Very nice inspirational interview. When he said Match doesn't define if you are a good or bad doctor, it says it all. In gist when he said all the fight makes you a better person, better doctor, l can relate it myself. This is one of the best advice one could give to candidates looking to match. very nice interview.
Dr Mario your words gave a push.. was feeling low as things weren't going according to the plan.. You are a true blessing to the IMG community Thank you team sarthi for this video.
Thanks, Dr.Mario & Usmle Saarthi for such an inspirational video. The Usmle journey couldn't have been described in better words. I'm an IMG with MBBS + MS, but I have a gap year. How does it affect my future for a residency in the US?
I graduated in 2000 and currently working as Associate Professor in Gastroenterology at a reputed medical College in South India. I am done with step 1 (2017) and step 2 ck (2018) but couldn't puruse further due to personal reasons. I am looking for a fellowship in Gastroenterology without having to go thru residency.. is that possible ? Need your kind help
What about people who graduated 10+ years ago, 2011 graduate but were doing specialization from my respective country, did fcps cardiology back in 2020
All are great videos bu USMLE saarthi. Kindly tell if I have done full residency in eye(ophthalmology) in Pakistan with article publications do I have chance to get match in ophthalmology?

I'm at 6 years from YOG on 2023 , I have 3 publications and have been working under my said speciality in India and run my own hospital and Acls instructor and medical College tutor during this time :) i will be appearing for two more years of clinical research in the us :) I'm afraid if it will be impossible to match into a surgical speciality? At about 6-8 years during match ??? This is worrying me greatly ! Kindly shed some light
We didn’t understand a thing about connections , other than texting residents in programs 🤦♂️. We need some rotations which help us connect . Texting residents isn’t helpful at all . Since we need to be in the hospital with the faculty

Gap years can be overcome. Scores are important along with USCE and research

Yes, your score matters

May not be easy. Geriatrics and nephro are easier.
you can get a fellowship, even it is very hard, but to practice in the USA you must have a residency. my husband is GI too.
