Ex Hotel Paradiso - Martell - Lost Place in the Alps

In South Tyrol stands a nearly 90-year-old luxury hotel that has been abandoned since World War II.
The building was commissioned in 1933 by Milan businessman Emilio Penati and completed by star architect Gio Ponti in 1936. Construction in the remote mountains was very challenging. Originally, the facade was pine green, not red.
From the beginning, the construction was supported by the fascist government under Mussolini to promote tourism in the region and spread Italian style. However, other planned hotels and cable cars in the Dolomites were never built.
