Nobody does a boxset opening like you Mike! I think you’re the first person I’ve seen show the vinyl as opposed to cds. Nice review. The book looks good at record size as opposed to cd. Thanks for sharing!
Hiya Gary, many thanks for very kind words. It’s certainly a high quality boxset, the Sabbath camp seem to maintain a very high standard with these Super Deluxe Boxsets. I’d love you to hear Forbidden, I think you’d really like it, it’s a great remix from Tony Iommi. Thanks Gary my friend! Mike
Nobody does an unboxing quite like you Mike! You are the KING of unboxing in the vc! I definitely need this box set! I do have "Eternal Idol" already on vinyl thank goodness. Thanks also for mentioning that it fits nicely in your Kallax!! That's very important to know. Have a great weekend! Cheers
Hi Christian, yes definitely a Kallax pleaser this boxset 😂 You’ll enjoy this boxset, again high quality from the Sabbath camp. Thank you for very kind words my friend! Mike
I’ve been looking forward to this unboxing from the master. Surely worth the wait. Appreciate you changing the camera angle so you can delicately flip through the printed material. Others flip through the material while holding them up in the air which I cringe at as they get slightly creased 😐. Well done Mike. Cheers.
Hiya Jack, have you recovered from your meet up with the Bishop? Looks like you had a great time, Ben’s one of the very best just like you. Thanks for the very kind words. It’s a very good boxset, I’m more a lot more Ozzy, but the Sabbath camp have done a great job pulling this high quality boxset together. Thanks Jack! Mike
Hey Mike! Bought the vinyl box set the day it came out. They did a wonderful job. Very pleased to have these rare Tony Martin albums now in the collection. Cheers! - Bret
I’m the same Bret, some albums I didn’t have before now in the collection. As usual with Sabbath great quality Super Deluxe Edition boxset. I’m particularly enjoying Forbidden. Thanks Bret. Mike
Hi K, My period is very much Ozzy era, but this is a high quality boxset. I know they’re not your cup of tea but I appreciate your support as always. Next video will definitely be to your taste! 😁 Mike
Hi Brian, without a doubt the Ozzy years are the best. But this is an interesting boxset and period for me because it is also the period I now least about. The Sabbath camp have also maintained the same quality standards with this Super Deluxe Edition Boxset. Thanks Brian. Mike
Nice video Mike - I was surprised at how much better these albums were than I expected - I brought headless cross and tyr at a market in Bridgnorth for a £5 each - got them home and they were a bit warped so stuck them in the shelves and promptly forgot about then- queue this reissue and I dug them out NINE years later! And the warp has gone ! Both really good albums
Hi Mike, I also bought off of Amazon and it was an incredible deal, but like you it didn’t arrive on time, in fact it wasn’t even posted at all. Although, it did arrive two days later and it was certainly worth the wait, brilliant box set.
Hi Andrew, yes I couldn’t believe the price on Amazon compared to others. When it didn’t come I thought about cancelling but everywhere else seemed so much more expensive, so I stuck with it and lo and behold it arrived! As you say, worth the wait, excellent boxset. Mike
I only own a few cd classic heavy? Rock albums. I did actually see Sabbath at Newcastle with Van Halen in 78? Great unboxing and l like the way you showed us the books. I doubt it'll ever be in my collection but it does look superb.
Hi Mike, great to have you back after a month of no videos mate. i was never a fan of Sabbath back in the day but have grown to love the Ozzy years over the last few years. a great box set mate - Lloyd
Hi Lloyd, yes I’ve had a silly busy month, but now back in driving seat. I’m going to do a few videos this weekend and yours is top, I’ve already got it planned. Ozzy years are far and away the best of Sabbath, but this is a really interesting quality boxset. Mike
@@pc31thevinylpoliceman looking forward to your entry Mike. im in the middle of planning a big ranking video so trying to get it all collated this weekend and hopefully up next week - Lloyd
That box is a beauty. Thanks for showing us Mike. Hopefully it won’t sell out too soon. I have only ever heard (and have) the Tony Martin album NOT included in this box set. I’ve always wanted to hear Tŷr (pronounced a bit like Tier) named after my favorite norse god, the one armed god of war (he who lost his arm tricking and trapping the Fenris Wolf in the unbreakable rope Gleipner (made by the dwarves from things that do not exists)). Also he who gave us the day Tuesday (Tirsdag in Scandinavia). Great unboxing. Cheers from Morten
Wow Morten, I bow down to your brilliant expertise in this field. Am I right in saying Tyr was the son of Odin? You’d enjoy Tyr, very Norse based lyrically. It’s a high quality boxset just like all the other Sabbath Super Deluxe Editions. Mike
@@pc31thevinylpoliceman Some sources say so, some that he was the offspring of a Jotunn. In Old Norse sources, Týr is alternately described as the son of the jötunn Hymir (in Hymiskviða) or of the god Odin (in Skáldskaparmál). He is an Aesir and not one of the Vanir incorporated into the pantheon of gods. But it is believed he is a god from further back in time as he was probably more important and had a different name ‘Tiwaz’ (litterally meaning God in proto Germanic). if we go back to the migration times. This explains why he seemingly seems subordinate to his own war title/role to the more popular Thor, who technically is the god of thunder but was the favoured diety to the vikings/norse when going into battle.
Fantastic, thanks Morten. Lots of great knowledge and education for me. All triggered by a Black Sabbath record…. Gotta love the power of music and where it takes you. Mike
Very pleased to get my copy of this boxset as well. As all the albums are hard to track down. Have not picked a favourite to play out of the 4 albums yet, but " Headless Cross " has some great tunes on it. Nice unboxing Mike.
I’m really pleased you managed to pick one up as well. As you say, they are very hard to pick up individually. Forbidden is the one that’s got me at present, but no doubt that will move around. Glad you liked the video! Mike
I must admit this era of Sabbath I’m not that familiar with...but!! Being a retired printer of 40 years that was done very well and the guitar as the centerfold? Whew easy to not get it lined up but your copy is fantastic...the paper looks high quality, semi dull it looks to be...I’ve always liked that better than gloss....excellent review....even if I’m not up to speed on this....cheers Mike✊🏻🎶👋🏻😎
Hi Lis, Sabbath do these Super Deluxe Boxsets so well. It’s certainly high quality. To be honest it’s probably my least known Sabbath period as well and I guess that make this boxset so worth getting. Mike
