- Thought it was high time i did a combo vid for nier automata. Had been planning to add this to the "When a Devil May Cry Player Combos in" list for a while but caught up with other videos.

That and unfortunately gigantic knockback, there's a bunch of round trip style setups that could exist but the enemies get sent flying with those moves.
At this point hes gonna start doing combos in racing games

Also, it needed some motivation to try and even master the different weapons (like locking their level up unless you kill certain quantity of enemies with it or something like that...)
NieR Replicant had a combo counter but even then the combat in that game isn’t as fleshed out as Automata’s is.
But the game doesn't promote soo much the gameplay!
There is no many combos but i know that the joke is to try different weapons and make your way throught them,
Is soo fun when you got the grip but mam is no possible to feel that if the game's difficulty is bad!
Sometimes enemies are hassle to deal with it( when they come in hordes) also bosses can be stylish but the bigger are just soo boring!!!
Still, BeeG manages to find golden on things i didn't expect to see coming
Between that, the lack of a combo list, and it generally just being simpler than most spectacle brawlers, it definitely seems like Nier isn't really meant to be so much a spectacle brawler as it is just an action RPG that just so happens to have a particularly complex combat system.

I'm surprised that nobody is talking about the intro, because that was beautiful! The gradual build up combined with the music, narration, and gorgeous landscape shots all being in perfect sync is so cinematic. It's like something you would see as an actual trailer for the game. I'd honestly consider it to be one of your best editing jobs yet!
Also, I thought for a second that you might skip out on 9S given his single attack button limitation, but man, you managed to make even *him* look stylish. Another stellar video, dude!

Hey nice combos and loved the Intro! If ur interested, u can even go deeper in comboing in nier automata with Self Destruct Cancel Taunt, Pod Charge slowdown, timed shockwave hitting in air, continouse combo moves and more like mid air charges!

Everything about this video is amazing, but the cherry on top of the cake really is the 9S combo. The character only has one button to make actual combos and yet you did it in the most styilish way possible.
It's awesome to see combo videos for Automata, really does this game justice. Typically, the combat devolves into Dynasty Warriors-style snoozefests (given that the previous games in the series evolved out of that genre). It gives the player all the tools, but none of them are required to play the game...
character action games don't require you to get good for accessibility.
because most people aren't able to do it nor would place the effort to develop the mechanical skill. You know people aren't going to "get good". People like cheap slop entertainment. Devs know this. You know this. Which is why it ain't a requirement. This "devolving into dynasty warrior" is all up to the player choice. You make it dynasty warrior instead of following a more creative path. You choose to min max over styling.

Disappointing that Automata has many combo tricks/options but not rewarding to do so, mobs in general are too weak to combo with, then the endgame DLC challenge is only playable with stacking +8 damage chips 1shot because Lv.130 mobs 1 shot you even with +8 defense. The only time you can be stylish is to spawn a big boy with debug mode.
But then the whole Yoko Taro series is known for good story with subpar gameplay, in contrast Automata gameplay is amazing.

BeeG where the HECK do I get that pod program that's like the grappling hook? I'm replaying the game (just started route B) but never found it anywhere in route A. Also have you seen how some people do the charge attack in the air? How does that shit work? anyway really fun vid as always.
I'm curious too that got me bcs I already did route c and some other endings but never got it and I'm level 64 ±
this fr motivated me to finish off my own automata combo video that i started a year ago, i tend to be a perfectionist but i really like how 'free-form' and slick your combos are (in general), maybe i should strive to be more like that

May not be the best combo game, but still is a really good game, I can say better than the work of Bayonetta 3 (because it had really annoying uncombeable enemies)
i agree, the main focus was too much on the Demon slave mechanic, so 50 % on encounters ended up in Heavy Enemies. That is why i enjoyed DMC5 and Nier Automata way better.

Crazy how in this game theirs no specific combos, its all up to you and how you play it. I just bought it yesterday thanks to seeing this video. Im assuming all the moves youre doing come later in the game right?
Could I make a suggestion? I'd like to see you combo in Prototype (1 and 2 have different combat so you can do both) and inFAMOUS (emulator time).

@@ducaoftheabruzzi royalguard before hitting enemies to guarantee S rank points, mission 15 use more Devil Breakage actions for points

@@ducaoftheabruzzi I meant the action where you hold the button down and it does another attack than just pressing it once, usually they help build up style really quickly, try doing that with Gerbera on the fight on mission 15 before the first checkpoint, with the 2 chaoses (spiky lizards) and the one teleporting wizard fat guy, and it gets you to S very quickly. Also don't be afraid of doing Showdown on a downed enemy for some very quick S ranking with Nero.

you really got a lot out of it, but in the end, the system still limits you to pretty much just spamming 2 moves. so i'm sorry, this doesn't look cool, but it's not your fault
