Jesus is the reason Allen… you don’t need angels, priest, altars or anyone or anything in between you and the father. You just need him. What a beautiful song brother!
That song was an absolute experience, and I know I'm gonna be coming back here time and time again until Alan releases this tune on his album. Damn thanks for that gift :-)
Allen is literally one of the best writers, artists, performers and human i have ever seen. I go to as many shows as I can to support this dudes art and have a few laughs with him. I hate myself for being such a cheesy fan boy but I friggen love this dude! His music has brought me through a lot of tough times. ❤
Lost my mom the same year and a few months before Allen. And I discovered him around the time when she got sick and we started taking her to the doctors. It’s also around the same time as my deconstruction. So his music means A LOT TO ME and especially, this song. Went to your show in DC in Sept, Allen!! Can’t wait to see you again!!! ❤❤❤
Need to know … did Allen replenish?! I suspect he is a fierce replenisher. Rick was like, “Ah man, you don’t have to do that.” Allen whips around, “NO GD it! Show me the fridge?” Or something.
song really took me back 13 years when he released the Unaware and is this love to world from his mothers living room... Love your people whanau

If every angel
Who carried my prayers to Jesus
Was actually faithful
Why don't it feel like our God sees us
I wrote a hundred times without an answer
Still my mom died from that cancer
Maybe it's the angels I should blame
If every preacher
Who carried our hopes to Mary
Actually reached her
Then why does life feel so scary
Cause I paid my time to Abraham
He spent it all on bombs again
Maybe it's my preacher I should blame
Oh, give me one good reason
For me to keep believing
That everything I'm seeing shows me otherwise
I am open to receiving
But I'm weary from the weeping
Good God, all I'm needing is a sign
Just one good reason why
If every altar
Where we lay our burdens actually caught'em
Then none of us would be hurting
Well I found my head that falls in waves
To look away from all the pain
Maybe it's my altar I should blame
So give me one good reason

Lost my Ma to Ovarian Cancer too in 2020. This one sent me into water works a bit. Cancer sucks. But Allen Stone doesn’t

As an athiest, that song almost makes me want to convert.
