Believe it or not I saw Dawn first run (U.S.) at a suburban drive in theater. I was 11 years old (I had very undiscriminating parents). I was completely blown away. It was like being present at the dawn (lol) of a new horror era. When I tried to describe all the violent scenes and gore gag FX to my school mates they thought I was making it up. They refused to belive any movie like that existed lol.
That's too cool! You must've been one awesome kid. :)
This turned out great! Fun hanging with you Larry as always. Let's do it again in 2024!
Glad you liked it man! Definitely do this again soon. :)
Met Ken Foree (Peter) at a convention and he was so down to earth to talk to. Best story he talked about was when he was working at a movie theater and Mel Brooks would come down to the ticket office to see how the Producers was doing.
Dawn of the Dead 1978 (the Movie was Banned 37 years in Deutschland) rulez forever 💯👀🔨🍻🍻🍻 R.I.P. George + Flyboy 😢 greetings from Hamburg Germany Love this Video ❤️
Thank you, Markus. Appreciate you!
this one is a classic, one of my all-time favs
@Scream Scene is that a modular synth behind you?
if so, it's right up my alley - do you have any music demos?
Sorry, I don't know what that is. And no, I'm not talented enough to make music. I'm sure you are! I love synth but more on the side of indie pop.
I was 8 YEARS OLD. Our mom took me and my brothers to a drive - in on Landis Ave. in Millville , N.J. back in '81.
Wow. That must have been an experience!
Love both you guys, saw you on Rob's channel, both of you together rock! And great movie, I remember the protests at the theatre in 1978 lol
Hi Jax. I didn't know about the protests. What were they against? Awesomeness?! 🤭
@@screamscenereacts lol exactly, my hometown is Church of God central, they hated the violence, they also protested Monte Python's Life of Brian for being heresy :P
one of the best movies of all time (not just horror): great cast, cinematography, writing, makeup FX, score, etc., and the best real set you could ask for 🙂
it's not a giallo-style movie but Dario Argento, as one of the producers, was allowed to cut his own version and distribute it in Europe - it's a very different cut with less dialogue and a shorter runtime, also has a full Goblin score instead of a mixed Goblin and library music score
fun to see both, but Romero's cut is superior to Argento's
as Romero was a commercial filmmaker and documentarian type in his early days, he knew how to make this movie look and feel real, which has way more impact and gravitas than Snyder's CGI-laden remake with mostly annoying characters
also RIP David Emge (Flyboy) - he died about 2 months ago 😞
the bikers were a real gang calld The Pagans, with a few cast and crew posing as other bikers :-) the blood pressure guy is Tony Buba, the sound guy for the film and the brother of Pasquale (Pat), the editor of the film
such a great movie...
Thanks! And all that info definitely makes me appreciate it even more.
Just found out the girl who flew the chopper was also in Creepshow - Something to Tide You Over
Need to re-watch that. Been a while!
Yooooo, I know that guy! I think i've seen him in a fan film or 2
Yes! He's involved in a couple of NOT V.H.S. fan flicks. :)
@@screamscenereacts have you seem them? I hear they're good
the thing that makes this movie, the best movie ever made is how real it feels.
That's what happens when you have a master at the helm!
The zombies were fleshed out for sure. : )
Totally!
Great! It is very interesting to see your reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool movie 👍🔥🦾
Maybe I'll start a reaction channel just for action movies!
The head shot was Tom Savinni creation as many other effects like helicopter chopped head
also do a reaction to George Romeros " Day of the dead ' another gore fest Tom Savinis master piece
Ken Foree was also in
Leatherface 3
"Day" I remember very well. :)
Rob W is the man.....GO BIRDS!!
He is. Hooray.... sports?🤷
George Romero's wife appears in this as well as Creepshow, Monkey Shines & Two Evil Eyes
Oh, that's so cool! A Romero family affair!
@@screamscenereactsShes also in Romero's MARTIN as a key character
The dark ending would have been better. No one survives 🤘💀🤘
We don't know they did... after the credits rolled. ;)
