MCC Prospectus 2024 Explained | Key Highlights and Mistakes

- MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) conducts the All India counseling for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing. MCC comes under the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS), which comes under the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). MCC has released the prospectus for the year 2024-25 on 13 Aug 2024 and they are expected to commence registration for Round 1 counseling from 14 Aug 2024, with choice filling commencing from 16 Aug 2024.
In this video, I go through the MCC information bulletin in detail and highlight the key points you should take note of. I also highlight some mistakes/ inconsistencies in the prospectus clauses.

Sir in AIQ if i get a college in 1st round and i joined and I'm participating in round 2 for upgradation and don't get alloted to any college can i participate in round 3 and will my 1st college be secured for me if don't get alloted in round 3 as well.

Sir if get college through mcc in round 2, but want to wait for state councelling round 2 (which takes place after mcc round 2) then what should I do? Should I mark for upgradation in mcc round 2? And I join college allotted through state councelling round 2, then will my deposit of mcc forfeited because I had joined college allotted through round 2 of mcc and opted for upgradation??
You should always opt for upgradation.

Sir, when is a candidate considered as 'joined' the college in first /second round? When allotment letter downloaded itself or only if the candidate physically goes to the college, submits the docs and takes admission?
Why do you want to download the allotment letter if you don't want to join the college?
You will be considered to have joined the college only when you report to the college and the college updates your joining status in MCC portal.
Sir, is migration certificate compulsory if I have to apply for aiq?
MCC issued a notice last year that colleges should not insist on migration certificate.

Sir, if I get a self-finance college seat in the 3rd round of state counselling, will I be able to participate in the 4th and 5th rounds of All India Quota counselling as I did not get any seat allotted in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds of AIQ?

They have updated the prospectus for Foreign nationals quota in AIIMS. PIO / OCI is not eligible any more.
Yes, I don't know why MCC is providing conflicting information. They are doing the same mistake as last year. They allowed OCIs to fill choices for the foreigners quota, but did not consider them during seat allotment.

Yes, you can add the same college again. No restrictions.

You can check in the MCC web site under the participating institutes link. This will give you a rough idea. For actual details, please visit the college web site.
If we go for both government and deemed medical college. Choice filling is one or separate. How will it go.

It can be done, but not advisable. Will create unnecessary stress.

While joining R1, you should indicate your willingness to upgrade. You do not need to inform them again for R3.

If seat is not allotted, you will not lose your security deposit.

It will be refunded to you directly by the college. You have to follow up.
@@JustGetMBBS so we have to be ready with 8 lakhs sir?Last year my friend in velammal paid one lakh in the college.(previously paid 4.5 lakhs to download offer letter).After that he got reallotment and joined in Nagapattinam gmc.
@@suganthidhamotharan1480 4.5 lacs has to be paid to the selection committee. The extra amount to be paid at the college differs from college to college.

It depends on the due date for resignation after R2 by TN.
Don't think too far ahead. Go with the flow. No schedule is fixed here. Anything can change any time and it will affect your plans. So, think about one step at a time.
