Much appreciated, I have 8 years of professional experience and our client threw this unexpected bomb of web app. This was very helpful.
How I do search in my layer with search tools Arcgis online
very clear. thank you!
So now that you created the web app for your users . Do you just give your user of your map the URL? Or is it something they download
You just need a url, depends how the admin want's it to be accessed. If it is shared as public than you can access directly in browser.
Is ArcGIS Online free?
hello my dear i need to learn ArcGisONLINE TO STUDY WEB MAPING BUT IT BECOME DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT SHALL I DO?
Negatu: There's a great ESRI class coming up in September which takes you step by step through the process and provides a free developer ArcGIS Online account. It's the DIY GeoApps MOOC. I've taken several of their MOOC's (Cartography going on right now) and they're outstanding (and free!). Sign up for this one: community.esri.com/docs/DOC-11010-esri-mooc-course-offering-calendar-2018 There's also some pretty good step by step UA-cam videos by ESRI and others but I've got no specific one in mind at the moment.
Link of 1st lesson?
Heya: here's 1AM Geogr 66, Lesson 1A: Introduction to Creating a Web Map in AGOL ua-cam.com/video/6pWlNdTfzkA/v-deo.html and here's 1B: Lesson 1B: Additional Thoughts on AGOL Web Map ua-cam.com/video/FKedgT_vQtQ/v-deo.html
Please do a dry run of your educational video so you know what you want to convey and are able to do so concisely. Good content on your presentation but too much time thinking on the fly.
Jeff. Thanks. You're right, of course, but these are meant mostly for my students to supplement other instructional material (some work better with video). No question they're low-rent production values but the times I've tried a script I just get balled up, end up having to do a lot of editing with a full video editor. So these are just done with Snagit capture and, obviously, not much um, ah, you know, editing... . Strangely, people have started subscribing to me in the last year or so. A heavy responsibility but, where available, ESRI videos, classes etc. (and their MOOCs!) are way better.Anyway, hope they help but, absent a raise and more time from my college, I'll probably continue like this. Thanks though.
@@gdurkee I thought it quite good and conversational. I did watch it at a higher speed, but many students new to the topic would appreciate the slower speed if following along. Thanks, it was a good quick overview for me.
