Next time try the Oxtail with Rice & Peas, fried Plantains & steamed Cabbage. We normally eat Curry Goat with White Rice or Rice & Peas or Boiled Green Banana, Yellow Yam & Boiled Flour(Cassava) Dumplings; Steamed vegetables(cabbage, carrots), Fried Plantains & Avocados are also a staple in the Jamaican diet. Yes, our food is quite similar. We retained most of our cooking styles from the Africans, mixed in with the Indians, Chinese, Spanish & British. But being Africans, it is largely African. Jerk chicken & curried goat (goat curry) are African & Indian. Both are wonderful dishes that more than 90% of Jamaicans consume regularly. Our national dish is ackee & saltfish though, which i think is the most authentic Jamaican dish you could have in the sense of a taste you wont find elsewhere. Loved it 👍🏿

Hey guys love your content. Food looks delicious. However, Jamaicans usually have curry goat with white rice or rice and beans but never alone. It's just like going to an Indian restaurant where they serve their meats with rice. Even jerk chicken is had with other sides such as casava and festival. Although it was fine with the chips. But definitely curry goat is had with rice with salad or veggies on the side. But glad you guys enjoyed your first experience having Jamaican food.
We do not eat rice and beans. It is called rice and peas. Curried/Curry goat is eaten with rice, rice and peas, food - provisions yam (white, yellow, negro, etc.), green banana, cassava, plantain (green or ripe), etc. Let's be authentic not touristy about Jamaican cuisine.

Nice Video. Also to best enjoy the Curry goat it is best served with white rice. Jerk Chicken is also best served with Jamaican Festival (a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, and other ingredients), or a couple slices of hard dough bread. It also goes well with Fried breadfruit. Some people will add different sauces to the Jerk chicken while or before consuming it like Hot Pepper Sauce and Ketchup, Barbeque sauce, or other jerk chicken sauces.
Reggae Flavaz does pop up events at Jamrock restaurant on most Fridays and Sundays to bring a kick to the menu & offer some variety. Fish Fry Frydayz and Buffet Sundayz. We tend to have a "link up" day on Sunday afternoon/evenings.

Ladies I can guarantee you that when you visit Jamaica you will have a total different experience in the taste of our authentic prepared jerk chicken. People are pleasantly surprised when they visit Jamaica and taste our local prepared jerk chicken compared to the ones they have eaten in their respective cities.Another thing is, we don't know if the chef have any experience in prepping authentic jerk chicken. The next thing to consider, 'are they using real jamaican jerk seasoning?' If not the chicken is not jerk chicken.Throw a little seasoning on some chicken and put it on the grill then called it jerk is lying to the people, full stop! You have "CHINESE FOOD" and you have Chinese meal if you know what I mean.

Nice Video. Also to best enjoy the Curry goat it is best served with white rice. Jerk Chicken is also best served with Jamaican Festival (a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, and other ingredients), or a couple slices of hard dough bread. It also goes well with Fried breadfruit. Some people will add different sauces to the Jerk chicken while or before consuming it like Hot Pepper Sauce and Ketchup, Barbeque sauce, or other jerk chicken sauces.

Ladies I can guarantee you that when you visit Jamaica you will have a total different experience in the taste of our authentic prepared jerk chicken. People are pleasantly surprised when they visit Jamaica and taste our local prepared jerk chicken compared to the ones they have eaten in their respective cities.Another thing is, we don't know if the chef have any experience in prepping authentic jerk chicken. The next thing to consider, 'are they using real jamaican jerk seasoning?' If not the chicken is not jerk chicken.Throw a little seasoning on some chicken and put it on the grill then called it jerk is lying to the people, full stop! You have "CHINESE FOOD" and you have Chinese meal if you know what I mean.
