- A little about me - I just moved to Tasmania, Australia to finish my masters in Marine & Antarctic science. I did the best I could last year virtually and am so happy to finally be allowed into Australia. My degree is a super niche degree and here has such great opportunities, that it was worth me moving across the world for! Join me on my journey.

May I please ask why you like to use that method for coffee making? 😊
Oh interesting I saw a 30km traffic limit sign. I’ve never seen one for that speed on the mainland.
whaaa that’s so slow!
I actually live down Elizabeth street and go down to the shops there all the time, I wish I could remember what cafés to recommend where you can get good coffee... Maybe the Renown? Though that’s more milkshakes.
Hi Ashliegh,
I enjoy your videos. I've always found Australia fascinating, but Tasmania tends to be overlooked in most online content. It's interesting to get a North American's perspective on life 'Down Under', particularly because I was offered admission to the PhD program in Political Studies at Monash University. Unfortunately, at that time (2001), I had recently been awarded an OGS (Ontario Graduate Scholarship), which was worth $25,000 CAD but it was only tenable if I enrolled in a Doctoral program at a Canadian university. Suffice to say, for purely practical reasons, I decided to pursue by Doctorate at McGill University in Montreal. Long story short, I often wondered what turns my life and academic career might have taken if I had forsaken the OGS and obtained my PhD in Melbourne.
It takes a lot of courage to travel to the opposite end of the globe as you've done. I admire your sense of adventure and envy your opportunity. All the best in your future endeavours!
Regards,
Terry
i appreciate it! thank you
I remember a similar situation with a puzzle and a share house.. 5k piece puzzle ended up having 1 piece missing 😪
oh no!!
That whole Work section 😆
I'm moving to Tasmania hopefully next year! great videos! It's been so hard to find videos of people living in Tasmania on youtube! x
ahh yay that’s so exciting! and i’m happy to help :)
Never a fail, just a new learning experience of new place and how that place works. 😀
great point! thanks :)
Missing puzzle pieces is the worst! You end up doubting yourself before you realise it's a missing piece haha
it really is the worst!
As a Tasmanian living in Nsw now enjoy Hobart and the Taswezions take care
thank you!!!
I LOVE hanging out in cafes on rainy days. When it's beautiful weather I feel like I should be out doing stuff. Don't like recommending places to people, especially coffee connoisseurs because coffee is so subjective but Ginger Brown is a great place for breakky, if you can get a table! Also Daci & Daci, super busy also but lovely ambiance.
i appreciate it thank you!! and yes cafe trips are the best
Small note. locals call that mist "liquid sunshine". Don't let it stop you doing what you had planned for the day. Keep up the good work.
thank you!
I only do 2k puzzles for this reason, the easier ones go by way too quickly for me
Good to see you fitting into the Tasmanian, life style Ashleigh, That's got take courage on your behalf to travel from the US vie NZ all the way to here in Australia, not just staying at say Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, where a lot of people go from the States, to live and work. It's a great credit to you Ashleigh, to come here in my home state to live and work. I doubt very much I could do the same like traveling to the States , to live and work. Yes I've been to the states myself on a 23 day bus tour of three states of the US, those being California, Nevada, and Arizona back in 1983 nearly 40 years ago. My favorite city of the US is San Francisco, my favorite US state is Arizona, not because of the Grand Canyon, but because of the people in that state that are very pleasant. Oh yes most of San Francisco, I liked San Francisco, has a certain vibe about it that suited me down to the ground....Okay that's I got for the moment I hope your day is great Ashleigh , and may you get the very best of living here in Tasmania,....:>)
thank you so much! i appreciate it
@@coffeeenut how is your new job going
Be safe my new friend xx
thank you!
@@coffeeenut are you like Australia 🇦🇺 🤔
Ebay here is better than Amazon....
good to know! thank you!
You checked The Salvos for puzzles , 99% they will be complete
yess doing that in the next video haha
You didn't fail my dear. You just got some unexpected extra exercise. Are we going to see you getting out in the bush and viewing some landscapes?
yes! hopefully soon!
Looks like tasmania has been overcast since you arrived there😅
thankfully some super nice days as well, just lots of clouds ha
Don't feel too bad about "failing" to get a coffee at Born in Brunswick - you didn't miss out. As an ex-Hobartian and current Brunswick (VIC) resident, I can confirm their coffee doesn't cut it compared to the generally high standards of both locations!
ahhh got it! thank you!
Eastlands Rosny though opened in 1965 it grew more after the Tasman bridge disaster in 1975 and the eastern shore expanded after that
ahh interesting
Just throw the puzzle onto the floor and start again
cheers thanks
