"Big tour jete, give me a sword!" haha love it. That would be a good one for one of the shirts!
I need a shirt with this quote on it so I can show it of to my sabre fencing group XD
I’d always thought that Mercutio’s mime before his death was meant to pantomime his line in the play, “a plague o’ both your houses”. Guess it could be interpreted either way! Love love love you, this ballet, and these videos!
"That's it, that's your wedding. No flowers involved. Low budget. Bye."
Thanks for the great video! And the little bonus at the end is really funny!
Kathryn Morgan It is! Thank you again for creating these amazing commentaries, they're really fun and interesting to watch. (As well as your other videos !) Keep up the good work ^^
I couldn't help but laugh at the backstage part
I literally said oooooo! when i saw you uploaded more romeo&Juliet commentary. 🙌🏼 haha clicked so fast.
I’m not a ballet dancer. Just a ballet lover. And hoping my daughter will take it and stay in it longer than I did 😂🤞🏼
But I do have Hashimotos. Salute!
This Romeo and Juliet series is by far my favorite commentary that you've done! The acting and dancing was so incredible. You and the rest of the cast captured the roles so perfectly.
Wow! The acting was fantastic!! Loving this Romeo and Juliet series!
Aww...Katie, you are like a fresh breath of air! You are amazing, your commentaries are just hilarious! I really love you and your amazing channel!
I’m loving the commentaries of the ballets! I watched the movie of Romeo and Juliet but I never really got the emotions and it’s really helpful with you explaining while the ballet happens
Seeing the Houston ballet perform this live was honestly one of the best things I've ever seen in my life. Thanks so much for posting these videos; you're a gorgeous Juliet!
omg I have been waiting for this!!
I DIE for these videos!! Thank you so much for the uploads! xx
I love these videos so much! These and the Pilates classes😄
I love your commentaries as always😃. Could you do a video on ballet vocabulary? I'm trying to learn ballet but I'm not quite sure which steps are taught to beginners and how many.
I just saw this ballet yesterday at SPAC in Saratoga and it was sooooooo amazing!!!
I live for these commentaries
Oooo, are you going to show us the bedroom pas de deux next?! So excited for the next part! Love these commentaries so much, they're hilarious XD
We were doing this exact scene in our GCSE English class today! This actually helped me to understand the play more! My exam in in may and I'm so nervous.
I love these videos!
LOVE IT!!!❤️
Nurse: "Alright you got what you want, low budget, no flowers, your married, lets go!"
Love it!
I LOVE THESE!
I love these videos they always make my day before long classes!!!
Kathryn Morgan speaking of lowtech ways to get on stage, I once had to crawl on my stomach during nutcracker to get onstage before soilder dolls! The kids would rush forward and the parents would hide me with their skirts as I crawled on my stomach. Lol!!
I love Amar!!
I really love Romeo and Juliet! I haven't had a chance to see it in person, but theres one full version on UA-cam somewhere that I saw :) I loved iiiit
Love it Katie!! What days do you upload??
I love this so much! Ps I saw you at YAGP!
Very interesting! Thank you!
Mercutio actually says, "plague on both your houses!"
Please do more of act 2 i love Romeo and Juliet xx 💞💞
Well done.
Lovely video as always. Katie, I have an idea; would you be interested in having a mailbox only for fan mail? I am sure many fans would probably like to send you some letter or something, and you can also do videos of opening them and such. I saw other UA-camrs doing it and I think it's a such a cool idea. Best wishes ;)
That's a great idea. I have been thinking about getting a P.O. box. So thank you so much for reminding me!
And Amar is going to be on Broadway in "Carousel"! So exciting! :)
Will you be doing the death scene with commentary? I have absolutely loved this series(and all your others FYI) so I would love to see that one!
WOW SWORDFIGHTS
"That's your wedding! No flowers! Low budget!" I died😂
"That's your wedding, no flowers involved, low budget, bye."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
"That's your wedding, no flowers involved, low budget, bye." and I'm dead hahaha
7:56 I am hurt.
A plague o' both your houses!
Early !! 💜💜
out of curiosity, why did you guys use real swords? I don't think you could tell whether or not they were sharpened/real from the audience, and it definitely makes things more dangerous. great video!
The sound- only the real swords make the noise. The ends were dulled, but still... scary.
If you can share, has the sword fighting ever gone wrong? How would that situation be handled?
Hi, Kathryn! I was wondering if you have any tips for dancers who are trying to get away from the barre on pointe, because I can do everything at barre on pointe just fine. I would just like to be able to do more without the barre. Also, do you have tips for choosing a ballet studio? I looked for the video where you gave advice for that, but I couldn't find it. Thanks! Your videos have helped me so much and I absolutely love watching them! And I love those little one-liners that you put on the t shirts. and they make me laugh every time!
Love this video! Do you have any tips for strengthening the hamstrings? I injured my knees last years and couldn't jump just for a year. I'm still having trouble getting off the ground in grande allegro, and I think strengthening my hamstrings would help. Any good exercises?
hey great vids, have you ever performed Carmen?
Can you do more of Romeo and Juliet please
Hey Katie, what would you recommend for someone wanting to pursue ballet as a career, but has an economically challenged situation?
Just replying because I saw that Katie probably hasn't seen this yet but this is her advice... don't be afraid to ask a school for scholarships or financial aid. They like to give out those kind of things and it can't hurt to ask right? Hope this helps!
Kathryn I have started ballet class once a week in December (but I do lots of classes online too) and I don't know when to start going on pointe. Am I late?
Any advice about foot pain? Specifically the middle of the foot on the bottom? It feels almost like it needs to pop but no matter which way I bend/stretch it nothing happens and I just keep getting shooting pain. I've already got issues from a broken ankle so I don't want to push it too much. Any advice?
Have you tried rolling out your arch? That can help release those muscles. It could also be that one of your bones is out of place - many dancers have a problem with their cuboid dropping.
What can I use to roll it out? What's the best tool? Also I've got some thera bands are there any exercises that could help?
It also sounds to me like plantar fascitis/neuritis; i had it and what is most recommended is to rest your foot and give specific massages with your hands (there are videos on youtube about it)
OMG WHERE'D SHE GO???!!!
Jonathan Staffod is now directing the ballet if Im not wrong?
Can you please post more videos on your blog channel
The only thing that bothers me in EVERY Romeo and Juliet show is that people get stabbed to death without a single drop of fake blood 🩸. If I ever become a choreographer and get in charge of the show, this is the first thing I‘m gonna change 😂
did you wear footed or convertible tights
Really thought someone was gonna be stabbed, thank goodness no one got hurt
Fuck school. That's the only reason I was late to this...
What would have happened to the nurse had her parents found out about what she did for Romeo and Juliet?
Pls reply to me
Romeo and Juliet is a comedy. Until it's not. After Mercutio's death- the collateral damage of the frivolity of the main characters- there are no more jokes. It's the logical, almost satirical fallout of stupid decisions. "Oh, look at these two naive aristocratic kids playing at love! Their recklessness certainly won't negatively affect everyone around them and result in multiple fatalities!"
That set is so ugly.I really don’t get what the designer was thinking. Is it just me? (But beautiful dancing, good job!)
I'm never a huge fan of nycb sets if I'm being honest, aside from nutcracker
"No flowers involved, low budget, goodbye" so funny!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot the login password. I love any assistance you can give me.
