Location: On the road B104 at the junction road L09 direction Crivitz. Looking to the west, just north of Kuhlen. The recording is about 30km as the crow flies from Bützow and was good 10-15 minutes before the devastating tornado hit Bützow. The tornado had proven contact with the ground, as he passed Schwerin in the north. It crossed the Lake Schwerin, reaching the eastern shore. Then it went on direction Bützow, as I cought it on tape.

Der Traum eines Deutschen Stormchasers.
Wahnsinn.
Geiles Video ❤
Schöne Aufnahmen!!!
Vielen Dank!
Yes, it is a tornado. I read a lot about it, the wind speeds were classified as EF3 but the damage was EF2 like. Supercells like these are extremely rare in Germany or Europe and this low wall cloud looks impressive too. But all in all its nothing compared to EF4 and EF5 tornadoes we have down here. Whole communities are getting mowed down by some of those. Still, great footage, super rare too.
Florian Klug well american houses are shit. i dont get why people in the tornado alley still build so fragile. you know the EF3 damage in germany looks different compared to the US.
Not to rare and we have around 30-50 Tornados in Germany each year.
There is some clear F3 Damage like tossed cars in Bützow
violent Tornados also happen in europe like Haumont or Pfrozheim
Europe experiences an F4 tornado every few years and also regularly experiences F5 tornadoes. The tornado in Bützow caused clear high-end F3 damage, even if most of the damage, especially in the direct center of Bützow, where most of the recordings shown in the media were made, was in the F2-area.
There are several hundred tornadoes in Europe every year, many of them strong. Unlike in America, most tornadoes in Europe hit inhabited land, as the population density, especially in Central Europe, is much higher. The EF scale cannot be transferred to Europe, since buildings are much more heavily built here.
