Oliver is a man with over 50 years of handling wool - there is no-one who knows Shetland wool more than he does. A true legend and inspiration to everyone connected with Shetland wool.
I had an anthropology prof that could talk stories like Oliver. What a joy to the world of fleece! I really would love to visit Shetland to hear his talks live! Thank you for this presentation!
This was very interesting and entertaining. I did not know there was that much to wool grading. I'm very happy that people like you guys are posting these lessons on UA-cam.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Garrett Bowen i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you ! Your presentation was very interesting . It was a privilege to learn about Shetland fleece from you- a true expertThanks again, hope to see you back again!
Great video! I especially enjoyed seeing the grey and moorit fleeces. I am a big fan of your Heritage yarn. I still dream of a colourway that captures the different shades that occur within a single fleece. That would be magical :)
Thank you Oliver for a wonderful, informative and fascinating presentation! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute and learned so much. Loved it and well done - was clapping at the end of it !! The history and information was very well done and you did an excellent job - grateful to you and those involved. Thanks again - enjoying all of the Shetland Wool Week videos but this was really so interesting.
I was privileged to get a private tour and education from Oliver during my Shetland visit 2 years ago. A fabulous experience for me as I was a US dealer of Vispring mattresses that uses shetland wool in some of their mattresses. Great guy and I miss Shetland!
I enjoyed every bit of this presentation. Thank you Oliver for sharing your knowledge about Shetland fleeces. I'm a hand spinner and now wish I had one but I live in the USA.
Thank you Oliver Henry. Listening from NZ. Wish we had access to more Shetland yarn. But at least we have lots of wonderful local yarn to support here.
I love this video. Thank you ! Wonderful to see how you grade the fleece. Shetland is beautiful wool. I am a knitter and handspinner. I enjoy working from fleece, sorting and scouring. I love your lace weight yarn and yarns for colorwork Thank you for a wonderful video!
Thank you so much for this. I had no idea there was quite to much to grading wool. I really learned so much! I'd love to know where each grade goes and what happens next.
What an expert, such a treat. Would it be possible for the camera overhead to be used instead of the front facing camera because l really could not see what this gentleman was talking about? Thank you
Thank you so much for this it was very interesting. I would like to know what determines the class of wool a sheep produces? Is it dependent on the type of sheep, or their food or how they are clipped?

I could listen to Oliver all day - so much knowledge! I shall be much more discriminating in the fleece I take for hand-spinning after this.
