An even easier way to do this is to lurk around Battania until they inevitably go to war with the Vlandians. Go round all the castle bound villages, scooping up the highborne youth, then wait until the butterlords start throwing their 2000 unit armies at the Battanian cities. Join as a merc, break in and auto resolve the sieges. You don't even need to be skilled at tactical manual siege defence to just get stinking rich from influence and loot. Due to how ridiculously broken the auto resolve is, and how heavily it's weighted in favour of the defenders. Not to mention if your character has a medicine skill over 75, with doctor's oath, then you'll become a world famous brain surgeon in about half an hour with how much the skill will skyrocket from the sieges.
GREAT TIP! I'm still hoping fellas will embrace more of these tactics for their campaign because it's more rewarding AND fun, but you're right - this works in a variety of ways. Cheers!
Your videos and your passion not only for this game but for battle tactics in general, got me back into Bannerlord. Each battle truly can be as meaningful and intense and dramatic as you want it to be. Thanks for the videos.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it's kind of insane. Of course the loot is even more prolific. I had another siege after this I may show, and 'cash in' lol
I always found the best early game money making method was protect merchant caravans. Go town to town, battle, sell gear and prisoners. Do the arena fight then repeat. It's like 25-40k every quest accepted.
I’ve noticed it is easy to inflict a morale loss on the enemy if you destroy all their siege equipment, I usually opt for the fall damage perk and assault enemy siege equipment with a 2h on horseback, the enemy abandons the siege equipment momentarily to attack you if you get too close. Then you circle the siege equipment and hit it repeatedly with the 2h until it is dead and move onto the next, most of the time they surrender once they’ve lost all siege equipment and suffered sufficient casualties without inflicting many.
No problem to damage siege engine during ambush and finish at siege. You can also destroid tower even if it's already on the wall. And if they abandoned siege battle it's probably bad coding that they surrender to you and you profit from selling prisoners.
For sure this can be an option, of course you're then sorta stuck outside which is perilous. Also a lot of guys might say this is against the spirit of competition, so I generally don't do this...
If I want an easier defense I ambush with my 50 family members, they murder their 300 elite troops with arrows and when we win I leave their siege equipment at low hp, makes sieges much easier
This is what I do for my playthroughs. I just play as a mercenary and do siege defenses. It's so satisfying and the rewards in XP, legionary drops and loot are next level. Even better if you siege defense a Town caus you can donate all the extra troops to the garrison and sell ALL the prisoners. Great vid. Thanks Tactical.
Watch every videos, so inspiring especially when i makes the difference in battles at 1 against 4 and having few losses in front of a cemetery 😅. Every battles makes the game so interesting and want to get more challenges. Thanks a lot for all your time and experience 🙏
More intense than it had any business being. Very entertaining though. The micro managing was a great tip for my own campaign and how I can improve. Good fight!
Thanks! Maybe we could have autoresolved this battle but I rarely do that as it's kind of broken(exploit?) and also because obviously this is MUCH more fun and interesting.
I got this game two days ago! I never thought of that, thank you very much. Still learning, I learned about first person today and also having multiple armies. This game is sweet
You probably know this, but personally i would take all the prisoners and donate them to the castle for points. Especially with a mercenary, and especially with a siege and the castle right there
Glad you like it, and more is on the way soon, lol. I'll try to keep it to a reasonable amount of content but some of these were/are autoscheduled. Cheers and thanks!
Good video you made me burst out with the foot massage lol By any chance did you play warband I'm thinking of buying it I have about 150 ish hour in bannerlord and if you played it any tips would be helpful cheers
If you really want to make money as a mercenary, try to capture a fief (not as a mercenary, but capturing a rebel city after leaving your kingdom), then create a kingdom and get a lord to join you. Then leave and join them as a mercenary. The weaker a kingdom is, the better deals they givd you for mercenary work. Most I have gotten is 800 per influence point. It can be kind of hard to hold the kingdom alive (since its legit 1 lord clan + whatever mercenary clans they get vs the world), but if you can do it you can quickly get a couple million
@rockybalboa5611 not really long if you already have good relations with a lord who doesn't own fiefs (those desert the easiest). And yes it's risky, but it pays so well
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I mean its incredibly hard to survive. You're on a kingdom with a handful of parties. Also, it doesn't last forever. Eventually the clan you called over runs out of money
If I end up with so many prisoners from a battle I take them all to sell via tavern especially if u have helped defend a settlement/ castle. I know you can get paid for that but is it a bad thing to do for my campaign? Are there any negatives to do this as only have about 100 hours and I dont know the game that well yet.
For SURE. It's interesting that out of all the dozens of cities and castles with unique layouts, EVEN the different tiers of these castles and cities can add variability to the game. They've butchered plenty, but sometimes you gotta give credit to TW where it's due...,
Wow, it was legendary! Can i ask for a Garantor Castle defense? I just started my Vlandian crossbow-1handed RP campaign, and that castle is always a point of conflict when I am at war with the Aserai ( with level 1 walls for years ).
Hi! Sorry I tried to answer this earlier... I have done multiple defenses on castles LIKE Garontor. Try this vid: ua-cam.com/video/8HZHkARDug8/v-deo.html
Man ive been having mod issues with bannerlord for a while and it only happens sometimes when loading into battles which makes testing so hard, i wanna get back into playing it so bad man
Ahahaha very natural instinct! Eventually you become one with enough time experience character levels and armor. For now try fighting entire battles with either no combat or very little and once your command skill is better then start fighting and commanding at the same time
I think mass-escapes. Most cities/castles seem to hold between 50-200 prisoners. If it was a city, we'd be able to capture them all and sell as many as we could...
You're like a cool uncle. you have such an awesome way of talking to your audience
Hahah, great compliment friend, Im happy to be your fellas COOL uncle. Cheers!
9:45 😂 garrison level 1 to a t5 legionary “I’ll tear your limbs” was funny asf
LMAO, I LOVE it!
Literally the best bannerlord video I've seen 🎉
Thank you kindly brother! Stop by again sometime!

