Nikko Shockwave RC Hydrofoil Boat!

A video my friend took of me running my Shockwave (along with other boats)
Got this locally in great shape and took it out for its second run at the local BAMM (Burnaby Association of Marine Modellers) meet at Central Park.
Stock electronics (non-proportional, 2-speed forward).
Ran using 2000mAh NiMH battery and it was struggling to lift out of the water. Any higher capacity would be too heavy. Recommend maybe 1200-1800mAh.
Not sure if it can handle LiPo.
Originally planned to upgrade to fully proportional hobby-grade remote system but decided not to. While steering could be better the 2-speed throttle works great when alternating between normal buoyancy and using the hydrofoils. Also, I’m pretty sure hydrofoils are optimized for a certain speed. Any higher and it’ll likely start skipping. But that’s just my thoughts in justifying keeping it stock.
