I'm currently hospitalized with gbs. I was seriously harmed by it and got trouble breathing and doctors feared it would reach my heart. Today it is two weeks since I was hospitlized and I'm already up walking, though I do have some slight troubles with balance. The doctors say they have never seen anything like my development and chances are I will be starting a rehabilitation program this week. To all my fellow gbs patients, stay strong

i was hospitalized with GBS in february 2017. I couldnt moove my legs and hands. In the 2nd week i couldnt feel my face, i couldnt eat and drink. I stayed there for 3 weeks. i did 6 times plasmaferesis. After i came home it took me 3 months to completely recover. I started gym in july. Dont be afraid, stay strong
To your fellow GBS patients: some of you wont get through this. People need to realize how much this disease can disable you. My favorite person got it in 2014 and is still unable to walk. To young healthy people, I say, do not take any single day you have as a healthy person for granted. Life does not give a crap about your determination, will, or perseverance. It sure doesn't care about your plans. Love, appreciate, and become the person you want to be right now. You are guaranteed nothing more than this moment.

I have GBs for 6 years now
NEVER STOP EXCERCSING.
I was diagnosed in October 2013. I was 20 years old. Fully paralysed with unbelievable pain. With a lot of hardwork and extensive physiotherapy i was able to get back on my feet and even started working by Mar 2015. One mistake I made was to stop exercising regularly because of a hectic work life. My body could not take it any longer and I had to quit in 2020 and focus entirely on health again. It's been 3 years an I'm finding it very difficult to go to the next level because my weak muscles are constantly going under strain when trying to strengthen.
Nevertheless still continuing physiotherapy and hoping for the best. All the best to anyone who is going through GBS❤️
I was diagnosed in 2014. Paralyzed and went through years of pain n therapy. Its 2022 and I still have numb and tingleness yet I'm blessed to be here. I had plasmapharesis and lumbar punctures. Still under doctors orders yet blessed. Thank God.

I got GBS when I was 16 and got hospitalized for 2 weeks but my recovery phase started in 2nd week and I was completely fine in 2 months. It was almost 20 years ago.

I got GBS because of the Flu shot in the first place, doctors told me it was because of a diarrhea I got but it was so I wouldn’t sue.
I also have GBS but I am not yet cured it's been 7 years already

I had it when I was 10, and had to wear glasses had a walker and wheelchair, had to go to rehab and went to therapy for more than 2 years. It was a roller coaster for me since my dad cheated on my mom and was hiding a child along with it😞

I was hospitalized for 2.5 weeks at 26 with this disease - took me months to recover the ability to walk after getting out of the hospital I lived alone and was lucky to have the support of my parents that got me to the hospital and past it. It started with a a severe stomach bug. I’m still numb in my feet but have worked hard through physical therapy to get my strength up.
I spent 31 days. Only been home 2 months. Zero change. Still wheelchair bound. My pain actually went through the roof after IVIG.
How do you get help from a doctor? I’ve had these symptoms since I had covid but can’t get a doc to believe it’s real. I was treated for anxiety as a kid so when I told them I was in so much pain it was hard to breathe they thought it was anxiety

I was 11 as well! I just turned 11 and two weeks after the vaccine on my birthday I was paralyzed I’m turning 24 this year

I’ve recently had treatment for GBS Iv drips 9 days in hospital.
After discharged from hospital now I’ve got my balance back and able to walk slowly with sticks.
85% of people recover fully 3/6 months or over a year.
You will overcome this at some point and will return to normality.
Walking and building up your muscles are essential.
You will get there keep smiling.
This is a rather soft but accurate description. The part that is left out is where you will spend two months in a hospital in INTENSE pain. If you begin to experience numbness or tingling in the bottoms of your feet followed by the same sensation in your fingers/hands within a few hours get to a doctor or hospital immediately. The sooner they diagnose it the better. Once it begins you will not get better without help and trust me, you won't want to do it alone, you couldn't bear it. If you are diagnosed brace yourself for a long painful journey but you will live and get better. Two years on and I still suffer with weakness and crushing exhaustion but I can walk again although my feet and fingertips are still numb.
Hi Sew Me. Glad you are doing better. My son wound up with GBS nearly 2 years ago and is still in an acute care facility.
I've recently learned that glyphosate, an herbicide sold under several brand names, including RoundUp, is widely and heavily sprayed on crops, including just prior to harvest.
It is not only in our food and water but has also been found in most vaccines due to the chicken eggs and gelatin in them which is derived from cow and pig bone and it isn't just in their eggs and bone it is in human eggs and bone and everywhere else. It has been found to cause a disruption (molecular change) to our gut bacteria, which, in turn, causes problems with multiple processes throughout our bodies on a molecular level.
While there are many nasty things in vaccines, there is a correlation between the increased use of glyphosate and the uprise in autism and GBS as well as several other conditions.
It is likely that the cases of vaccine injury causing these conditions is due to the introduction of glyphosate into the food chain which found it's way from there into the vaccines.
In other cases it could be occupational, such as my son who was a baker and exposed to lots of powdery substances like flour and sugar which are heavily laden with glyphosate.
Others may be getting diets heavy in grains such as those who drink alcohol heavily or regularly, eat a lot of breads and/or pasta, cereals, etc...
Glyphosate is also in dairy products and in human breast milk. In fact it's in just about everything anymore.
I have been gathering information and have done several posts on GBS, vaccines, and glyphosate and it seems the problem is with the glyphosate in our diets and it is causing different problems in different people.
Other herbicides and pesticides are also causing problems such as pyriproxyfen which is likely to blame for microcephaly, not Zika which I've also posted about a few times.

