In this week's episode, the boys must style a fit using a skirt.
The boys are back at it again, this time around, each boy must find an outfit styled entirely around a skirt. Dex finds inspiration from Japanese Samurai outfits and heads to 127, a boutique store in Brick Lane. Danny travels to Edinburgh and investigates the world of kilts. Elias meets Sannu, the founder of Verv, a gender fluid fashion platform in London and Shaq visits Aro, a store that specializes in rare skirts and vintage pieces from around the world.

Dex is the clear winner, but Shaq really did some interesting things too, both with the skirt and the other skirts he tried beforehand. Both opted for skirts which are longer and wider in appearance without creating the hyper-feminized cupcake dress silhouette, both wore heavier black boots, both wore traditional button-downs and both wore black somewhat low hanging jacket layers over the top. I think this helps to masculinize the skirts by creating the look both of a matched tailored suit and of flowing robes from older and/or less western forms of men's dress. It's like monks with long cloaks, or Little Finger in his dignified black robes in Game of Thrones, or a Star Wars jedi (with the inspiration from Asian tadeonal robe fashion). The skirts become robes when styled, making them both more and less like dresses. Amazing work!

man yall had no idea how HYPED i was when I saw the title for this video. I think gendering clothing is a real limiting thing for fashion so to see yall taking skirts seriously and flexing them with your masculinity and androgyny vibes? Awesome. Also the moment it opened I Knew Danny would be copping a kilt xD. Dex predictably looks adorable and epic though. I think Dex totally deserved that one. Masterclass in all black. I think you could pair that skirt with something like a 424 military kimono jacket or something like that as well if you wanted to add some (admittedly muted) colour.

Damn, Dex killed it. It was sick seeing him changing up the silhouette so much, usually his outfits break his shape, but this longer fit suits him really well. Glad he won, he looked awesome.
