Synopsis: In the year 74 CE, enemies surrounded Shule City. Risking their lives, Battle God Geng Gong led 300 strong men of Great Han to defend the city against the twenty thousand troops of the fierce and powerful Left Luli King of Mobei. They suffered heavy losses and quickly found themselves in a hopeless situation. Faced with helpless citizens in the city and brave men striding across war fires on the battlefield, the soldiers were loyal, patriotic, and fearless, but they still faced the ultimate test of human faith. Could Geng Gong and his soldiers defend their city to the end?

会关宠已殁，蒙等闻之，便欲引兵还。先是，恭遣军吏范羌至敦煌迎兵士寒服，羌因随王蒙军俱出塞。羌固请迎恭，诸将不敢前，乃分兵二千人与羌，从山北迎恭，遇大雪丈馀，军仅能至。城中夜闻兵马声，以为虏来，大惊。羌乃遥呼曰“我范羌也。汉遣军迎校尉耳”城中皆称万岁。开门，共相持涕泣。明日，遂相随俱归。虏兵追之，且战且行。吏士素饑困，发疏勒时尚有二十六人，随路死没，三月至玉门，唯馀十三人。衣屦穿决，形容枯槁。中郎将郑众为恭已下洗沭易衣冠。上疏曰“耿恭以单兵固守孤城，当匈奴之冲，对数万之众，连月逾年，心力困尽。凿山为井，煮弩为粮，出于万死无一生之望。前后杀伤丑虏数千百计，卒全忠勇，不为大汉耻。恭之节义，古今未有。宜蒙显爵，以厉将帅”及恭至洛阳，鲍昱奏恭节过苏武，宜蒙爵赏。于是拜为骑都尉，以恭司马石修为洛阳市丞，张封为雍营司马，军吏范羌为共丞，馀九人皆补羽林。恭母先卒，及还，追行丧制，有诏使五官中郎将赍牛、酒释服。
I would like to add as an avid fan of such Far Eastern historical movies (true life stories) whether if it is Chinese (Manchurian, Cantonese) Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, and among other historical events that have occurred during the lifetime of my ancestors.. the 13 generals of great han is a magnificent story that I have come across to watch, I do appreciate that I get to learn something from far and wide history of my fellow “Far Eastern Compatriots” although, I’m a full Filipino that really likes/love such great and true stories.. keep up the good work and sharing more historical with meaningful characteristics…🙏🇵🇭🇵🇭

I am really in awe of China's rich history - a lot of killings, a lot of bloodshed, a lot of sufferings by the citizens as war is inevitable when the country is not united, but we see great and heroic generals and emperors who tried their best to save the people from misery. It is only right that their story and deed is told. I shed a lot of tears in this movie. What a tremendous sacrifice by the soldiers and citizens! Thank you for a great movie!

Wow!!Glorious film!! with Epic battles they fought not knowing if they were going to live or die. Such an inspirational true story of incredible bravery and that warriors will always fight for what they believe in . I too was in tears at the end.

耿恭，字伯宗，东汉名将，扶风郡茂陵（今陕西省兴平县东北）人。耿弇弟耿广之子。
生平：
少孤，慷慨有将帅才。汉明帝时，他为戊己校尉，驻守车师后王部金蒲城，有屯兵数百人。永平十八年（75年）三月，北匈奴进攻车师，攻金蒲城，耿恭以毒箭击退匈奴。五月，耿恭以疏勒城有涧水可以固守，移兵疏勒。七月，匈奴再次围攻，城中粮尽，煮弓弩、铠甲，吃其筋革，和部属坚守不屈。章帝廷议救援西域耿恭、关宠，司空第五伦以为国家新君初立，国事未定，不宜劳师远征。司徒鲍昱说：“今使人于危难之地，急而弃之，外则纵蛮夷之暴，内则伤死难之臣。诚令权时，后无边事可也，匈奴如复犯塞为寇，陛下将何以使将？又二部兵人裁各数十，匈奴围之，历旬不下，是其寡弱尽力之效也。可令敦煌、酒泉太守各将精骑二千，多其幡帜，倍道兼行，以赴其急。匈奴疲极之兵，必不敢当，四十日间，足还入塞。”建初元年（76年），酒泉太守段彭、谒者王蒙、皇甫援率领张掖、酒泉、敦煌三郡以及鄯善国军队共计七千人，赴西域救援，耿恭率领坚持到最后的二十六人和援军会合，又奋战三个月。到玉门关时，所部仅剩一十三人。
2020年5月，新疆文物考古研究所的考古工作者基本确定，耿恭驻守的疏勒城位于新疆奇台县境内的石城子遗址。

Such an epic and glorious film. Geng Gong is one of the greatest warrior General ever and the rest of the generals. Very inspirational and enriching. Watching this movie ultimately says that war is ugly and innocent and defenceless people died. I cried at the end of this film. I can’t thank you enough for having a picture shown internationally.

So sad .. it’s about a siege by the barbarians against Han dynasty city - Yumenguan. The troops held out for 12 months and only 13 generals were left in the city before they were relieved by Han forces.

Not Yumen Pass, but Shule City. Yumen Pass is located in today's Yumen City, Gansu Province. The ancient Shule City was subordinate to Shule County, Kashi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The 2 regions are more than 2,200 km apart.
This is why the Han emperors were reluctant to support them. Luoyang is also more than 1,800 km away from Yumen Pass and more than 4,000 km away from Shule City. In ancient times, such marches were terrifying, and the logistical pressure and non-combat casualties would have been enormous.
