Thanks, gentlemen. It was great to listen to the men I grew up listening to every night recount this experience. I was only 6 months old when the flood occurred but I heard about it my entire life.

I don't know if anyone else realizes this but all three of these great local gentlemen have passed away. All of them were legends in local news. R.I.P. to Bruce, Carl and Rod.

Thank you gentlemen. Memories of the flood are still fresh in some of the people who were there. I was only 12 going on 13 at the time. I still remember it as if it was yesterday.

I was 8 years old when this flood hit Corning my family lived on river rd which didn’t get flooded where I lived but river rd was blocked off from just from the top of river rd going into Corning and the big flats bridge was buckled real bad! I remember seeing all types of animals flowing down that river I felt snakes between my toes when I rode my bike from my house towards Corning I was terrified because I didn’t know if my mom and dad were alright or when they were coming home my mom took my brother too my grandmothers house in East Corning and my dad worked at the Corning hospital I was with my brother staying at my neighbors house and remember feeling really scared and I wanted my mom and dad there was a large puddle in our front lawn and my daycare was across the street behind a house which got flooded pretty bad my family stayed in Corning area until 1978 when we moved from Corning to Ct once again close to a river but not on the banks like in Corning we had a flood in Ct but was at a smaller scale than the flood of 72 to this day I have a brother and sister who never left that area with the exception of my brother who came back to Ct and went to college in Ct lived in Massachusetts briefly then went back to Corning
