The school turned a GREAT WHEEL into a freakin' BOBBIN WINDER???
OK, ingenious.
Evil, but ingenious.
Are you sure it's a conversion? Bobbin winders were actually made in that design. I've just sadly missed one that was already skipped by the time I spotted it but saved another. Company was founded in the 1890s and was still using them until December last year.
I'm a new weaver and watching your videos has been so fun and inspiring! Thanks for posting
I'm an old weaver and I feel the same way!
Deadlines have a way of including all kinds of murphys law stuff. Good for you to keep going!!! These roadblocks are so common when we start working for real right? You go!
Hi Andrea its been so lovely to watch your channel, and all the adventures you got upto, you have worked so hard and your work is lovely, I wish you all the very best for your future and I hope this past year has been all that you wanted and more, God bless
What a beautiful, engaging, talented young woman you are. Best wishes to you
That is something that people don’t grasp, after many many hours you have this piece and people are like is that all you’ve done. Weaving is so intensive
As someone who sews, those rainbow and black tarlatans are some of the most stunning fabrics I’ve ever seen - wowza wowza
I’ve been watching while I quilt. Inspiring!
Oh Andrea! Your body of work from this semester is truly stunning! Amazing and beautiful. I, too, cried when you received those gorgeous lilies from Ryan. What an amazing sweetheart he is. (winding bobbins using a spinning wheel is so interesting) Thank you for all this sharing.
I have finally managed to watch your last video. The clarity of your thought process and ideas is truly demonstrated in the presentation of your submission. You are amazing Andrea, and you will be justly rewarded for all the hard work you have put in to your simester in bonnie Scotland. X
What an amazing collection, Andrea! That sketchbook is so inspiring. I have loved following along for this Scottish semester. 🙂
Love that last castle design. Very talented
Your weaving is so beautiful! Happy creating 💚🧶💚
I adore your joyful fabrics! I married a Scotsman and your explorations remind me of my honeymoon. My fave is your bridge and your fairy tale castles jaquard. I see and would love to use your fabrics. I appreciate they'd be very expensive ❤❤❤
Loved your castle rendition so much. I’m sure life is very different now you’re home in NY. Looking forward to your final Scotland video. Success!
Fantastic! The dark makes it sing! Welcome home (know you've been back a while, but still.)
What a great collection!! Love your vlogs so so much!! Also not me watching this procrastinating doing my spec sheets😅😅😅
Your final samples and sketch book are all so beautiful and inspiring! 😍
The blue, pink and yellow horizontal stripes are vibrating! The color combinations match the rainbow.
Congratulations! This was fun to watch!
It’s so good to watch you taking advantage of your semester in Scotland, you certainly worked hard but you got out and about and had adventures too. I hope your memories entice you back some day, maybe bring Ryan next time
Great video! FYI the roast beef monster munch are the best! Those lilies are gorgeous. So glad he sent them while you are away as they are super toxic to cats aren't they!
I miss living in Scotland. What a wonderful opportunity it is studying abroad! 😊
Thank you for taking us along on your epic journey, I am loving it! Your achievements are wonderful, and you are just fabulous!
Hi Andrea, I'm fascinated by the pegs that you have created, I'm weave too but only on a 4 shaft so haven't seen before the ones you are weaving on...I love your Edinburgh inspired designs..Edinburgh is an amazing city to be in.😊
Beautiful work, and I think your professor was right to suggest you submit the whole body of your work. And how lovey is Ryan supporting you from afar with love & flowers. I hope the Tunnocks were to take home.
What an amazing body of work!
🎉Happy Birthday Andrea🎉 from Australia. I really enjoy your videos. You have really inspired me to keep weaving.
I love your sketch books❤
I have enjoyed all your work…and travels 🥰🥰🥰🌸☘️⚡️💫
What a great week! You've done beautiful work. I hope you're pleased with your results as you look back. Happy Belated Birthday. I hope all is wonderful with you. I look forward to the next report.
Love your work and especially your sketch book
Ryan is a treasure those were beautiful flowers. Happy Birthday you share my Sisters Birthday but she is a few decades older.
your weaving and hard work are inspiring! That loom looks like it takes a lot of physical maneuvering and strength to operate. Its crazy! I find just using a floor loom can be exhausting. You are a rock star!!
Happy Birthday to you 🎉❤😊
Happy Birthday! I love your samples -- I actually loved the ones that you didn't like also. There was one section of it that looked like little pastel windows.
Your study space looks so great with all the samples up, all representing the same foundation theme but still different from each other. Bold patterned wool outerwear -- yes!
And I noticed right away that the flowers had the same colors as your samples.
I'll be sad watching your last video in Scotland but I'm sure you'll come up with some great videos when you get home.
