Thanks to Howard and Paul for making this possible and to Aidan for his very direct/candid approach to answering what I thought were some really good/thoughtful questions. I have emerged from this interview with at least one planned big play in the BCBC. :)
Great q and a by Howard and Paul. I love the professional manner exhibited by Aidan, Howard, and Paul. Looks like Aidan may be a hero to those of us backing his entries!!Getting very excited about these races!
Thanks for doing the Interview. Couple nuggets dropped on the horses from Aidan. Can tell he is an extremely knowledgeable, confident and calm trainer. Bet the horses feed off his personality. 2 thumbs up on the interview !!
Very cool - that you guys get this interview.....very cool Aidan takes the time to interview with some US based journalist (sorry if you take that as a insult...not trying too)
great to see you lads get AOB on. Such a gent with his time! and a master in this game. Wish him and COT and the rest of the gang the best at Del Mar. Get your rest Aidan, need you fresh for breeders cup lol.
Aidan is a super nice guy and one of the most knowledgeable trainer's around. I'm probably going to look for a better price in the Classic besides the two favorites.
That Juddmonte International Stakes win by City Of Troy sure looks like rock solid form now two months further on down the road. Finishing behind City Of Troy in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York: *2nd-Calandagan* (Form for 2024 is rock solid. Wins at Longchamp in the G3 Prix Noailles & G3 Prix Hocquart. At Ascot he won the G2 King Edward VII Stakes and at Ascot again 5 days ago he finished 2nd in the G1 Champion Stakes).* *3rd-Ghostwriter* (Also has class form in 2024. (4th of 11 in the G1 English 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, 4th of 14 in the G1 Prix Du Jockey Club at Chantilly, 3rd of 6 in the G1 Coral-Eclipse at Sandown won by City Of Troy, and his most recent start in September produced a 5th of 8 finish in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown). *4th-Bluestocking* (How good has this filly been in 2024. Her 4th at York really pads the form of the JIS. This season she's won the G2 Middleton Stakes at York, G1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh in Ireland, 2nd of 9 at Ascot in the G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes. A loss she rebounded from by winning both the G1 Prix Vermeille & G1 Prix De l'Arc de Triomphe). Strong form for sure, but how well, if at all, his form on turf translates over to conventional dirt at Del Mar is anyone's guess. I will say this, on just pure raw ability City of Troy is one of, if not the most talented horse lining up in this year's BC Classic field, so summarily dismiss him and/or his ability to make the switch from turf to dirt without it being an issue at your own peril.
Howard and paul. Any word on aesops fables the only horse i thought might beat cogburn. Didnt hear name mentioned. Also howard mentioned continuous but i didnot hear mr. Obrien say. Thks
That’s cool you guys got Aidan to come back. That speaks volumes about you guys. Aidan is extremely insightful.

Aidan Obrien always a class act .

Wow! Great interview! 3 pro’s
Aidan has trained some unbelievable racehorses in his time , would like to see him win the Classic and then the Melbourne Cup
Aidan is a super nice guy and one of the most knowledgeable trainer's around. I'm probably going to look for a better price in the Classic besides the two favorites.
Aidan is the best of the best
I would've loved it if you would have asked about Jan Brueghel in the Melbourne Cup!

He is super-talented, no doubt about it. Very excited to see him in person next week!
Turf form not Dirt form :)
Would've like to know if Wayne Lordan was retaining the mount on Lake Victoria or if Ryan Moore was taking over.
I'd be very surprised if Ryan was NOT on the horse....we'll see.
Ryan Moore won on her last time out.
Aiden makes a good point about track speed and injuries. We should slow down the tracks in the USA to make racing more safer.
Howard and paul. Any word on aesops fables the only horse i thought might beat cogburn. Didnt hear name mentioned. Also howard mentioned continuous but i didnot hear mr. Obrien say. Thks
I don't think either one is going. He did say probably no on Continuous.
@HHHRacingPodcast ok thks. I listened a few times but I didn't catch it.
