I love the realism of the painting.
I'm just recovering from a long, serious illness from a three plus month hospital battle for life, (oh, it's ok, I made it!) it took over two years to recover and I just caught this video in my feed and you've inspired me to bust out my oils and get back at it!
Just subbed! Thank you brother, I love your work!!
Jack ~'()'~ Canada
All the very best in your continued recovery 👍🏻
Thank you very much and I hope the oils will help in your recovery....all the best.
Excellent. Thanks.

Superb!!!!!❤❤
I really like your style of presentation, and obvious you have amazing talent , thank you for sharing .🙏🇨🇦
Thank you for such a lovely comment.
Wonderful again, Allen. It's a joy to watch as your general (not precious) applications of paint gradually transition into delightfully subtle and nuanced touches of detail.
That's a lovely comment, thank you.
I want to live there 😂 Stunning work and study. Thank you.
You're very welcome.
thank you for sharing these lessons, you've really helped with my oil paintings! :)
I'm very glad to hear that. Happy to help!
Very nice scene. Great execution. It is wonderful to watch an artist work through the process in real time. I'd love to see an image of any locations (photos perhaps) that inspired this. Maybe it is purely imagined? Coming up with the initial composition is such an important step. Thank you Mr Dixon for sharing this!
Thank you! Cheers! It isn't from imagination but it is from a myriad of different images, a tree taken from here, a hut taken from there etc. It's difficult to put those reference photos up because it is only a very small part of each reference that is used. I hope that helps.
@@allendixon Thank you - - - I can only hope to pull together images that well. Great vision! :)
Great painting, thank you
Thank you too!
What beautiful artwork. I've always loved oils, but got caught up in acrylics in my 20's. I'm 64 now and am going to invest in some oils...I'll be watching for you all your creations. Thanks for sharing such great talent!!!
You're very welcome, I hope you enjoy the oils.
👍👌
Gorgeous!
Thank you very much.
Jesus in the upper right trees at the 42 min mark.
I see it ! Wonderful !
I see it too, does that mean i'm blessed?
Jesus in the minds of persons who truly believe in Him. ☝️
I see that....good eye!
@@allendixon We are all blessed! Beautiful painting! Just to have our five senses is a blessing that God gave us to not only enjoy our surroundings but keep us safe.
Awesome
Thank you.
That is gorgeous, man.
I need to try oils
Great job Allen. Loved the whole process.

So such just proves.. video tags can be put in to video.
Thanks for the info!
Have you got your canvas pinned up to a cork board or something like that ?
Yes, I do indeed. I have covered it in a black cloth just for videoing purposes.
@@allendixon not a bad idea thanks
Great painting ❤️ could you tell me what you mixed to get that lovely soft green of the grass ?
It would be an ultra marine blue and an oxide red, with tiny biy of cadmium red and cadmium yellow.
Thank you. It’s such a stunning painting
Wonderful work. Thank you for the demonstration. For lay folks, what paints are these?
You're very welcome, The base coat is Daler Rowney (no point in using expensive paints for underpainting. The top layer is Rembrandt, M Harding and Winsor and Newton.
Thanks! It's so beautiful.
What brush are you using? It looks soft
For the soft brush, it is the mater series 273 from Rosemary and co.
Non mi piace è una realizzazione sorpassata di maniera
Are you talking about the painting or the brush?
