This is a 7+ year old video and it's still helping people. I was about to throw my 2400w in the trash, but decided to give this one last try, and cleaning all three solenoids did the trick! It's working perfectly again. Thank you so much for this great video.

Same as you Jason 🙂: just fixed the 3 solenoids today and the printer now works again! One of the good side of the Internet is definitely knowledge sharing... You are note alone to thank patriothigh.

Looked for ages to find a afix for the top margin error on my Konica Minolta 2430DL. With this precise, detailed and concise video I was able to repair it in 10 minutes, which deserves a rather huge thank you!

Merci pour ce tuto, j'ai pu sauver mon imprimante, je suis très reconnaissante, car je n'aurai jamais imaginée que juste des solenoids collants puissent provoquer cette panne. MERCI....⛑

My 2530DL is saved from being kicked out at the dump. I am deeply impressed. Who could know that there was a small piece of iron that had to be bent to solve this serious problem. I thank you for the video many times. The repair took only ten minutes.

Good someone also showed how to do the job, since my previous videos were only to exactly understand the problem.
To make the new cushion be aware to use materials may become sticky again...

An excellant video , watched it through first , opened up the Magicolour 2450 , de-fluffed the blue solenoid and bent tab for good measure - problems SORTED . Much appreciated for you taking the time to create the video - another bit of tech saved from an early demise. Regards

Yes that fixed my old KM 2400W printer. It was finally working again after over 4 years out of use. Did over 600 pages since cleaning that rubber paper gripper and replacing the pad on the bottom solenoid. Top solenoid was ok still. Also had to free up a paper jam sensor on the top fuser unit. That was shown on web document by the manufacturer actually. Great stuff thank you so much for your upload.

Hello @patriothigh, you did a great job doing this video : just fixed the 3 solenoids today and the printer now works again! You probably saved it from the trash.
Thank you very, very much for sharing ;-)
I wonder how you understood this "non obvious" problem ? What is by observing the opened printer trying to start you saw those strange solenoids behaviour !?
FYI I used an alternative material : simple double-sided adhesive foam (1mm or so) : on one side I stuck normal paper to make it unsticky.

    Hello friends
I put a comment in French, first to say thank you for your contribution to this very useful discussion of file and allowed me to réparrer my color laser printer magicolor 2400w
Konica Minolta magicolor 2400W on "failure blank page comes out of the printer too fast"
Problem on Konica Minolta magicolor 2400W printer
The solution is to place small pieces of tape in the solenoid contact area settled my problems:
    - Shift the paper feed excessive high margin
    - Not stopping the sheet toner printing, the sheet comes out white.
Disassembling the cover right side and there are 3 solenoids being treated as indicated with electrical tape as explained in the video Luca Staf I thank

Did the top yellow and blue solenoid behind the fan and my konica 2450 works like a charm again. Mainly the blue one helped to straighten out the fact that my prints started out too low on the paper amd fix transfer paper jam messages. Great help!

Lucky me :) Thanks man! All green now and no error. Most of all, it friggin' prints! Almost two years of dust on it. I dreamed of this day, years before I even had this Laser Color Printer lol.

Just fixed my 2430DL with this advice, Thanks! The pad only serves to stop the clicking sound of the solenoid when its operating, I didn't have anything to replace it with but I can live with the clicking as long as I can print!!

Excellent video, very good explanations, easy to understand and follow and the fix worked like a charm (I only had the problem with the bottom solenoid). I have a Magicolor 2500W but all the hardware seems identical. Indeed, I feel very lucky to find this video :)

    Thanks!!! :-)
Was about to toss the old beast, but this worked!!
Actually, rather than removing the old sticky pads , I stuck tiny pieces of thin Kapton tape on the pads - with tweezers.
Also used PAO grease on the gears.
    Thanks Again! :-)

I've the same problem: clear paper in out of printer. The cause was a 2nd (blue) solenoid wich is behind black plastic plate near the cooler right down. The printer Konica-Minolta Magicolor 2500w. Thank's for a tip. Thumb up :)

very helpful, have a 2350 with paper jam issues and timing issues, tried some other tip cleaning the rubber wheel (paper take-up roller) with alcohol, didn't fix the problem. I guess I'll have to try this now.

removing the pad and glue (I used rubbing alcohol to help) is an option too. The pad is only there to soften the sound of the mechanism releasing and provides no other value.

thank you for the video, it solved my problem. However, it seems, that the thickness of the felt pads is important. I had to vary the new felt pads twice, as if they are too thick or too thin, it didn´t work either.

  • @tjernagel

I haven't had this error but thought I'd check it anyway. My solenoid doesn't have a pad or any signs of one ever being installed. I left it as is. I would assume the pads are only installed to help make the printer "quieter" if that's even possible... :-)

  • @michaelmcallister735
    @michaelmcallister735 9 років тому

If you don't have a pad and need a quick fix, spray some WD-40 on a Q-tip and run it along the area that is sticking. You can always go back and change out the pad but the WD-40 will prevent the sticking, at least for awhile.

How do you get that elusive third solenoid out. Once past the clear plastic cover, and removing the screw, the solenoid wobbles but I can't get it out. Is there a trick you can provide?
By the way, cleaning the two solenoids you demonstrated made the printer work for a long time. Now I think the third may be a new culprit.
Thank you for an excellent demonstration.

And me and my 2530DL would like to thank you too for this nice video. First I got a bit confused that you were speaking of 3 solenoids and you only modified the blue one, then a little less confused as I found the second part of the video yust not labeled "part 2". So there is only the third solenoid left that I found under the fan but buried much deeper. What does that solenoid control?

I have a similar problem with a Magicolor 1690MF where B/W printing is OK but color printing jams at the Fuser Unit. I am told that there is a solenoid spring that needs a stretch adjustment. Is there a video n on this fault repair somewhere? Thanks!

  • @davedjsable
    @davedjsable 10 років тому

You MUST put some tape or something on the metal tab stop of the blue solenoid, otherwise you create a magnetic 'short circuit' and the solenoid won't operate. Symptom: Paper doesn't pause halfway through printing and comes out blank (or with very faint markings).

You mention 3 solenoids, but only show one. I got past the "15H" error code thanks to you, but am unable to access another solenoid that sits near the bottom of the printer on the same side, underneath a black shroud associated with one of the fans, which defies all attempts to remove.
The error thrown is "14H" now, and I notice the printer seems unable to take up paper during a print test. Could you take this any further??

I've got the Magicolor 2450 laser printer connected to my laptop via USB that I normally use for my home office and it worked perfectly. But the other day when I turned the printer on it wouldn't work and there was a message on the display panel saying 'Service call 14'. What does this mean?. Any help or suggestions please!!

    • @christianmahovsky2615

the 3rd is to the right from the blue one and above the fan, in the upper part of the printer. It is the same yellow solenoid as the one from the video. Be careful when taking it out, as the metal arm may fall off. However, it is easy to reassamble and put it in place again.

magicolor 2400w il foglio esce bianco (o quasi), ma sul tamburo e sul nastro di trasferimento le immagini ci sono.
    cosa potrebbe essere?
magicolor 2400w sheet comes out white (or nearly so), but the drum and the transfer belt pictures are there.
    What could it be?

Your word processing software may be set to print only black and white rather than color. In Microsoft Word, do what you have to do to print a document. In Word 2003, I can print by clicking on the printer icon or clicking on the File menu and then Print. Or just Ctrl-P. Click on "Properties" then "Quality." You should see the two radio buttons for B/W or color. If that's not your problem, I'm sorry I don't know what is. Minolta on-line service manual may help.
