Stay hopeful when life gives you every reason not to

2024 soccer season felt defeating. Not due to the coaches they are amazing. Nor do to the players. They also are an amazing bunch. Eager to learn and play. But because Mother Nature decided to have a bad attitude.
Every weekend was bad weather. All but one. And what a glorious weekend it was. A weekend that was easy to be filled with gratitude and thankfulness.
Along with reflection over the weekends prior. Was I focused one the blessings God was providing in the moment? Or only focusing on the one thing that didn’t go my way? Meanwhile missing all the blessings that could have just as well slapped me in the face. And I still would have been blind to them.
Blinded by the enemies negativity creeping in. Making the promises of the Heavenly Father seem out of reach. And making a colorful life seem black.
But not today. Today I declare the enemy has no authority. I will let the light of my father flush out the darkness of the enemy. I will cling to all the promises of my father. I will be the light.
