I am one of the fans who enjoyed seeing Bart Starr's jewelry in the Packers Hall of Fame at Lambeau. I am old enough to remember Starr as a player and he is the reason I root for the Packers to this day. He was a class act to the end and he will never be forgotten.

Bart epitomized everything you could ask for in a great quarterback - leadership, toughness, brains, and clutch play. Even more importantly, he epitomized everything you could ask for in a human being - class, dignity, courage, humility, and kindness. This world would be a much better place if there were more people like him.

I've often posted that I'm a Packers fan rather than a player's fan. However, Bart Starr was my role model and idol ever since watching the 1960 championship game. My first book on a sports personality was "Bart the Cool" which I purchased when I was ten. I still have the tattered and torn edition with cribb notes on the pages. The three men I miss most in my life are my father, my brother, and Bart Starr. He is the model all athletes should strive to emulate.
RIP, Bart. I still celebrate your birthday on 9 Jan.

I was a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan. I started watching pro football in 1964 at 8 years of age. I have to be honest in saying that Bart Starr was the first NFL QB that I didn't like, but It wasn't because I thought he was mean or anything... he ALWAYS beat my Cowboys.😂 When I got a little older & more mature, I realized what a gentleman he was, and along with Johnny Unitas, being the competitors they obviously were, probably the greatest QBs in NFL history. R.I.P. Bart Starr
God bless our pro football heroes from a bygone era.🏈

My childhood hero. What an amazing player and man of character and integrity. What an era of players. I visit the GB Hall of Fame in October 2015. What an experience! Got a Green Bay Packers football uniform the last year I believed in Santa Claus. Mom promptly sewed a number 15 on the blank green shirt. Number 15 will live forever in my heart. Thanks for the memories Bart Starr!

I met Bart in 1966 at the lincoln-mercury dealer in Joliet, Illinois. I was 8 years old and my baby brother was crawling around and Bart picked him up in his arms and talked to us what seemed like forever. In 1990 a house fire took everything including his autographed picture and a poster of my other favorite Ray Nitschke. As life would have it in 1997 my brother and I got to meet Ray at the Rosemont convention center and I just started to cry. Here I am a 39 year old guy, 6'6". 275lbs. and crying like a baby. Ray came around and hugged me and put his arm around my brother. When I see anyone who is famous and they don't have a moment to share with a fan I just think of that moment.

He played football, he coached football, but above all these given accolades, a man with deep character qualities! What a honor for me to watch him play during the late 50's and 60's with Green Bay! Compared to Favre and Rodgers, Bart would be the first to say that he did not have the talent or the physical ability that they had/have. Yet he only lost one playoff game, and was the MVP of the first 2 Super bowls. Thank you Favre and Rogers for your great plays, I loved watching. But the best quarterback, the best player, the best man, to play for the Green Bay Packers was Bart Starr. He did more with less talent.

If more athletes in today’s nfl were more humble and like a bart Starr I would love the nfl again but what I see when it comes to on and off the fired behavior and greed of how much money I can make is ridiculous. It’s a pattern you see In society today. I don’t see it getting any better. I really do wish there were more guys like Starr and when you find a guy like this one tell the media to focus on these kind of guys and not the ones that break the law and demand money through holding teams hostage.
