Vocal & instrumental cover of "Always in My Heart," the gorgeous OST/insert song from SukaSuka. I've always had a soft spot for Celtic-inspired music, so I fell in love with this song the moment I heard it, with its lush string textures, soaring melody lines and beautiful vocal performance. The full version, which was released out in mid-July, adds an extra verse and a gorgeous instrumental interlude. Putting this cover together has definitely been a learning experience, particularly with all of the string programming that I'd never really done before. I'm sure I missed some notes in the strings/piano lines, but I'm happy with how it turned out!
As always, Seika has been an absolute joy to collaborate with on this project. Not only is she an amazingly talented vocalist and awesome Internet friend/best pudding, I think she has the perfect voice type to match the original vocalist. (Seika x YamaTama collab when?) Thank you Seika for this beautiful collab, and I look forward to working with you again in the future!

I absolutely love this piece and a lot of the pieces from SukaSuka.
Wonderfully done. Wonderful utilization of the strings and the flute. Though, I didn't hear that cool movement the strings did at 2:17 mins for this that was in the original for this. =[

I just re-listened to the 2:17 section and there's definitely a cello part I missed :'D The funny thing is I could have sworn I programmed that in initially; I must have accidentally removed it :'D
Also EDIT: Yeah IKR? One of the reasons I started this project in the first place was how much I thought Seika's vocals resembled the original singer (:

But yes, this piece and a lot of them- even the damn orchestral arrangement of Scarborough Fair, were splendid.
I absolutely love working with a string ensemble now with Orchestral pieces. They're simply scintillating.
Strings have such a lush texture (: I love working with them, but I was in band rather than orchestra in high school and don't really know the right ways to orchestrate them
This project was a nice learning experience though! We were going to release this a lot earlier but then AX happened, and then the full version came out shortly after so we had to redo a lot of parts
They have so many uses. It's seriously mindblowing but awesome.
You have their Flautando, Col legno, Longs, Shorts, Tremelos, Stacattos, Pizzicatos, and so much more. I'm barely scratching the surface with their utility. LOL.
Despite the wait, you blew my socks off.
I hope there'll be more works with strings in your uploads.
Or hey, just hit up the Scarborough Fair, you already have your vocalist. =D
I definitely feel more comfortable with using strings now, so hopefully you'll see more of that in the future! And lol yeah, I haven't even scratched the surface of what my string VSTs are capable of
