On the other hand, there are evidence of actual genocide happening in China Xinjiang, where the Muslims are forcibly sterilized and babies forcibly aborted. China has always been a strong police state (especially in Xinjiang) where journalists are barred from entering the places of interests. As a descendant of farm laborers and pit-sinkers such 'privilege' as I now enjoy has been _earned_ by generations who were lucky enough not to die young, worked hard, stayed married, helped their neighbours (and were helped in turn if needed) and ensured their children had a better education than they did (when that was still possible).

He was wrong to victim blame, but to his credit he was not yet aware of the full situation having just stumbled across it, And it is a much better peacekeeping decision to ask the friendlier lone civilian who is being communicative and non combative to move in order to prevent escalation rather than try and deal with an unruly, irrational and aggressive mob of people who will just get angrier and more self righteous and make it into a whole bigger problem. It's unfair, but cops are outnumbered and are not being ordered to prevent the mob from happening.
