Wanted to mention that the Pilgrim's actually use Pentaconn connectors and not standard MMXC, which can be a dealbreaker if you're planning on switching out the cable for them or if you're planning to use an MMCX cable you already have. Probably not a dealbreaker for a lot of people but worth mentioning nevertheless :)

Awesome to see some more IEM reviews from you Joe. My Hype 4’s will be here on Sunday and as someone who uses your cod target with Art’s tune, I am super pumped to have this one added to your database. Thank you!
Great review! I completely agree with your take on the IEMs you mentioned. You should definitely try the Tanchjim Kara for gaming, it’s an excellent performer. Surprisingly, no one has reviewed it specifically for gaming yet, but it offers a fantastic experience.
nice quickie joe. the 2024 dusk would be my favorite of all the ones here - it's unfortunate that dusk must use dsp, where the software is completely useless. my primary use case is on a pc, so i ended up EQ'ing it with peace. see if mark can send you the hisenior mega5est in the next batch - i think you'll enjoy that set very much.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
If i have to roll tips, I go with DUNU S&S for the IEMs that need more help getting a good seal (they are more of a squared off tip) or SpinFit CP145. Otherwise I typically try using what each brand ships with.
Would like a review of the 7hz g1 which is made for gaming with a mic to buy too maybe compared to some more expensive iems if they are very good! Good video tho👍
A much needed video. I had the EM6L, and while it was amazing, it wasn't ideal for a whole day of gaming because it got a bit fatiguing after like 5 hours. But man was it great for those 5 hours. So I recently got an Aful Explorer and it seems to be perfect for longer gaming sessions. It's great for immersive games just as much as the EM6L, and for me a more comfortable fit as i prefer longer nozzle IEMs. Its still awesome for competitive games i think - has equally great imaging and clarity as the EM6L, but the EM6L probably had more emphasis on the micro details. Those micro details were probably what caused the fatiguing after 5 hours for me and these both are equally valuable for gaming in different ways.
The explorer is really great, I think it replaces the em6l in that price range for hybrids. It doesn’t get harsh at louder volumes as well, which makes it perfect for rock and metal.
True it's definitely better for metal and still very good for instrumentals etc because of its excellent separation but I don't think it replaces the EM6L if you seek to have a competitive edge in gaming or you simply want to enjoy every little detail in a cod campaign for example that imo sounds fantastic. The EM6L edges out the explorer if you need some extra emphasis on such micro details. The explorer still has these yes, it's by no means veiled in any way, just that the sparkly treble of the EM6L does help in such conditions. But then again that's what you choose between the two. You're looking for that tad bit extra excitement or a relaxed yet detailed set.
hey brother, it's been more than a year since you did the best headsets/headphones video for FPS games and footsteps, i would love if you give us an updated version. also would love if you keep it on the budget side i mean below $100 for example would be pretty good. just an idea 😅
Hype 4 really is a great IEM one of my favorites, i keep buying new IEM's but i always come back to the Xenns TOP it is the best all arounder i got. My latest purchase was the Mega5est because of all the hype and for being at the same price range as the Xenns top so i wanted to try and see if it was going to be my new favorite and unfortunately it is not. I've been daily driving the Mega5est for over a month now and it really is a good IEM but yesterday i decided to try some of my IEM's to compare and when i put it the Xenns top back i just fell in love again. So if i had to do a top 5 of the IEM's i got it would be 1.Xenns TOP 2.Hype 4 3.Mega5est 4.Dunu Da Vinci 5.Aful Performer 5. I feel that after the Xenns top i'll only have some real gain in performance if i go over a $1000.
I have a canon 2 and the top model yanyin - Carmen. But after buying Carmen - I can't sell canon😁.. I really love their sound Ps please , test Carmen🙏 -if possible
IEMs are a particularly interesting, my IEM of choice when I'm listening to music is the Moondrop Blessing 3 followed by the Studio 4 then the Aful Performer 5 & Kiwi Ears KE4. The rest like Aful Exporer, Dunu SA6 MkII, LetShuoer S12 (with EQ) and the rest are used mostly for watching streaming content. Our ear canal structures are so different, I'm finding it hard to choose based on recommendations any more. My Moondrop x Crinacle Dusk (Dusk 2) should be arriving this weekend, I'm wondering what tuning I will like on it, I doubt it will be the much beloved Default.
