I LOVE IT. HE IS MORE DOMINICAN THEN ME.🤣 This reminds me of a time when I had to translate in Spanish for a nurse and when I saw the patient , I said to her, um you need a Chinese translator the nurse said, nope, he speaks Spanish😱. He had lived in D.R. longer then he had live in China. And he knew D.R. more than me , embarrassing, I was born and raised in the States. But there is a lot of Asians in D.R. Love my Asians.😎

+ Sooooo, get this shit. I'm Dominican. And one of my favorite singers of all time is CHEB KHALED. I looooove him & Rai Music soo much. I have almost all of his albums, and I also listen to & love: RACHID TAHA & SOUAD MASSI. I discovered them while working in a music store in New York City in my mid 20's & became enamored with their music & voices.

Algerians and North Africans are my favourite "Arabs", and *Algeria and Vietnam have a lot of surprising things in common apart from out mutual French past.* I have another Algerian female acquaintance who is also obsessed with Spanish culture, and now lives in Spain.

@@SeekThePaleSeptember Souad Massi used to be amazing, but she's really lame now; not really into Cheb Khaled either. BTW, *if you like Raï, you should try the albums "Best of Raï : 20 tubes de légende" as well as "Raï RnB" from Original Masters* , a French music label that prints in English for international listeners.

Being Mexican-Puertorican, mannnnm do people identify you as anything but from where you truly descend. From Middle Eastern to North African to Turkish to Asian (Indian, Afghani, Pakistani, etc.). Sometimes I’m lucky enough to have people say “Are you Puertorican and???”, and maybe it’s because my dad (Puertorican) has strong genes that passed to all of my siblings. Love how diverse we are!💖