Cases vary. I did not have intense pain, but more than two years on, I have just started walking without a cane. I have yet to try running. I am very slow on stairs. My legs just feel like some of the muscles were replaced with rubber bands---the power just isn't there anymore.

I have tingling and numbness feeling in my arms and legs, but it has been going on for a month or more and is not getting worse. Could it still possibly be Gillain barré syndrome?
I had GBS when I was 6 years old, then I couldn't understand what was happening with me. But now when I remember those painful days I feel lucky that I have recovered. God bless all of you who are currently suffering from it.

I was back to base-line within 2 weeks. I first noticed tingling in my hands and feet along with having constipation from the gbs. I went one hospital and they said the symptoms werent specific so then I waited one week until my mom had noticed I was walking as if I was drunk. I went to sick kids (an amazing hospital in toronto) and they gave me and mri and lumbar puncture and they diagnosed me with gbs. I was shocked at first but then the doctors said that I caught it early and most of the kids that come in cannot raise their hands above their head. Now almost 2 months later im back to playing soccer and being active.

My son more than 2 weeks at the hospital for GBS

12 years ago (I was 24 years old), the first toe I could not move, then the paralysis was spreading upwards, I was difficult to urinate, then vomiting, lastly, I had trouble breathing, I was totally paralyzed, even I was not able to move my head, and the doctor gave up, I was in a coma for about 2 hours, after which I woke up, and became normal again, the paralysis was gone. (I can walk, jump and run, although it still feels a bit weak, but in a week has returned to normal and healthy)
In the morning some research doctors came in, they asked for permission to take my spinal fluid, they said rarely did the GBS patients get back to normal in such a fast time/ just in 24 hours , but my parents did not approve it. in a few moments, some doctors again tried to ask for my spinal fluid, some even offered some money, but my parents still refused.

GBS Survivors here..been diagnosed with this love and hate disease in the end 2015,now? almost a year i keep exercise to get back that strength..
22nd of October 2018 I noticed weakness in hands and feet, hospitalised on the 25th as I could no longer walk / get out of a chair even crawl, ambulance had to collect me from home as I could not get off the floor - essentially weak as a baby. Had 5 days of the IVIG treatment and as soon as I felt sensation I worked the hell out of my limbs. I was discharged from hospital after 7 nights walking with a walking stick to help me be stable walking, next day at home I got rid of the stick. Still weak but working on that. Posting this so people who are diagnosed with GBS know there are cases where rapid turn around is possible - keep positive and keep working the muscles as much as you can! Stay strong all.

Did you ever exercise much before this happened?
I seem to have ask these she symptoms, and have lost measurably 2/3 of my strength. I can pick up with thats 1/3 what u could before, she with endurance, i can lift that lighter weight for about a third of the repetitions, and a third of the amount of sets, and i feel exhausted and out of breath.
But because I previously could do one leg squats, squat 200lbs, etc, it feels like my legs are weak, but I can just about walk.... Though my legs will randomly give way on me and i can just about manage to go shopping once a week.
Because it doesnt seem to be as bad as not being able to walk or breath the doctor are basically just fobbing me off, but i cant live like this and theyre basically doing fa to help.
Im in the hospital right now with GBS, it sucks but the doctors here are great. I really thought I was dying.
Hold on pls! Read my comment above. Back in 2013 I was paralyzed with severe GBS up to my chin for 3 months. Intubated. Feeding tube. Piss catheter etc. Wheel chair, walker, cane.. Just patience, good relatives and time. You'll be good! Good bless!

