in case anyone find themselves here because of the bug, here's a fix (if you're on pc anyway) 1. go to the cargo bay and make a new manual save, then quit out 2. either disable steam cloud for saves (properties > updates), or go offline, otherwise this won't work 3. go to you save game location (usually driveletter:\users\yourusername\saved games\arkane studios\prey\savegames) and go into the manual# folder for the save you made in step one 4. move the lifesupport.level file to your desktop or something 5. start prey and load the save you made in step one (in the cargo bay), i would lower the difficulty to easy also but that's up to you 6. enter life support (you'll know it worked when there's enemies and the level has reset) and make your way down to the escape pods; this doesn't work every time so i just ran through everything (hence the difficulty change) 7. if you go into the escape pod room and you don't find a phantom named kirk remmer (who is almost always with a thermal phantom), quit and delete the lifesupport.level file from your saves and reload into the cargo bay again 8. once you find, kill, and loot him the objective should update, so make your way back to the cargo bay however you like and once inside, save over the manual save you made in step 1 9. quit out and throw the lifesupport.level into the save file (manual#) overwriting the one you just used to find mr. remmer (alternatively i think you could just re-enable cloud saves in steam, but i didn't try that, so ymmv) 10. continue as normal hope this works for someone, i was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out
this game isn't perfect. sometimes you kill something or find something hours before you receive a quest related to that something, and then the quest gets a little bugged. this happened to me in the quest 'no harm done' and in this quest 'where's kirk?'. i figured out the 1st quest, but i never did find kirk.

Me too, when I was there, I had always different fantom, but no Kirk, it´s because I was before there and have bug in game...
3 years later this is still a problem lol
this sucks :( mine is bugged. when i go to computer and click find kirk...i get an X on the quest and it cancels it out
