Really good work by Yuvatma, please make more and more discussions like this. My take away always is "What some one can implement out of discussion vs. how great is speaker or anchor or topic". In corporate we give communication training of worth $150 but outcome is ZERO. Because ppt, presentation, speaker, conference room, materials are all great but "NOthing to adopt by others". So discussion can yield things that people can adopt. Example: if you face this tough time that i faced like xyz, try this 123 etc"
But, please continue this good work.

I don't know where to start...harini needs to unlearn tons of jargons in the name of shastra. She is not a credible person because she is not quoting where she is taking all these things.
She says Mahabharata is for women...but actively propagates in her instagram that women should not chant vishnu sahasranama.
Harini if you are reading this....spend some time in "atma vichara"

    According to shastra purana,
    1. Women are properties and objects. Look at so many marriages where they were just given away. Without consent.
    2. When bramhahatya was given to women, were they given a choice?
    3. Path to moksha for women is through husband. Only through paativratya but no patnivratya.
    4. Men can marry as many women but women cannot
    5. So, According to the argument given by speaker once you have stopped menstruation (menopause), you should attain vedaadhikaraa?
    6. What will women get in swarga? pls quote with pramaana. For eg men will get apsaras
    7. Men can leave wife anytime for Sanyasa and not viceversa.
    8. Somehow in shastras women always wanted to beget child and left alone for years while men went around to get married to multiple women.
    9. Only male child can give mukti to parents through pitrukarma.
Inference is vedashastras are by men for men.
Unfortunately, so many indian women are suffering because of these rules. Of course its much better than some other religions but is it best/right?we are supposed to be best. They dont need adhikara. just dont treat any human like slaves. Identify the problems and fix them. Dont be apologists. If not our negligible population will disappear in next 50 to 100 years for sure

During menstruation entering the presence of devatas don’t dissatisfy the devatas. Devatas constantly releasing the high positive energy and women at that stage unable to receive it and causes physical and mental health issues. Hence women are advised to stay away. Devatas are devatas and won’t go crazy angry because we didn’t do as they wished. Instead of shastra it will become superstition if you explain things like this 😢🙏

Madam is supposed to change her view point on Mother Teresa 😢 sorry she wasn’t a saint. Her true history is conversion. Liberals seculars don’t want to know the truth. However we Brahmins at least should not take her name positively. We can’t criticize openly I understand but at least don’t say anything about her to glorify please 🙏

@@shilpakatti7755 Agreed. For example, (1) her motive was to convert, not to genuinely help, (2) she did not heal the people she "saved", (3) she would coerce dying people to convert before they die, and ironically, (2) even within her own community and institute, there are reports of misuse of funds.

To say I am shocked by the backwardness that this lady is preaching is an understatement. I too am a Madhwa, and a scientist by profession. With all due respect to her and to her movement and service - I would like this lady to show the scriptures where it says women reciting the Vedas resulted in bad outcomes. Where in the Harikathamruthasaara did Jagannatha Dasaru say that he wrote it for the sake of women who were not allowed to recite the Vedas? So by that metric, shouldn’t men be excluded from reading/learning the HKS? I am not asking for equality for women with men. Men, and yes, Madhwa men, these days, have neither the interest nor the training to recite Vedas. However, there are many women, who are interested, have the desire to learn, but are “not allowed”. ಗಂಡಸರು ಮಾಡಲ್ಲ ಹೆಂಗಸರಿಗೆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ/ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. How will Dvaita Siddhanta survive in this situation, let alone thrive? Every other denomination of Hindus - for example - Chinmaya mission, Ramakrishna mission, and so forth do not prohibit women from learning Vedas if the desire is genuine. No wonder Vaishnavas are attracted to these movements much more than to Dvaita Siddhanta. We Madhwas want to live in our small world with our small thoughts and inhibitions and rules and regulations that have come down from the patriarchy, not from any scripture. A prime example is around minute 40 - this lady says we should see the face of a Pativrata in the morning to get positive vibes. If everything is in Bhagavantha’s hands, becoming a widow is also His will! This is exactly how so-called Madhwas have demonized widows and made their lives miserable. Please show evidence from scriptures where it says only Pativratas spread positive vibes. What a hurtful thing to say to widows!
I am all for exploring our scriptures, being spiritual, leaning into our culture, etc. etc. but we can only spread the word by being inclusive, not narrow minded like this.

