I saw this actual Don Lane show with Brocky and the actual race. I was 16 at the time and a huge Brock fan. Loved the Don Lane shows as well. Good memories.
I watched the Brock miniseries and to be honest I thought it was good in some aspects but poor in others. I have the up most respect for Peter though and many could learn a lot about how to conduct themselves as human beings from him, he was flawed in some ways but we all are in one way or another. Peter was inspirational to many of us. I'd like to think that he has made me a better person, A more respectful and balanced human being. I think he has influenced many people in a positive way and there are very few people who could lay claim to that. Peter will go down as not just a racing driver but as a true gentleman who went out of his way to to pay back to the fans what they collectively gave to him. Peter was genuinely happy to give back to the fans, not because he felt obliged but because he wanted to, which is a rare trait in this day and age. R.I.P Peter Brock.
Those were the days of real live Tv with bert and Don i remember Don and Sammy Davis Junior singing and smoking well after midnight on channel 9 the station would stay on live well over time slots
...with a strong late 70s beige hangover in the set and clothing department. The colourful 80s didn't really start until 84. All decades have the old previous decade hangover.
It's pretty eerie to think that it would ultimately take his life 23 years later
