harder jobs easier. Those small hatchets actually have more weight in the handle than in the head.
2.) I would get a Slimboy Folding Saw
3.) I would go with one Full Tang straight edge blade and one Swiss Army Knife or Leatherman
4.) I would recommend putting all of your firecraft into one bag and waterproof it. I would also add some Bic Lighters, they are cheap & awesome.
5.) I would recommend getting a travel size version of off and sunscreen to save space.
6.) I would get a military styled poncho, they can be shelters, they can be ponchos, they are great.
7.) Life Bivies are great in a pinch, highly recommend! I would say, see if you can get a woobie or a small sleeping bag in a Milspec or REI compression bag.
8.) Try to get a Canteen Cup or a Cooking Cup. I would also recommend getting an additional Nalgeane, just to stay hydrated,
    Over all, very good!

It's a good idea to keep a few plastic bags in the event that you need to make some solar stills. A cut up Mylar emergency blanket can be used if you don't have any bags.
Also, as something that is better to have and not need than to need and not have, a (compact) handgun. It can be used for self-defence and, in a pinch, for hunting.

    • @LLOYDSASMR
      @LLOYDSASMR  10 місяців тому +1

Absolutely! And I always have a couple extra emergency blankets in my pack just for multi use. A handgun is a very useful item for self defense and hunting in a survival situation.

Great video as always Lloyd!

I love the 3 day assault pack, it's called the medium transport pack now. Probably one of the best backpacks for the money, I'd recommend the Rothco brand one as it has better quality buckles and inner coating on the fabric.

the zipper pulls are the only weak point, they are best replaced with a bead and some 550 paracord.
