We were thinking about trying UA-cam's 'rental' feature on all new videos for the firs 7 days (and then they become free) - I feel like this is the easiest way to let fans contribute & get early access. However I need to run this idea by a bunch of viewers like you first. thoughts?

Art of the Problem No worries ;) I also think it that way, that is it's boring having to sign up on an external site to allow that; it's as if I had to sign up on a site X to watch Netflix.
OTOH, this YT feature hasn't taken off yet, unlike Patreon, and might be a bit risky. I'd see what the audience has to say, if I may say.
PS: Do you also have t-shirts? Like those nerdy ones about IT

+Brian Rivera Yes Godel will make two appearances in this episode, what I'm most excited about introducing is his letter to Von Neumann in 1956. Incompleteness will play a minor, but important, role as I have it structured currently.

Yeah! Can't wait. However, which of your video playlists/series is the official Episode 1 and 2? You seem to have more than 2 series under Playlists but none, as far as I can tell, are designated anywhere as Episode 1 or Episode 2.

I´ve seen on the comments that you are raising funds. I suggest you leave a bitcoin address in the description for donations. Not that many bitcoin users in the world, but at least for them it´ll be very easy to support this channel that way, directly to you. If you're just planning 1-2 videos per yer, I'd say it's a toss up. However, if you're planning on more than that, it seems that Patreon (or similar) would be a better platform for interacting with your subscriber base. I don't know anything about the finances of either, so I can't speak to that, but keep us in the loop and I'll be happy to throw a few bones in.

+jcims I don't know anything about Patreon and I'm not in the video business, but I watched the explanation video, and I recognize the artist (or art style) as somebody who works for scams. That's still not enough to dismiss Patreon, but it's enough to make me suspicious.
Nehmo Sergheyev I think you're right to be suspicious of anyone that puts themselves between content creators and money, but Patreon seems to be working pretty well for some folks. I just don't know how much they take off the top. The thing i like about it vs. Kickstarter is that you don't necessarily need to pitch each video that you're making...folks just put money in the jar for as long as you hold up your end of the bargain.
+jcims I'm not suspicious of Patreon because of any deep research of mine, and I don't want to take the time to do that. I'm suspicious from seeing the presentation and the layout of the site (I didn't mention the site part earlier). As I said, the artwork of that nature has previously been associated with scams. I suspect it's the same artist, and that artist either was simply a hired gun or was the gun himself/herself. Now, it's possible this person evolved into someone more legitimate. A transformation is possible, and I'm not saying this person should be blacklisted for life. But I do recommend a lot of caution.
A quick search on Patreon shows plenty of people who believe it's a scam goo.gl/D3sNDd
Are you somehow associated with them? If so, is your involvement as a principal (not that you would admit it) or as a subscriber (creator)? And if you're not a subscriber, why not? Don't you have videos posted on UA-cam?
+Nehmo Sergheyev Patreon is a pretty well-known startup that has raised more than $17M in venture capital funding from some of the most notable investors in Silicon Valley. Saying Patreon is a scam is like saying Kickstarter is a scam.