I have GBS and have had it for 5 years now.....I can walk but not outdoors as my balance is off but I push through and even go to the gym every day

When you say your variance is off, would you describe it as your leg randomly giving out from under you? Or how would you describe it?
@@ge2719 it’s like I’m walking on stilts with no solid ground to stand on. My nerve conductivity does not work well from my waist down. I also have a drop foot because of that
It afflicted me in 2005 had many months in a coma natural and induced. I was in a hospital 19 months. I was bed ridden till 2014 now can walk with a cane I'm 37 now but finally doing better

My father has GBS and has been fighting it since 2020. A little progress now that he began taking his first few steps.
I've had it twice.But to me the worst part was the sheer boredom. Your mind is still going ,but you can go crazy from a lack of nothing to do. Even watching tv exhausts you.

I have been a nurse of 26 years. I am still struggling with my balance.
I was 11, up to that point trained taekwondo for 5 years and planned to go pro... I had the flu and started feeling pain in my thighs while walking. 3 days later I woke up and started screaming from the pain I felt in my legs. I had a slow developing, less severe case, but even so I couldn't walk at all. Took me a month after leaving the hospital to relearn how to walk and I couldn't run for 6 months... I tried going back to training but I simply couldn't do it. It's been 4 years now and I struggle in PE class
My father had this in ‘08. Those were dark times, my mom ended up driving my dad to his business clients, and my dad ended up guiding my mother for doing the computer work that he couldn’t do...
Makes me cry even just seeing this. I had it when I was a 3yr old. Am all good now, but it brings up some memories for sure. I hope you all make a full recovery. You got this!!!!

Glad you made a good recovery. My grandson is 3 and was diagnosed with this a month ago. After 3 weeks in hospital he is now home. He's able to crawl and walk very short distances. He's slowly getting stronger and hoping he makes a full recovery. 🙏
Been dealing with GBS for almost 2 years. Developed after catching Covid 19. It started in my right leg and then quickly paralyzed me from the waist down. I spent 7 months in the hospital. Had to go on dialysis and got a nasty bed sore...and other fun stuff. My body is slowly recovering and i can finally stand with help. I know it can be depressing and overwhelming but try to keep strong.

0:10 The video starts just like ours, from the left elbow joint, sitting at home, during the day. My wife's left hand was weird, tingling. Nothing was visible. Blood pressure normal. He went to bed to rest. When he got up, his legs couldn't carry him and he fell. She shouted at me happily, pick me up. The face was swollen and the legs completely limp. The ambulance arrived in 8 minutes. At the hospital, he received cortisone and nasal supplemental oxygen. In the hospital for a week. In a wheelchair and walking at home for 2 months. Now walks slowly 1-1,5 km/h. Was 68 years old. It is now 5 years since the event.
Kun fell while getting out of bed and hit his head. This can lead to convulsive epilepsy, after 6 months.
Late-onset Alzheimer's disease was also diagnosed soon. Very weak memory, but still pleasant, neat and well behaved, a legacy from childhood home.
Corona had started in Finland at the time of illness, no rehabilitation was received.
This can be removed. This is not confirmed information. I later read that old carrots must be washed under running water in the spring because they may contain bacteria from the soil. These bacteria are not removed by cooking. The bacteria cause flu-like symptoms in young people. In parents, bacteria can cause seizures (epilepsy, etc.).
My wife ate a lot of carrots every day.

My uncle fell ill a few days ago. First it was numbness and chest pain, then he said it became unbearable pain and he had to be admitted to the hospital. First they said it was an infection but he got worse and a coma was induced while he was put on a ventilator to breathe and had a tube through his stomach to eat. They diagnosed him with GBS last night and gave him antibiotics. He’s still in critical condition but he’s improving slowly. 😊 my dad went to his brother and stayed with him from early morning till late night also trying to do his jobs for him and help his family while attending to ours aswell. I have an autistic brother also that relies on my dad to dress, feed, bathe, clean, etc so I assume it was hard for him. I haven’t gone to visit my uncle yet but probably will soon. Hope he recovers fast. 🙃
My dad got this disease, the doctor told us about it last night,, i was hella scared cause i thought it was an incurable disease, but after reading these comments,I'm relieved cause I'm living with my grandma and dad they're both my everything.i hope dad can get better soon,,

