The thing is..as a Hawks fan this franchise has NEVER had more magic than it did under Pete Carroll. The 7-9 Hawks in his first year beating Super Bowl Champion Saints. The NFC championship game in 2013 against SF. The domination of the leagues most powerful offense of all time in the Super Bowl. The beatdown of New England in 2012 famous for the “You Mad?!” Sherm quote. The Hawks vs Packers NFC championship game in 2014. Please…Carroll led that team to an iconic stature. The man created magic and there isn’t another coach like him in the league. Him being cast out is…a travesty. Terrible decision in my mind.

Always appreciated Paul Silvi and his work at King 5, going all the way back to the early 90s. Paul was outspoken about Russ and how he didn't care for him and I agreed with him then...and I somewhat agree with him now regarding Pete. Pete is a legend and will always be. He turned the entire Seahawks franchise around and helped bring us our first and only SB. We were inches and seconds away from a repeat SB victory. He established an amazing winning culture, brought a lot of fun and energy to the team and city, always a blast to watch on the sidelines, and most importantly, knew how to get the best out of his players and never gave up on them until they gave up on themselves (Earl Thomas). But let's be honest, despite all this and as much as I love Pete, it just hasn't been working any more on the football side. As a Seahawks fan, it's getting kind of old seeing him and his coaches not change any of their ways. Most notably, it's such a painful experience watching them play the Rams and Niners every year and get demolished by them. His inability to adjust or counter to McVey is a head-scratcher. How he keeps wanting to run the ball the entire game and the Hawks are averaging 1 yard per carry is beyond me. And last, his preference, style, or willingness to be down the entire game and pull out miracle wins in the 4th quarter, down 1-2 scores with 8 minutes left, every single game was getting too exhausting. He loved those close games. True, you can't win a game in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd quarter, but you can sure be on your way to winning them comfortably by the start of the 4th quarter and give your D and O a chance to rest up. Change will be good. We should try to become more offensive-minded, go for it more on 4th down, stop being so predictable, and hold players more accountable. Keep Wagz and Tyler and let them retire as Seahawks. Build around DK, JSN, K9, ZCharb, and dog gone it, give Kenny Mac some reps next season. Re-sign Brooks, let Dissly go so you can better utilize Fant and Parkinson. Make Riq change his name back to Tariq because ever since he shortened his name, he's been playing like a bum. Release Jamal and Quandre. And finally, draft a young dynamic quarterback as your first round pick at #16, there will be plenty of them. Let Geno go, and allow Drew and the new QB to compete for the starting QB.

The case for Pete Carol being the NFL commissioner, replacing the inept Roger Goodell. Pete Carol has an accurate pulse of what professional football is all about and he is a capable, charismatic leader, and he pays attention to detail. Pete also knows the heart of the fans, something Roger has no clue about. Pete also rightly points out that it’s the players that make the NFL work even though Goodell does his best to sour the NFL image. To say that the fan base hates Goodell might be an understatement. Pete on the other hand is loved by players and fans alike. Under Goodell’s reign my enthusiasm for football has taken a nose dive. I don’t trust that games aren’t rigged. A good example is the Cowboys versus Lions game. After that wonderful half time celebration of players and coaches of their four Super Bowl teams of the past; there was no way the NFL were going to let the Cowboys lose-that’s not the story they wanted. Rigged!

Yeah, the reason that it went south in New England {@ 14:00} was because they treacherously got rid of a vet QB in Newton so that they could start the rookie Mac Jones. One thing Seattle IS NOT guilty of is destroying young quarterbacks. They should've kept Cam on for at least another year so that they could've sat Mac.