Glad I could bring you back to the battlefield! Cheers to more dramatic battles. (and you're very welcome!)
Another great siege defense, very well done :)
Thanks bud, siege defense is the best!
160 influence is a MASSIVE amount of money via your merc contract. Nice.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it's kind of insane. Of course the loot is even more prolific. I had another siege after this I may show, and 'cash in' lol
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions Yeah, and then you can double down and donate lords to your faction fiefs for even MORE influence =money.

Yeah I agree, that's a good way. Can take a long time though, this siege was twenty minutes and a half million gold. Just an option!

This is pretty difficult to accomplish on the hardest difficulties.

That was great. Really love videous where you have underleveled main and < 200 troops.
More to come as I start the main campaign in the upcoming days...
MORE coming, as the Aserai campaign is coming Friday! Cheers!
that intro is pure cinema
Thanks bud! I love me some cut scenes!
I always take all troops! You can always give them into the garrisson for more influence/money!

my favorite youtuber giving awsome relationship tactics along side with the battlefield ones :D
Sick video man. Well done.
Thanks! Stole your 'kiting' for some future episodes of the companions series :)
I almost can't keep up with your schedule! More good stuff, thanks.

Great video and great advice at the end of the video lol.
Glad you liked it! Haha, I'm SURE your significant other will :p
Nice video, always helpful and entertaining
Thank you for this video! Everytime à pressure!
Thank you, friend!
6:22 fun fact: if you get enough xp in a single battle, its possible to go past the hard cap of a skill level
Yeah I had a charcter once with like 336 twohanded...
With mods you can even go above 1000
Awesome fight! Very cool video.
Thanks, I had a ton of fun making this one!
Good video you made me burst out with the foot massage lol
By any chance did you play warband I'm thinking of buying it I have about 150 ish hour in bannerlord and if you played it any tips would be helpful cheers
No experience in warband I'm afraid - and thanks!
I love fixing and working in chaos lol talk shit and kick ass.
lol, exactly what happened here...
The best is in toarnament when your wife says: I will eat your liver! What day did i forgot now!?! 🤔🤪🤣
lmao
8:34 once you become a mercenary with around 100 party size you want elite units. You can afford them and they help with fights
Agreed! It's a delicate balance but it sure helps a LOT if you have battles to fight and make money
Hilarious commentary and great tactics and advice. 😂
Thank you brother - glad being me is hilarious :D
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions ach, it's just how you say stuff. My American friends love it when I get "animated" on mic too.
Actually an insane watch

Very interesting. Seems exploit-ish, but certainly within the rules of the game...
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I mean its incredibly hard to survive. You're on a kingdom with a handful of parties.

Looking forward to the campaign if there's going to be gritty fights like this one

As far as I know, no negative effect to doing that...
3:39 thats just a sea of units. It would be hard to miss tbh
LOL, the Sgt. York of the medieval times .
Some castles have better walls and spots configuration just in level 2 that's tactical interresting

Letsssss goooooo
You got it brother...
just out of curiosity if you only had to use trrops of one faction in a campaign which one would it be and why?
Battania, I made a video talking about this - ELITE archers and skirmishers...
What will happened if you take all 600 prisoners and dump all of them to the castle's dungeon?
I think mass-escapes. Most cities/castles seem to hold between 50-200 prisoners. If it was a city, we'd be able to capture them all and sell as many as we could...