Being diagnosed with gbs at only 16 years old was another phase of life,,i recoverd after an year...to anyone suffering from this,, nutrition and exercising is the only solution

I am currently in the hospital, day 9. On day 4 they did the lumbar spin proceedure and found the spiked protein levels. It only presented in my lower half so i was able to research based on the protein and found this research paper from Cedar Sinai that described my condition exactly. Mine manafested very quickly. Within a half an hour, completely numb and unable to walk. No motor skills. When doctors came in for their daily update with no good news, i presented to them what I had found. They seemed skeptical but at least presented it to the neurology team (OHSU). An hour later they were setting up scheduled IVIG treatment. I have 1 to go and then off to rehab. At this point i have not been able to stand on my own
True I had it when I was 18 months but and now thirteen and I still have pains and tingling and I still feel week and I checkups and the main hospital but I go running and it actually helps strengthen my muscles so don’t be scared the doctors can do things for u
A friend of mine, she had an epidural. Could this be an entry wound/point as to where a bacterial infection could have occurred?
I'm post GBS (50). Over 7 years now I'm CIDP. Right foot 100% drop. Ex "wife" announced divorce and abandoned me in the Helen Hayes hospital (NY) as soon as I was waken off medicated 7 weeks coma... Now her behavior looks stupid and funny.. I'm without cane already. Drive my manual modified (no legs use) Sienna. 2 daughters 12 and 14 now live with their mom.. 8 years of marriage. She regrets.. But the train is gone!
It's caused by poisoning from a well accepted medical procedure. A certain type of medical procedure that has been immune from liability since 1986.

Hi from Houston Texas I been having these gB since I was 11 yrs old I’m 42 now. Is a real bad sickness I stayed in the hospital for 3 yrs. after. Rehabilitations when’s throw operations on my legs. And took me. A least 6 yes to start walking again.
I have a query. I had a very sever GBS in 2012 and was hospitalized for 7 months, 5 months in ICU. I was very badly harmed and had a cardiac arrest because of pneumonia which was caused because of veining of ventilator.. it took an year and a half for me to walk and eat food. I still have numbness in my feet . its been 5 years now. I just wanted to know if I am planning for a baby, would it affect me or my baby? are there any chances for the relapse or recurrence during or after my pregnancy?
With GPS for the second time in my life this is a very good general info on the syndrome GBS However it can be a little bit scarier But they don't want you to panic I will say the pain is worse than childbirth And the pain you don't even have to move to feel the painGood luck to anyone experiencing GBS

I have just recovered from GBS and my doctor couldn't tell me whether I will have a relapse.

Please I just wanna know what it means that recovery period takes between 6mos to 2 years? Does it mean that the GBS symptoms such as imbalanced walking 🚶♀️ and inability to use stairs disappear during this period?
It means it varies some people can recover in weeks even. My mom is almost 2 years like this and her balance is still not good when walking.
Was diagnosed tonight. Sitting in the ICU for at least a week.

I had GBS when I was 4 or 5, don't remember to much about it. I can't prove that I had it other than from family. I was treated at a hospital in Chicago which was sold and a few years later it burned down. I am 63 still have residual effects from it clumsy, loose balance, fingers not grabbing items,like it takes 3 times to pick up an item, coughing for no reason and the biggest is issues with the heart. I have normal beat or higher rate like I doing something physical when I haven't or really pounding or skipping a beat or 2. The last is palpitations. Nothing triggers any of these. If you have had GBS do not get a flue shot they finally put a warning about getting the vaccine for flue shots on the consent form.
Iv had gbs for 2 years now as of now I still have no balance and a bad case of muscle break down and I still have no strength at all

I have been getting tingling, and sharp pain all over my body. It started under my feet and it went up my body. I have felt sharp pain real fast on my spine, my neck, and around the heart. I might have GBS. I also have many headaches, bad eye coordination and have trouble hearing. For example sometimes I have a hard time listening to someone talk up close from like 5-10 feet away. It really bothers me. I also can sleep because I always get the tingling and sharp pain on my body and it drives me crazy. I also can't sit for a period of time because of the pain that I get and sometimes my legs feel numb as so my arms. I hope u guys could support me and hope for the best that I don't have GBS!

I know the pain of gbs its a very rare disease, its been a 5 years i have recovered now, i wish who are suffering a speedy recovery. Just think god as tested us,be positive.

