Probably my favorite state park in Georgia. The nice pond/lake about halfway down is a very nice place to visit especially if hiking in the steeper trails isn't something you can do.
Oh my gosh Tom that opening shot was incredible!!! Man 80 mile visibility is fantastic! Really loved the tour. That was a great shop too much more than a lot of stores on campgrounds. Man I miss the Mountains since moving away from San Diego! This again makes me miss them even more but thankfully GA isn't that far from us in FL!
Oh no, well hang in there, i know you'll make the best of it! Kayaking at Silver River is an idea! I did it years ago, but need to go back to film it!! Thats close to you!
Absolutely beautiful! Been here several times and enjoyed it every time. One time I came and a truck and camper set on fire, so I didn't get out of the park for three hours and I had already been there for 2! I hiked th Ada Hi Falls Trail. You should check it out! Very small waterfall, but scenic trail!
Love that suggestion, will put that on our list! We love that little diner nearby called, The Rust Bike, we stop there every time on our way to N Carolina!!
Black Rock Mountain State Park has some amazing views and trails! I visited last year during the fall run and being from Florida my hands were sweating just driving to the top of the mountain, it was well worth it though :) Definitely will return to this place! Thanks for the wonderful video, you really do a great job :)
The campground overlook is a little un-nerving as it is a platform on stilts off the side of the ridge, with a short walkway out to it. The platform faces to the NW and in the summer you can get a unbelievable sunset view from there. The turn off onto Black Rock Mtn Pkwy in Mountain City is easily missed, as there is only one small sign showing the turn to the park, then you encounter a sign with a rather mild warning "STEADY GRADE NEXT TWO MILES RV's USE CARE" with no hint of the 7 or 8% grade and a couple of hairpin turns you will encounter. Lastly, the Foxfire Heritage Center and Museum is located in Mountain City and may be accessed either from US 23 or from a side road at the park sign. Its been closed for COVID but hopefully will reopen.
I think you would be ok, couple of sharp turns to take slow but I think you would be fine. This is also a question you could call the campground and confirm if your not sure, but I saw plenty of fifth wheels there, we were on our way through when we stopped there for the day!!
This one isn't too far from me, and it's been on my list for a while too, but it's after Vogel SP. The problem with Vogel is I'm getting kind of picky and want to hit it during a prime part of the year, because I've heard so much.

Excellent. Thank you!!
I really enjoyed this video. I am planning on visiting there at the end of October.
Should be beautiful then!! Enjoy!
I live about 1:30mins south of here and never have visited. I plan to soon.
Nice hiking there with the views!!

You might need to plan a North Georgia run, you would love it!
@@CampTravelExplore we do!!! Sadly our truck took another dive and is costing an outrageous amount to fix so will be staying local for a bit lol.

Thanks so much Randy, your kind words always mean a lot!!
Wow I didn't know we had mountains that tall in GA. Awesome video, felt like I was there
Thanks Joe for the kind feedback, I really appreciate it!!
The tallest point in Georgia is Brasstown Bald at 4784 ft, and is some 23 miles west as the crow flies from Black Rock Mtn.
I haven't done Brasstown Bald yet, but it is on the list!
An absolutely beautiful area and stunning/clear/smooth footage! Love it!!
Really appreciate this kind of feedback! Thank You!

Great video!

Love your videos. I drive a Ram 1500 5.7 and pull a 30’ HEARTLAND PIONEER. Is this a possible drive for me as far as grade? Thanks so much.

Yes hit Vogel first, but I would put Black Rock Mountain SP in my Top 5 in GA for sure!
how long is the hike up and down?
I did not hike the whole trail there so not too sure on that one
is there any videos of camping places in the southern 1/3 of the state? like Albany and below??
I have episodes of Georgia Veterans state park as well as Laura S. Walker state park that you may enjoy!!
@@CampTravelExplore thanks! i'm sure i watched it, but will revisit them
was unable to find the Georgia Veterans SP
The video name is, This South Gergia camground has it all!
No brass Town ball?
CAn you tell me what time of year you went to this park?
I sure can, we were there in October
