So happy for you. I just traveled to Puerto Rico to visit my grandma. It's tough having to deal with acceptance and the stigma. You are so brave to make an effort and go and see her. It's sweet you got to visit her and enjoy each other's company. I can relate as my grandpa passed a while back and she's been living alone. Growing up in a Latino household, we didn't talk about much or each other's feelings. I had a similar situation with my father too and took me so long to get out of the abusive situation I was in. Time is precious and I wish you so much healing and success in your life. Your grandma looks happier to see you despite her grief. Much love.
My grandma is worth the effort, and we had an amazing time. It was so hard to depart and I’m still missing her now. I keep wishing I could do more to help her overcome the loss and grief, and spend more time with her, but the rest of the family is still coming around which makes it very inconvenient for us to meet. My grandma is so appreciative and loving, my fav. person in my whole family! Thanks for all the kind words 🥹