I have a loved one hospitalized on a ventilator it seems Covid triggered the GBS. I’m open to helpful insights to help him on his road to recovery when he wakes up. I know he has a long road ahead. He is completely paralyzed at this time. He’s in his 40’s

@@meganfernandes497 he’s slowly making progress, upper body functions now, but still in wheelchair. He is slowly getting better, and came home about a week ago. Prayers for you & your loved one. It’s brutal, just stay the course with your partner. He is improving, he’s a fighter.
My husband got GBS the same way (covid) he was on a ventilator for 6 weeks. he’s been home about a year and still struggling. He no longer uses a wheel chair or cane but needs braces for his legs. Strength in his hands are slowly coming back. He has very little stamina and gets winded easily. He has such a positive outlook.

@@meganfernandes497 pretty much these exact side effect hit me after taking the Pfizer, and I can't get a doctor to even admit that's what caused it despite it happening literally right after, twice.
What was the department of the doctor diagnosed him? Neurology?

I have been a nurse of 26 years. I am still struggling with my balance.
my dad is getting this at 50 years old. Been about four weeks since he was diagnosed, and got moved home about ten days ago, because insurance would not continue his hospital stay.
I really hope he recovers fully from this, he already had a poor quality of life before GBS and this has just made it so much more difficult.

Louis MUFC itll end up okay. I was diagnosed about a month ago, and spent the month in the hospital, then rehab. they will do everything in their power and he will recover. hang in there❤

+Louis -- Meghan is absolutely correct. I spent 9 days in an induced coma in ICU and an additional week in the hospital to begin recovery.
weird thing is my dad has gbs and today was his fourth day at the hospital, been visiting everyday just hope he ends up alright

To anyone who has had GBS in the past, this is a reach for some help. My mother, around this time a year ago, was diagnosed with GBS. From what I am seeing, her case seems to be one of the more extreme ones. She’s still hospitalized a year later, can barely move her legs, and I’ve lost a lot of hope recently (being it’s been 2 Christmas’s without my mom). Can someone let me know that there’s light at the end of this tunnel? What do I expect at this point? And is this more common than I’m seeing? Don’t make me feel even worse than I already do, but making time to go see my mom in the hospital for a whole year now is only getting tougher and I just want to be able to come home from school and she’s here. If anyone would just comment if you know of a similar situation, that would be awesome.

I had this in the past, was lucky enough where no permanent damage was done. As well as being able to recover relatively quickly. The frustration of misdiagnosis from rheumatologists and so on was mind numbing. I seriously wish to all people who are currently dealing with this vicious disease the best. It’s a tricky and very subjective disease.

hey did either of you have it start with the left side of your face going numb, then tingling in arms then numbness of total face and arms then legs?
I had this. Scariest thing ever. 2 years on and I still have tingling in my finger tips and left toes and not 100% back to normal. I'm shocked how little doctors know about the cause of this because with all the research I've done and thinking about how I was afflicted with it I have learned that its a combination of leaky gut whereby food particles and bacteria make their way into your blood stream and your anti bodies go to attack them but go overboard and damage your nerve sheaths. The trigger point is that you're also under high stress and catch a cold or virus. Coffee is the worst thing for the gut as is gluten, alcohol, vegetable cooking oils, dairy. Eat lots of sauerkraut for healthy gut, fatty fish, avocados and eggs are super for mending nerve damage. Take magnesium, vitamin D3 and B12. None of my doctors told me this. They just wanted to prescribe drugs like gabentine and ibuprofen which are of zero help and just do more damage to the gut. Hope this helps people out there.
I got gbs a few years ago. It was because of a tetanus shot and it was tough, but I beat it. GBS is hard, painful and uncaring but beatable
I’m not sure if I have gbs like my legs feel like numb and I feel the pins and needle feeling but I can walk with a walker but without I have no balance I still have strength to move around too and my legs started feeling numb like day ago do you know if I have gbs?
My brother got it twice and was in the hospital for a long time each time and he is now in high school and on the swim team

I don’t know what I’m suffering from yet but I hope it’s not GBS, doctors I’ve seen have no idea what it could be, they only say: « there is nothing to worry about. » but I’m scared tbh... I can’t walk for too long or take stairs bc it makes my legs so weak, any move can trigger those “vibrations” in my arms, and sometimes I feel like a heavy weight on my chest and I have difficulty breathing....😔

No, GBS affects the peripheral nervous system, MS affects the central nervous system. Also, MS is degenerative and you don't recover. GBS comes on fast and usually people experience full, or near full recovery.

Sounds a lot like multiple sclerosis. So, unlike MS, GBS goes away? Is that right? How are GBS and MS different?
GBS affects peripheral nervous system, MS affects central nervous system.
