- The show you are about to enjoy is a powerful demonstration of what’s possible when people come together with a common intention to give all who watch it, a moment to reflect on the circumstances they have faced throughout this most challenging period in recent memory, and to enjoy the healing power of music in nature.
With the support of the National Trust and the National Coastwatch Institute, Goldswindler and John 00 Fleming have curated and performed a show that was filmed and produced by the incredible Defacto Films, on an abandoned WW2 placement above the Atlantic Ocean on the coastline of Devon, in The United Kingdom.
We hope that JOOF’s set, and the messaging that he conveys through it, brings each of you encouragement to push through your challenges, to keep going for you and for those who love and need you, and for you to enjoy the closest experience of a JOOF performance as possible, given the absence of gigs for far too long.
The production would not have been possible without months of hard work from a collective who did this purely from a place of goodwill. All time, material and effort has been met at our collective own costs. We did this for the love of music and all of you.
If you would like to show any appreciation for this show, please feel free to support the National Coastwatch Institute which is run by the most inspiring community of retired volunteers who have tirelessly kept watch over all who have found solace, peace and much needed mind space in the vastness of the ocean, by walking along the cliffs where we were permitted the rare opportunity to film this for you during lockdown.

A few words about the team:
My friends at Goldswindler do parties, really good ones. They have been running electronic music events for about 15 years now, with some of the biggest names in the world choosing to perform for them because of their steadfast, true-to-underground and unique-setting experiences.
Defacto Films is a multi award-winning media production company based in Devon, making films for ITV, BBC, Channel 4 and Discovery.
And to capture the incredible portraits and editorial scenes of the set in low light from near and far, we were fortunate to have award winning photographer Annemieke Goldswain-Hein who stepped up to the plate. Annemieke also filmed Dave Seaman’s Selador concept performance during lockdown and we wanted a stills photographer with experience of capturing DJ Set performances in combination with a low and bright light setting.
As you can imagine, building the stage on a cliff took a massive team and Goldswindler brought in only the best stage team for this, with Tom Boulden, Denis Betty and the 10-strong crew from Nub Sound in Plymouth.
The JOOF flower in the centre of the stage was custom built by hand and suspended on a frame above a 2 meter deep circular void which is where an old WW2 canon used to be mounted, under which the guys ran all power, cabling and smoke machines.
The DJ equipment needed to be a combination of highly portable and without compromising the highest quality audio recording. This is where Denon stepped in to supply their super high performance Prime 4 console. The stand-alone DJ system boasts a 10-inch touch screen and is the world’s most portable, advanced DJ System, able to suit any gig, audience, event and in our case, remote location!
On the decks, you will have noticed the custom made JOOF Recordings illuminated box which was provided courtesy of Famous Rebel of Totnes, purveyors of “Kick Ass Art & Design for Rebels” and their team also played a major role in setting up the stage and providing refreshment for the crew on what was the hottest day of the year!
And last but not least, Alexey Sonar of Moscow based music labels Intricate Records and Skytop Radio, and long time friend of both Goldswindler and JOOF, lended his skills with some of the artwork used in the final post production of the campaign.
I would like to thank Goldswindler and the extended team for working so hard to create the show which I broadcast on UA-cam on Christmas Eve.
The feedback from thousands of you has been incredible and confirms to me that our message landed for every one of you exactly as intended.
It means a huge amount that so many of you tuned in to watch, but we are keeping the show available for you to watch again, or for the first time if you missed it.
You can follow Goldswindler and all collaborators involved, where no doubt you will be able to see what they are up to from here on.
The next party that Goldswindler and I do together will be in Devon, United Kingdom.
We wish you all a Happy 2022, one that brings with it the change that we all need.
Remember the message, “ Push through it!”
See you on the dance floor!
