    Plantinga probably said this when he realized his AC was broken: "I am being appeared to in such a way so as to form the belief that I have an AC unit and it is broken, and as I am not yet suffering from the heat, my cognitive faculties are probably functioning properly towards the goal of forming true beliefs, and beings I have no reason to doubt the quality of the design plan of those faculties, my belief that the AC is broken must be warranted for me"

      Haha I was wondering the same thing. In fact, Plantinga got Emails quite frequently asking him if his AC unit was working. If this video isn't an intentionally set up parody, then it would be the irony of all philosophical ironies.

    Were Plantinga to be rewriting the intro to his Warrant series today, he could say: 'If I believe that Homer was born before 800 B.C. and believe this with as much fervor as that you've got to have a PhD in engineering to use today's A/C thermostats, then my degree of confidence in the former proposition is excessive and unwarranted".

      I’ve read some of his work, had to go back and re-read it, and finally gave up concluding it was beyond my ability to understand currently. So as an HVAC guy, seeing him complain that he can’t understand his A/C unit (and probably didn’t maintain it correctly) is encouraging. We all have our areas of competence and areas we struggle with. Even Alvin Plantiga.
