@hi-be4db He showed absolutely no sign of weakness or fatigue. He was perfectly fine. He simply got owned by Homelander because he's weaker. Also, Butcher didn't hold his own for shit. If you pay attention to that scene, Homelander was rocking him. You were just too focused on the fact that Butcher can finally take a hit from Homelander. Even when they both teamed up and jumped him, he still knocked Soldier Boy away and was choking the life out of Butcher before Huey came along. You can deny it all you want, Homelander proved he's stronger.

Exact same thing happened to Homelander's girlfriend. Was attacked and nearly defeated by several girls, then flew away.
Then half her body was blown off by Homelander's son. Then she supposedly committed "suicide" but let's be honest, vought probably killed her.

Honestly, compared to the comics, the show was pretty tame. After the 1st episode, I was legit scared to what I’d see in that episode.
Yeah they "overhyped" the shit out of this episode, but I'm glad it turned out to be as tame as it was. The comics are honestly so edgy and cringe and the real hype was the 3v1 anyway.
Herogasm the comic is about turning humans into meat through outrageous forms of sex. The episode instead uses violence inflicted on Kimiko and Frenchie to emphasize the same point. I think the show's take on the idea works better from a thematic perspective, because I actually care about the characters.
IMO the show is better than the comic.

Butcher was probably reminded of his dead brother and let go on purpose, because he didnt want the same to happen to Hughie. It was huge character growth for Butcher. He was willing to die, to finally achieve his life's goal of killing Homelander, but couldnt do the same to his closest (and only) friend. Sadly most people didnt seem to catch that...
