Ive been dipping in and out of reselling for a few years. I hadn't realised it was a serious thing! By chance i came across reselling video on here around about the same time as have a difference of opinion with my employer. I walked out and jumped into reselling full time, i bought a big shed and have been going for just over 3 months. Im not earning a fortune but im getting by. And most importantly im happy! Your videos, along with others are a constant source of useful information and help. Without them i would probably have given up by now. Keep them coming please
These videos are always great. It shows the ups and downs of reselling! Us views trust you more, we know your honest and there is nothing staged or clickbait. As long as you enjoy making them, i enjoy watching them!
As someone who also flips stuff on eBay, I love watching any kind of videos you put out. I think those of us that do eBay get a certain kind of enjoyment out of videos like these, more so than people that don't do this, regardless of how successful you are in each video. These kinds of videos in particular are great when you find stuff, but are also informative for those of us looking out for stuff as you mention how much stuff is worth regardless if you pick them up or not. It's always enjoyable to watch anyway and not only lets us see how you're getting on with eBay, but also gives people like me the extra motivation to get on a do more! I think it would be super cool to see more in depth stuff every now and then like the listing and/or packaging process. Maybe even like a vlog style video rather than just these shorter hunting videos. Just an idea if you're not finding much. But I love these kinds of videos so I'd love to see you stick with doing these! 🙂
Appreciate the feedback Tom. Not sure about the listing and packaging mind... I just do everything off the kitchen table. Nothing glamorous in it at all tbh
The guys in uniforms were after you at the start😂. Glad you posted the vid as each item you talk about you pack info on it for us. So although you don't win we do. Lots of sales ( some quick) which is great for you. Well done. Prices were mad but i think you knew that was going to be the case so you were never going to get your head in it. Refresh and Go again. Good luck.
We love watching your videos regardless of the content, always something to learn but nice to see what you’re up to. Really appreciate the time you put in to your videos which help us out. Rich
Love the content Ian . The good the bad and the ugly prices where you live are so very expensive . Our charity shops here are split 50/50 cheap and fast moving or slow and holding too much stock!! The cheaper ones are never empty especially on the 50p Saturdays everything absolutely everything is 50p. The other ones try to squeeze too much money so they always end up not getting much trade. I only go into those on occasion to see if they missed anything. It would nearly pay you to get a ferry over and fill a van lol
Thank you for the video. We definitely want you to continue posting vids, even when not much picked up. We can get quite down when not finding much on sourcing trips, so it's good to see that others experience the same. It can't always be good 👍
Love all your videos, especially when you don’t find much. Sometimes I end up with nothing from the charity shops so it’s nice to know I’m not the only one. Would love to see a video with some helpful tips when it comes to buying branded items, how to spot a fake etc. Enjoying the content, keep it coming 👍🏻
I mentioned on a Luxury Pickers vid the other week how i really rate your vids because you show the whole spectrum of the reselling i really respect that . Keep up the good work 👍:)
Having started my reselling journey off the back of a couple of UA-cam Resellers I use to watch back in 2016/17, I can safely say that the videos are the number 1 reason Charity shops/Facebook Marketplace and some Car boot sellers massively overprice the stock. Because it is shown there is money in reselling everywhere else has realised they can make a lot more money doing it themselves. This is no dig to UA-camrs at all, it just was always going to be a knock on affect. I have seen prices over the past 5 or 6 years especially charity shops! Keep up the videos though mate, awesome stuff!
I think youtubers are an easy target for blame in this situation when really the cause is likely much deeper. Most charity shops have taken a strategic decision to sell products on ebay before they even reach the shop floor. Its sensible business for them to make the most money out of products. That means volunteers in the stores are already researching the items so they can send the best ones to ebay. That's not video influenced. They're looking most items up already and would be using ebay regardless. Its very easy to benchmark new items against what they sell for online. Ebay/vinted/depop provide a good guide to the 2nd hand market of a product. Its still a business decision to price match vs sell cheap in volume... that's not video driven. The cost of living crisis may mean more people buy 2nd hand from charity shops. Demand is higher so maybe they up the price as there is competition for the stock. Rising inflation means things are generally more expensive too... perhaps the shops are charging more to offset some of that. Videos provide awareness that reselling is happening. Why should that impact the price on the shop floor!? I think the youtuber influence is more about empowering more people to resell providing more reseller competition... but that's a different topic.