The woman in the interview did not preach any 'backwardness,' rather shared a profound point of view supported by the scriptures. Some of us, however, suffer from the liberal disease and see everything from a convoluted paradigm. Stuffed with degrees of the world, we think we are smarter than those that respect tradition that subscribes to the scriptures.
I demand of the commenter, what scriptures has she learnt (that a woman CAN learn) that she makes these overarching statements in the form of questions - "where in the scriptures is it written that a woman reciting the Vedas resulted in bad outcomes..."
Because, if she had attended, she would have realised that there is an elaborate discussion in the brahma sutra (and 'teeke's thereof) where it is clearly mentioned that women and shudras cannot recite the Vedas.
Not only is the brahma sutra paatha THE text to interpret the Vedas, everybody (women and shudras included) are eligible to attend these classes when conducted for appropriate audiences, or women can learn from their husbands. Which is why the woman in the interview seems to be knowledgeable.
Therefore, my point - YOU do need Vedas to understand religion. You get everything you need to know from the Vedas from the sources that you HAVE access to. And the volume of such scriptures is so much, you cannot complete it in your life even if you dedicate every living minute. And some of these scriptures are equal to the Vedas (Mahabharata - Now, don't go "I demand this person to show proof," I am not making this up, it is mentioned in the scriptures).
If men are not reciting the Vedas, they should. Solution is not making women recite.
And then the commenter gets into a tirade against goodness derived from seeing an auspicious lady using some logic. Let me ask the 'scientist' - Isn't charcoal and diamond both 100% carbon? Will she wear a charcoal necklace to a marriage? I can ask 100 other questions like this.
As a person who leads a large global team of scientists myself (what a coincidence!), let me simply say this - we do not become Madhwas by being born in a Madhwa family or claiming so on the internet. We must study Tattvavaada. And there is enough in the material that you CAN study (through a proper guru) to gain the knowledge.
Dvaita Siddhanta will not be saved by some of us editing it to confirm to our societal paradigms. We must learn it and understand it. Each one of us. Not make assumptions based on our perspective and what we hear about our Siddhanta.

Thank you for assuming I am a woman, that I am a liberal, that I am stuffed with degrees of the world, but at the same time ignorant about our scriptures, and am disrespectful of our traditions. You are absolutely proving my point that Dvaita Siddhanta will remain an archaic, non-relatable, and impractical philosophy that will not appeal to the masses because of our close mindedness and judgemental attitude.
I also appreciate your lesson about diamonds and charcoal. I pray to HariVAyuGurugaLu that no woman in your family ever becomes a widow and transforms from a diamond one day to charcoal the next.
Yes, I am very much aware of the BrahmaSUtra reference to women and shUdras. That particular reference is open to interpretation. It talks of an austere lifestyle that should be followed in order to qualify for VedADhyayana. Is every man who is learning/chanting the Vedas currently following this austere lifestyle? On the contrary, that particular reference also exalts the benefits of the Vedas to all humankind - men, women, and all Varnas.
Also, btw - it is not just Vedas that are off limits to MAdhwa women. The Vishnu Sahasranama(until MS Amma came along), HariVAyuStuti, MadhwAcharya virachita SundarakAnDa, RAghavendra StOtra, these and many more are prohibited.
Respectfully - I am not asking for a blanket proclamation from UttarAdhi Mutt that women chant/learn/do whatever they want. Just don’t say such and such is prohibited for women, or that widows are lesser human beings, or girls need cleansing and are impure during periods, or some similar cruelty.
I am advocating for open-mindedness and outreach from our Madhwa community to popularize the essence of Madhwa Siddhanta, instead of focusing mindlessly on our MaDis and AachAras and rituals and prohibitions. I am not criticizing the Siddhanta at all, just taking issue with proponents like this lady, who preach a very strict, non-inclusive, obsolete, rigid, impractical, and highly regulated form of practice of this philosophy.

@@pramilaguru1 Ok, I assumed you are a woman because your username started with Pramila, that has nothing to do with the discussion here. I never claimed you had any degree, you assumed.
Brahma sutra is not open to interpretation. We have enough interpretations to make sure there is no ambiguity.
I am perturbed by your personal attacks both in your original comment and this response in freely using the term widow. Even though you start with "I hope this and that does not happen...," I feel it is NOT acceptable. What you are actually saying is "If it happens, you will know...", it is not difficult to interpret. Otherwise, why keep saying this to everybody you debate with? I never made such gravely negative remarks - Is wearing a charcoal necklace as doomed as people becoming widows in the family? I do not know who you are, I wish no harm to you. But your discussion is not appropriate. There are places we disagree and I feel it is right to place my arguments. But I find your remarks personal and unacceptable. I will stop discussion any further. I will pray more to God to protect my family and sajjanas.
To those seeing this debate, I will only say - do not get carried away by emotions. Learn shastras from authentic sources. Vyasaraja Mutt conducts classes, both for men and women online. Udupi Mutts and Uttaradi Mutt will conduct paatha on request. You can also go to pundits house and ask these questions and they will explain. After that you can decide.

@@pramilaguru1 I wholeheartedly agree with every single one of your points. This is the state of Madhwa women. They don't read vedas. They don't read upanishad. They only know to dress up for their husbands and do bhajan-kirtan. This lady is the hallmark of a typical madhwa women. These kupa mandukas become very angry if a women reads anything other than mahabharata, gita, ramayana, sulaadis, kathas, kirtanas and simple books. They actively put a woman down even if she tries to recite a simple vayu Stuti 😂😂 They treat their widows like garbage in the name of tradition and give dirty looks to non brahmins and married women who wear mudre on their face. Madhwas have robbed the public of Madhwacharya. The only shining jewel of hope for people like us who love tattvavada but hate the kupa manduka jantu of this sect is Sriman Bannanje Govindacharya. That's why I left listening to anyone else and royally ignore these women. They have no better work so they pull down other women who go ahead in spirituality because their male family members cut their wings. They despise using the full extent of their brain. Harini Pagadal is the last person to be taken seriously on this planet. She openly said vishnu sahasranama should not be chanted by women. That's her level. Please don't break your head over this. If you are a tattvavadi, please connect with me sir. We need more people like you. ❤🎉
