24:07 Hi, combinatorics amateur here. In this case, its better to look for a random pair. Discarding 4 cards and keeping the 3 means you draw 4 new cards. If P(A) is drawing the three and P(B) is not drawing the 3, the odds of drawing the 3 (P(A)) is equal to 1 - P(B). P(B) is when we don’t draw the 3 after 4 attempts, which means its 20/21 * 19/20 * 18/19 * 17/18. Some easy canceling and we see that its a 17/21 chance to not draw the 3. This means P(A) = 1 - 17/21 = 4/21 or 19%. You had a 19% chance of drawing the 3 after discarding 4 cards. Calculating the exact odds of “Discard 5 cards and draw a pair” is significantly more difficult. However, as long as it can be shown that the percentage is greater than 19, it is the better option. You have 9 types of cards left, 3 of which (J, 8, 3) had 1 in the deck, 3 of which (10, 9, 6) had 2, 2 of which (4, 2) had 3, and 1 of which (7) had 4. If we discard the 3, we will draw a card X. As long as X has a second copy in the deck, you will have the same, or greater, odds of drawing its copy (compared to drawing the 3). This is because you will have the same number of draws (4) to match X, but you will be drawing from a deck of size 20, which is better than the case with 3 where the deck had size 21. Now, there are only 3 cards you can draw where this is NOT the case: 3, 8, and Jack. So 18/21 of the cases are strictly better odds. Also, even though 3/21 cases are worse odds, the 18 cases are *much* better than the 3 cases are worse. - If you draw a 10, on the first draw (2/21) you have a 19/20 * 18/19 * 17/18 * 16/17 chance to not draw the second one. Thats 16/20, so 1 - 16/20 = a 4/20 chance to draw the second 10. Now including the odd of drawing the first 10 to begin with, we have 2/21*4/20 =8/420 = 2/105 or a 1.9% chance. We can apply this logic to the 9 and the 6 since they both have exactly 2 copies in the deck. So now 1.9% * 3 = 5.7% Similarly, if we draw a 4 (3/21 chance), we can do P(A) = 1 - P(B) where P(B) is not drawing another 4. P(B) = 18/20 * 17/19 * 16/18 * 15/17 = 16/20 * 15/19 = 4/5 * 15/19 = 60/95. So P(A) = 1 - 60/95 = 30/95. Include the odds of drawing the 4: 3/21*60/95 = 180/1,995 = ~9%. Apply the logic to 2’s as well: 9% * 2 = 18%. Add 18% and 5.7% = 23.7%. Without even adding the odds of getting a pair of 7’s (more likely than 9%), 23.7% > 19%. TLDR; Its worse to keep the 3 and its better to discard 5 cards to look for a random pair. Yes I’m a type-A chatter.

I can see it being strong with cards that generate sell opportunities, of course -- but now we need to make room for jokers that don't do anything for our score. Constellation, Stone Joker, Steel Joker, and Throwback are all far and away superior scaling xMult and also trigger Baseball card. it goes hard in the deck without face cards, especially if you get something like fibonacci or wee joker and/or ride the bus. You could probably also use it to cover your bases in a straight deck that also has sock & buskin
@cyanthrope it's not a bad joker, but Id call it C tier. It takes a lot of building around. Especially if you get it late, itll be hard to make it work. Most of the time Sock and Buskin will just be flat out better. You're more likely to be using face cards, there's the joker that makes everything a face card, business card to gain money, which opens up a million combos there. I just dont think Hack has the same juice.
If your planets are leveled up very high, then most jokers that add chips and flat mult are not very impactful. If your planets are low level though (especially before Ante 8) then yes, you're recipie is quite good.