I'm just going on my experience since I started dabbling in reselling and watching the videos from 7 or so years ago mate. I saw a clear difference in shop prices before UA-cam videos were getting popular to how they are nowadays. The bigger the charity the more the prices are higher. Yes it makes sense for them to sell on ebay but I believe they didn't realise this until their researchers saw how much people were making from reselling their goods and instead decided to implement the changes so they didn't lose out. Most businesses these days hire people to actively look at social media to see trends that will help business, 1 of which is the reselling community and hence why prices over time have started to go up, this mainly being from UA-cam and Instagram. Remember charity shops were actually started to provide poorer families the chance to obtain items at a cheaper price as well as provide money towards the charity. Obviously reselling has had a negative affect on that aspect for people who needed that service. As a full time reseller I have very much leaned away from charity shops myself but that's personal preference. Like I said before its nothing against UA-cam resellers, if it wasn't for a certain few people posting I wouldn't be a full time reseller who loves what I do. But there are always knock on affects, positive and negative.@@MasterofPieces
I find the best places to pick are community shops or shops run by a local church. Always welcoming, friendly and everything’s priced cheap and will often give you a good deal.
The thing is now the charity shops are run as a business now so price up everything but allways worth looking as you never no , we have a 321 shop in york ,I usually come out with 2 or 3 bag fulls the normal charity shops do have the odd thing worth buying so if you don't go you will never no , always good to see your videos regardless if you find Any decent finds
Glad to see your eBay sales have picked up Ian, but bummer about those charity shops. There are always going to be more expensive shops out there, particularly when it comes to clothing, footwear and easily identifiable stuff. But when shops individually price up toys, for example, that would otherwise be 50p each, or CDs/DVDs all priced differently, that's when I feel they're taking the mick. Most of the charity shops around me and in general in London are like this the bigger charity shops chains cancer research, barnandos etc. The a smaller charity then lucky get more of what a charity shop prices should be.
Prices in charity shops are getting ridiculous. I understand theres costs etc to a shop but when you see the same stuff on the shelf for months on end its ridiculous. There was a sat nav in a shop for £34.99. Been there for a few months. Went in one day and it was reduced to £9.99. So i bought it and flipped. Imagine how much money that spot could have earnt the shop over the months if they just lower their prices! I have a mate how has a charity shop for his charity and hes very resonably priced. He done a weekend where everything was £1. He made more money in that weekend than he did for the previuos month. Just goes to show, lower prices, more turn over
As you deal with toys I thought you'd be a good person to ask. I've just found a box of micro scalextric in the attic and everything needs to go. It's the full set but I don't know if it's working. Should I bin it or sell as spares?
i’ve never known a clothing brand that gets overpriced quite like Superdry, nearly every charity shop under the sun charges stupid money for it even though they’re a fairly reasonably priced brand.

Always enjoy watching you Ian but I have to tell you that your volume is getting pretty bad I'm having to plug in earphones to my laptop to hear you. I think its about time you got a mike.
In fairness, Gana is an actual Everton player so it's not just some bloke's name. Still no margin at £30 but it's probably not an unreasonable price given it's BNWT.
Hey curious if you have experience or know if bundle themed funko pops sell any good these days? got 24 my hero academia ones and dont have the room and need to move them
@@MasterofPieces yeah i kinda wanna bundle them as all 24 are all minty in pop protectors just worried about postage as 24 in 1 box with the delivery companies around rhondda is a tad worrying xD
I think it’s absolutely disgusting the prices charity shops feel it’s acceptable too charge for things now days. Absolutely nothing charitable about asking £4 each for some silly little animal toys. And to look something up on eBay and ask for it’s exact eBay price is just simply pure greed. I’ve fallen out of love with the hunt
Mate, they are raising money for charitable causes. ‘Absolutely disgusting’ 😂 You could argue that it’s A.D. that re-sellers like Ian look to make a profit from buys in charity shops. CAN I MAKE IT QUITE CLEAR THAT I PERSONALLY ARE NOT ARGUING THAT As Ian said himself there were items of clothing that were good value, if you wanted one for yourself I.e. not for profit.
@@themoodyteam Oh give it a rest, google how much their CEOs earn. I’m am just stating that they are charging far too much for stuff they are getting for FREE.
I feel like that aswell they are hurting the charity with their greed shops near me are closed for donations because the shops full and it’s because they are too expensive they need to get stock shifted it costs them nothing why charge £30 for a second hand superdry jacket in average condition. I don’t resell those but it’s a prime example see the same jackets every week
@seasiderjay5240 Agreed, charity shops are there to raise money for their charities. They would raise a lot more if their prices were sensible, whether its resellers or others buying the end result would benefit the charities more
@@ImARD98 ‘Oh give it a rest’?!?Apologies, but charity shops have their business models, even if they are getting stuff FOR FREE (Joni Mitchell pun there). Also, not everything is ‘free’. A lot of shops sell their own stuff, Oxfam is a good example. And some of the clothing is bought in. There are companies that buy in bulk from recycling centres, sort it and bundle it up into 1 tonne bags which are then sold on to charities. There’s vids on UA-cam of people buying these dumpy bags privately and doing a live opening.
