Thank you for sharing my 1 year old is getting ear tubes tomorrow Morning. I am so nervous but I know he will feel better after surgery. He always has fluid in his ears.
I have a 9 month old who just had to have tubes placed in his ears. He has had 6 chronic ear infections over the last 2 months and no antibiotic has even touched it. He was given shots of high antibiotics and seemed to help but we just got to the point that we felt this was the best decision for him. Praying that this helps him out!
Thank you so much for sharing this journey. We are heading in for Ear Tube Surgery in the morning. This really made me feel better about my daughter's surgery. Thanks again.
I started to get chronic ear infections & ended up having to get over 4 surgeries done on my right ear (left ear never had a problem with). I've had tubes twice & a tumor that grew from the infection 3 times (each time becoming larger. not cancerous thank the Lord). My 3rd surgery was the worst of them all. The doctor reconstructed my entire ear canal and because the infection dissolved my hearing bones, I now have a titanium prosthetic hearing bone. The pain was unbearable. Praying for all of U!
Thank you so much for sharing this. My 6 year old son is on the third round of antibiotics with no improvement to his ear infection. I'm worried about having this done, and your video really has helped. thank you!
My son age 2 same exact scenario you mentioned. What is even more strange is his surgery is also May 16th. WOW...Wishing you and yours the best, this video sure does help with anxiety.
THANK YOU BOTH FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO! My Daughter Josephne is going to the tubes tomorrow morning. This video has help me understand the process and feel a lot better about it! AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I am 14 and hav had 6 sets total, one in 6th grade and 1 in 7th grade as of the most recent for me. I am a freshman now in hs so hope everything else goes well for u guys.
My 14 month old is going for surgery tomorrow morning. Thank you for posting this and helping me get a feel for how it's all going to to. I am a total ball of nerves, but am trying to stay positive and strong for him so that he doesn't suspect a thing and is comfortable. I'm most nervous about not feeding him in the am. He is super cranky and hungry and weusually give him milk right when he wakes up. This will be the worst part- not being able to feed him when I know he's hungry.
While growing up, I had bad ear infections all the time, I had tubes put in 5 times, on the fifth surgery I had my adenoids removed & was tested for allergies, afterwards started going once a week to get allergy shots, one in each arm, stopped having trouble with my ears. I went every Friday for my 2 allergy shots from Elementary school up to Middle school, the Dr. cut me down to one shot per week, then not long after that, stopped having to go for allergy shot.
Hello had the surgery this morning was very quick like you said. Everything sounds muffled right now don't know how long that will last. They gave me antibiotic eardrops I just praying after everything held I'll be able to hear at normal level again. thank you
My little boy (age 2) has never had an ear infection but he was lagging badly on speech and in speech therapy. His speech pathologist told us to get a hearing test because he wasn't showing any real other signs of developmental delays like aphasia or autism. We took him in and found out he has a lot of fluid after he failed the hearing test. We are getting tubes on May 16th. I am in shock as he never had an infection but this gives me an idiea of what to expect
I had ear infections ( chronic ) as a young child and they gave me a shot that cleared them right up and the next day I went to may ent appointment and he said I did not need tubes but in the past few months the infections have returned and at my yearly check up they discovered that I may have some hearing loss and I'm scheduled for a hearing test and after that I am going to see an ent again about possibly having tubes or the shots again.
so happy to see this. my 11m old daughter gets her monday and we've been ao nervoua about this but ready for ir as well since ahe has had 6 infections since november and antibiotics havent helped. so good to hear and see drom a parents pov.
I had the same problem as a kid. had it done three times as a kid myself. now as a 24 year old I have to go in for the more permanent style of tubes cause of having the same problem.
Ill have to get this done in my left ear. My right ear solved the problem by itself. I'm 25 by the way. After a terrible cold i had mucus built up in my ears. The left ear cant solve the problem and my hearing is terrible, it buzzes and i feel pressure. The doctor told me not to worry as one way or another I'll recover normal hearing. Still, im worried about it. So experiences are welcome. Do they work??? Like take the nasty symptoms away??
Hi sorry it took me so long. I'm still waiting for them to work. Right now they still feel very hallow and to this Day they still are uncomfortable. Seems like I lost more hearing but I pray you had a better outcome than me. Maybe in due time they supposed to fall out after a year so hopefully it'll get better

Hey. Thanks for the reply. I have no more mucus in my ears. But i now have microperforations in my eardrums lol. I dont know what's better. I hear much better than before, but still waiting to recovrer completely. I dont think I'll get tubes in. What about you? How is it going with the tubes?

My son had his done today and it went very well, thanks for the info.
Thank you for sharing. I'm shocked they let you film the surgery. We couldn't even film our son's labor due to liability risk.
My son might need tubes thanks for sharing this
