I lived there when it was named Lamplighter Apartments from 1994-1999. It was the hood. When I stayed it was crack dealing and killings. At least 5 people were killed while I lived there and others shot. Roselawn Park basketball courts saved my life from drug dealing, robbing and gang life. And I just recently started watching your content, so I don’t know if you have touched on this topic but I hope that you have someone with you when you’re out blogging in some of these areas and you protection if you know what I mean, I hate to even say that, and it’s unfortunate, but there is people that do live in these Abandos
So I used to work for a company that owed these apartments and Roselawn and about 12 other Indianapolis apartments complexes I was sent up there when they sold Roselawn to fill in for the old maintenance guy to fix things so they could sell it to new owners and when I got there they told me the old maintenance man was stabbed to death while on the job. They told I couldn’t go in certain apartment building’s because of how bad the bed bugs and gang activities were. But the area was ruff then and now it’s worse. And yes it was horrible conditions is why it got shut down and they threw out all the tenants pretty much gave them a date to move and they didn’t help places them nothing. But I know a bunch more stuff if you want more info get at me and I can explain how bad it was I’ve been in both sides and one is older and then the other same company owed both sides. Was poor conditions then. Crazy i knew the park was there, never knew it was an actual playground and never went to it.