Do you think IEMs are as good or better than headphones for FPS games? And do you think there is much difference in the best audio tunings for BO6 multi vs Warzone? I run multi a little bit more then WZ, but play both pretty regularly, so I just used your recommended squiblink BO6 settings for multi and WZ.
You should try the Mangird Tea Pro. I demoed the DaVinci, Pilgrim, MegaFest and even the Hype 4, I always get awe'd with the Tea Pro. Its much like a better and "corrected" DaVinci to my ears, and its more laidback and organic than Hype 4.
They could very well be in the future! This is my first batch of IEMs I was measuring that SuperReview was kind enough to lend me. I will certainly ask about the Tea Pro in the next batch!
KBEar 2meter 2 pin cable. About $25 on Amazon. Just be aware that some IEMs will get a little bass push/treble dip from running this cable, as it does have a slightly higher impedance.
Just stummbled across this video and channel.... Bro you've got a banger headset collection in the back there! I think I can see a pair of Liric 2's, Caldera's, HE800's, a pair of Focals (Utopia?) and Audeze (LCD-5's?) 🔥. Personally I'm rocking a pair of Monarch Mk III's as my main iem, but I tested the Xenn's Mangird Top and Aful Performer 8 and they get pretty close at half the price.
Softears Studio 4 had a bad tune? Thats crazy Jaytiss ranked them S tier Did you Tip roll? Amp roll? etc. I read about this stuff for months and settled with Campfire Fathoms. Oh yeah, with the right tips it has a more expanded sound stage. But smooth AF.
The tune wasn’t actually that bad, they just seemed to lack some of the detail and clarity others had at moderate volumes. I just didn’t think the price was justified for what I heard
@@GadgetryTech That is very interesting! I found that if I use DTS and shut off the headphone/iem tuning (just press the ex'd out headphones) It makes it slightly, but distinctly more analytical on these IEM's. A full body of individual noise, with seperation. Bell noises, like in Artbat Horizon, are more distinct. With Dolby, it is a 'smoother' or more 'blended' type of sound and works similarly, however, it blends sounds closer (like the waves are closer and slightly muddied) And I am convinced it works wonders on dynamic driver headsets like my old HD 555's. DTS worked great on the stealth pros for footsteps. It was a gamechanger. For music, once I got used to the tuning of the stealth pros, I couldn't unhear its 'flavor' so to speak. It wasn't until I got that Schiit Gunnr and plugged in my old 555's that I realized, the stealth pros sound stage was disgustingly weak. This was a major disadvantage in Tarkov. And so, my sister has my stealth pros now. The Fathoms, probably aren't 'the best' in the world, but for whatever they are, they image and stage like a mofo with JVC Spiral Dot Pro tips. Do you need it in Tarkov? nah my Jlab epic labs do a decent job. But its wireless, (so, possibly slow at times) has random chirping once in a while, and in metal music starts distorting in the high end. I don't know how I could be more happy with these Fathoms. I don't have all the amplifiers in the world, but I keep discovering more and more with music and sound than I ever did this year. Edit, I forgot I just picked up some Campfire Sabre's on their marketplace, they are on super sale. Apparently, good for metal. The fathoms can get slightly distorted or weak or hissy with some hectic metal, but its not game breaking, more or less, probably a weakness with balanced armatures. Maybe Planars or DD's are better for metal. We shall find out!
Chopin is most certainly a reference to Frederic Chopin, pronounced "show pan" where "pan" is closer to the way you pronounce "pan" (bread) in Spanish.
I have the DaVinci and the Chopin out of this lot, and I do like the Chopin better for more detail oriented music and the DaVinci more for like rap/hip hop. I don't typically listen to rap or hip hop as much as I used to. Now it's mostly classical, jazz, and movie soundtracks/scores. I originally thought the DaVinci was going to be an upgrade from the Chopin, but it's not IMHO. I'm honestly not sure what an upgrade from the Chopin would be.
Yeah I fully agree with that. The Chopin wasn't bad. Sonically speaking I think it's a better value than the Davinci for sure. Pure performance without price considered, I just enjoyed Canon II and Hype4 slightly more. Chopin still got 5/5 stars on my Squiglink site!