Charity shops arent smart over pricing used things cause it means less sales if u charge less youll definitely get more sales maybe not as much money but means more stock can be put out also most things have been donated so didnt cost them anything anyways
A heroin deck? Here's a message from your uncle Bill kids. Don't buy drugs...become a pop star and they give you them for free!!! (Anyone who hasn't watched Love actually wont have a clue what I'm on about). 😂😂
Nah not on the agenda tbh. So many benefits working out of the garage rather than renting a seperate unit. I rarely buy big items anyway do what I have works fine

i pod touch looks no good pal, you can bypas and reset it but you cant use it if its still got an apple id on
Ah no way. Not tried resetting it yet tbh
Like all your videos 😊
Thansk clare... I like all comment :)
Loving your happy go lucky attitude, Don't let the b*** get you down!
Ha totally
Love all the videos
Cheers thanks :)
Always enjoy watching you Ian but I have to tell you that your volume is getting pretty bad I'm having to plug in earphones to my laptop to hear you. I think its about time you got a mike.
Ha not that bad is it.... Christmas coming up, might put a mic on my Christmas list
great video
In fairness, Gana is an actual Everton player so it's not just some bloke's name. Still no margin at £30 but it's probably not an unreasonable price given it's BNWT.
Ah didn't realise was a player. That shirts been there a while
Hey curious if you have experience or know if bundle themed funko pops sell any good these days? got 24 my hero academia ones and dont have the room and need to move them
With all funko I look them up individually... if they're not worth it the i bundle :)
@@MasterofPieces yeah i kinda wanna bundle them as all 24 are all minty in pop protectors just worried about postage as 24 in 1 box with the delivery companies around rhondda is a tad worrying xD
What is the name of your eBay shop please 👍
Everton name set is a player not a random guy 😉
Ha couple have said that
i went in a charity shop other day there wanting £60 for a roughed up box of a question of sport .
GANA is an Everton player. So yes it is some blokes name but that bloke does play for Everton 😂
😅
@@MasterofPieces i can understand why you didn’t know. It’s only Everton after all. 🤢
👍
👍
I think it’s absolutely disgusting the prices charity shops feel it’s acceptable too charge for things now days. Absolutely nothing charitable about asking £4 each for some silly little animal toys. And to look something up on eBay and ask for it’s exact eBay price is just simply pure greed. I’ve fallen out of love with the hunt
Mate, they are raising money for charitable causes.
‘Absolutely disgusting’ 😂
You could argue that it’s A.D. that re-sellers like Ian look to make a profit from buys in charity shops.
CAN I MAKE IT QUITE CLEAR THAT I PERSONALLY ARE NOT ARGUING THAT
As Ian said himself there were items of clothing that were good value, if you wanted one for yourself I.e. not for profit.
@seasiderjay5240
Agreed, charity shops are there to raise money for their charities.
Albany Road prices are ridiculous no point even bothering down there
Yeah I don't usually bother gareth. Only go down there for the cex
Hopefully Sully on Sunday if not raining
😊❤
❤️
you can record anywhere in public tell them to piss off 🤣
Ha he wasn't happy
@@MasterofPiecestypical security guard
Charity shops arent smart over pricing used things cause it means less sales if u charge less youll definitely get more sales maybe not as much money but means more stock can be put out also most things have been donated so didnt cost them anything anyways
Volume turnover vs one off sales
@@MasterofPieces precisely that's the shorten version 😂
£3-4 each! 😂
I know 😅
A heroin deck? Here's a message from your uncle Bill kids. Don't buy drugs...become a pop star and they give you them for free!!!
(Anyone who hasn't watched Love actually wont have a clue what I'm on about).
😂😂
Ha struggling with the reference myself tbh
@@MasterofPieces Haha fair enough mate. I think Love Actually is going on 20 years old so it might be a slightly dated reference. 😅
Ian have you ever thought of upgrading from the garage you constantly worry about space why not go bigger than you can get more stock just a thought
Nah not on the agenda tbh. So many benefits working out of the garage rather than renting a seperate unit. I rarely buy big items anyway do what I have works fine
1st please 🙏🏻
2nd soz
@@MasterofPiecesanother great video as always Ian. Always good to see good days and bad days when charity shopping, it’s all too easy to see people showing off the mega hauls but in reality some days you pick up loads and other days you just come home empty handed. Nice to see both sides of the coin. Keep up with the content, loving the channel as always.
First or Second?
Third 😞ha ha
Ha solid bronze
Well done with the LOL doll Ian, I told you they were one to pick up a while back on insta, fab to see you’ve sold one!!❤ @thefarmerswife
Great shout that kirsty