Congrats on completing his semester in Scotland!
Ur new vest is amaze. Ive never even been to scotland but your jacquard designs are so lovely! Also in love with the gradient stripe.
Taking your time walking through snow is definitely a celebration -- happy birthday months later!
I love that you got to experience snow in Scotland on your birthday 🌨❄☃
Happy belated birthday, and what a fabulous place to spend it seeing as it is on St Andrew's Day (the patron saint of Scotland)!
Hi Andrea, I'm really impressed with the amount of work you completed and how fantastic it all looks. Hope to see a garment or two made from these samples. Happy belated Birthday and love those beautiful flowers! 😍 🎊🎂💐
Hello Andrea👍🤗🤗! I’ve been many of your videos for a while now & was wondering if:
1) Could you do a Summary of your educational Textile Journal, from what got you inspired to start?
2). A chronological order of what Universities you attended - in pursuit of your incredible Textile Training!!
3) Anything else you can think of!!
I’ve been retired for 8 years & having watched your channel has made me wish I could’ve followed your example(40+ years ago)!!
I’m fascinated by the talent, skill, & knowledge that weavers possess!! Just like you!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your journal on your Channel!! 🤗🤗🙌🙌👏👏👏
I LOVE the rainbow tartan at the start, brilliant colours and structure
I’m so proud of you and your accomplishments! Your samples are very pretty. I like your Jaquard (?) sample of the buildings it was pretty cool. Can’t wait to see where you’re off to next 🌸. TFS
Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
It's been so interesting to watch and learn about this; thank you for sharing this adventure with us.
Edinburgh has a special place in my heart, so it was an added pleasure to see your trips there too. I'm sad to know these videos will come to end.
Wow, your samples are absolutely beautiful!!! Weaving looks like fun. Keep up the good work.
I just visited the campus yesterday. I'm on placement in glasgow for my PhD from Australia and your videos made me so want to go to see Heriot-Watt. It was so so good and everyone was so kind. I'm glad you had a wonderful time and thank you for sharing.
Ps. As a fellow youtube girly its nice to know that you uploaded this like 6 months after you filmed haha, makes me feel like I don't have to rush so much.
Happy Birthday!!!
I especially enjoyed watching all your weaving escapades, Andrea. Your samples with the navy blue in them were my favorites. And the photo you posted showing the jacket with the bold plaid print on the back was stunning! New York ought to snap that up.
Squeeee! That castle weave idea! Bravo! Good work!
Oh, love the gradient weave!
You have done an immense amount of work.
As an outside observer it seemed to me that a lot of the work you had to do was towards the end of the course, rather than more evenly spread out.
Firstly - Happy 28th ! 🎂 And congratulations with all the achievements - I thought the display with all your weaving samples looked gorgeous.
So fascinating to see how your warp complements the colors in your weft. Very dramatic contrasts. What a great guy, sending you flowers for your birthday. So grateful your warp was still on the loom for that last sample! So much beautiful work! Wonderful artists statement. What a collection!
I absolutely love the way you show the process. It's inspiring and intriguing to look at. + wow at those results. Thank you for sharing your journey!
So much fun! Thank you for sharing your journey 🙂
This morning I watched your channel for the first time. It was the one where it was your first day of school. I subscribed. This is the 2nd video I watched😂 it wasn’t planned. I’m looking forward to seeing many more of your adventures❤
You've improved so much! Cool we can actually see it and ive learned loads about weaving from your channell
Happy belated birthday. Your samples are so inspiring. Do you get to take them home to make a fantastical coat of many colors?
😍
Wow. Fabulous!
Love your videos - so inspiring.
Your work is tremendously beautiful and very inspiring! You are a lovely and extremely talented young woman! I found this video very entertaining to watch as well. I know you are going to do great things in the world of fabric, fashion, textile and design 🌹🥹🙌🙏💕!
love love the studio space
❤ Nice work
Sprint to the finish for sure! But the end result of your collection display looks amazing
I can't be the only one that also cried when you picked up your birthday mail delivery, right?? 😭💞💞
Hi Andrea! I am enjoying your channel so much. Say, if you don't get employment after you finish school, you might want to look what Tula Pink is doing. Her older fabrics are selling for a small fortune. Your fabric lines remind me of hers. She is self employed also.
Love this!!! ❤ we miss you
Lovely portfolio ❤
Congratulations to that you have accomplished during your semester abroad 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’m obsessed with your friends grey knitted vest!!! Did she knit it? Name of pattern …it’s beautiful!!!
Don’t cry I going to cry😢
Would love some slower sketchbook-tour-only videos
I hope you can take home everything you bought and made home with you.
The season?? Do you mean summer lol
Andrea you are looking good. How are you? I send you comments but you forgot me. ❤😊
