brilliant performance, really admire your control on the cadenza. You gave a fine touch to each note on those fixed tone wooden fishes(my best guess on their names) and this is not very common among the records of this piece. I would say this is the best record of this piece in open access right now.
One of my favourite pieces of classical music, from any era, that I've heard, and what a spectacular performance aswell! Cameron Leah is almost charismatic in his playing, he makes it look effortless. He also is the only soloist in a concerto I've ever seen look like they were actually enjoying themselves, which is a nice change.
As a composer and a drummer, I have always been turned off by how orchestral percussionists treat rolls. Most, I notice, resort to buzz rolls which sound weak and uneven. Your single stroke rolls are beautiful and clean while being even and precise. Wonderful performance of a great American Composer's work. Jennifer has a real gift.
Izzy’s World I’m really curious what you’re talking about...You see most orchestral percussionists play marimba rolls by resorting to buzz rolls? Or were you talking about the multi tom/bongo section?
I think your recording of this piece should have been inducted into the Library of Congress.
What an amazing performance!!!
thanks Adam!!! That means so much coming from you!
Ahaha noooo all you man, it's so good to see the whole concerto finally :)
I love Jennifer Higdon's work !
This performance is SO excellent !
Can't lie, this is very impressive, Cam. The precision is pretty mind-blowing.
Superbe composition . Belle place offerte au xylophone (vibraphone ?) . BEAUTIFUL

Why? Because you can....this is really lovely.
I like seeing he running around
Great!!!!
Is this piece broken up into movements by any chance? Or is it just one big long piece?
It's a one-movement concerto, so the latter.
There are 3 main bits tho, which could be described as movements, but all *attaca*
