I knew that people would recognize Katamari and NGE font (it's Times New Roman actually, but stretched :D ) but nailing the Haruhi OST to Disappearance even? I salute you. I think I like nothing more than using obscure anime OST's and references, and this episode has bunch more of that : >
@@DCTekkie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is an amazing movie. I have it in my shelf on Bluray. Patiently waiting for more light novel stuff though.
@@DCTekkie One question actually related to the content of your video. What OS are the company servers running? I guess something stable. No compatibility issues there?
hey man this is a great video. i love your straightforward, down to earth explanation of your own use case and logic/reasoning. Thanks for making this and I hope to see more like this!
Based. I think I mostly agree with you that as a sysadmin your laptop is mostly for browsing the web and using it as a glorified terminal. I work in a corporate which requires the use of Winodws, which is disappointing, but I must understand that devoting time, training and resources to deploy and maintain a third operating system (besides Windows and MacOS) is not really viable, thankfully WSL2 and virtual machines exists.
Exactly! I do have dualboot on this laptop with Windows11 and in terms of only functionality Windows with WSL is as viable as Linux BUT it literally drains the battery faster and in idle my fans are constantly spinning. Windows in not inherently bad, the Microsoft's policies on ads and licenses are, but in corporate environment nobody is running Windows Home where you can't configure shit
Nice video👏👍 I agree, in most use cases, the distro doesnt matter. But certainly, Arch is not for beginners, Ubuntu based like Mint and Zorin is ok there (may change soon). When you need bleeding edge, Fedora may be better. I prefer distros that please me out of the box, so i dont need a lot of config. Pop OS served me for years (will change to Fedora or Endeavour). My server OS will forever be proxmox btw😉 Before recommending, i always ask people what exactly they want to do. My grandma got Chrome OS Flex installed, as its exactly what she needs.
Dialogue from work today: - What Firefox version do you have? Guy1 (Debian) - 130 Me (Arch) - 130 Guy2 ( GENTOO ) - 126, i haven't been bothered to recompile since January :D
This guy is such a Weeb. Uses NGE font and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya OST 😂
